    That little covered area with the rubber cover that you call a screw, is actually a little port where an External Antenna can be connected to the phone, to help get better reception, and supposedly get reception in dead zones, though even though the guy at ATT told me it was for digital service, I think it was more for the Analog part of the phone.

    hey that screw thing on the back is an antenna extension if you had one. you would mount it on the roof of your car when you are driving to get awesome signal. then unplug it when you get out of the car.

    That was my first cellphone. I was a kid, and my mother gave me her old cellphone after buying a new one, propably in 2000, when I was 9 years old. Hahaha. Glad to see it again. I think I still have it.

    the IR was used to send contacts to other phones and to play snake game vs other phone
    the black small cover in the back is for the external antena you can use on on the roof of a car

    I still have this phone and it still works, it doesn't have T9. I also have a vibrating battery for it.

    What I found out, is that they used the Nokia 6160m, but they modified it to have the retractable antennae, just like Scully's from the Season 8 Episode Road Runners.

    @uolasif I just noticed something. It's the one he had on "Fight the Future" (the first movie) but with a retractable antenna.

    I remember that phone! Wasn't that the one that Mulder had on the mid-seasons of "The X Files"?

    Yep all the phones I have videos of can be used with a standard U.S. SIM card. Except the DynaTAC,

    Just bought one. Thanks for the tip. I guess I knew it was for an external antenna but never bothered to research and try to find one. Can't wit to see how it improves service.

    Search eBay, there's a guy selling 2 of them in the United States. They don't have batteries or chargers though so you need to buy those. Both for sale for pretty cheap on eBay as well.

    Thx for the info, I went back and tried all providers codes and all said, "not allowed", so I'm thinking I have to find another way to unlock it.

  • @MaxCadenasso
    @MaxCadenasso  12 лет назад

    yes that makes a huge differente. You only have I think 3-5 chances to input the code so make sure to type right and don't retry the same code twice. AT&T (PacBell) had these as well. I would suggest trying Pacific Bell as the carrier.

    I have this phone, and I tried to unlock it at that site you said, but it said code error, not sure if the provider was right or not, when I used mine back in 98-99 the provider was Aerial, then they changed to something else, then to T-Mobile would that make a difference?

    Search eBay for ACP-7U. That's the charger they take.
    And unlock them by searching Google for "Nokia unlock peters" and click on the 1st result.
