hearing the "Admit that you sleepwalk through life, Admit that you sleep only sleepless nights,Admit your best dreams involve being carried" at 4 am after just discovering greeps solo works really hits different
i asked mum if it was alright to stay past bedtime to listen to the new song (because timezones duh) and she said no but i hid in my room and played very quietly and it was alright that way
@@danieliroh yes, it is very recognizable. He's one of the best out there. I wish Black Midi will come back. I would even love to have another album similar to "Schlagenheim", with Matt Kelvin. He gave a rough edge to the group that I loved. He might not be as skillful as Geordie, but he sure gave soul to that album.
@@clorofilaazul honestly I feel like I'm no longer in the camp of people who want black midi as a band to reunite. Everyone who were in that band are incredibly talented musicians in their own right and their brilliance shines through in everything they touch. black midi's 3 run of album is just about perfect and I'd rather we get glimpses of what made that band unique like in this new solo album by Geordie where the creativity continues to abound.
Primus' Semi-Wondrous Boat Ride from their Primus and the Chocolate Factory themed album is basically that but this song also gets that cascade of anxiety going
Such a great intro, the lyricism here is really good and self reflective, I really like the direction Greep took for this album and Holy Holy proved that as well, can’t wait.
I don’t think he’s single about himself or as himself. It’s another character piece like the first track, but this character is being spoken to rather speaking themselves.
@@aboxintheblack9530 sorry, I meant that the second half of the song really stuck out to me, he’s obviously playing a character but the lines of lacking direction or purpose were sang with an impact.

Mr. President, a second Greep has hit the tower.
Now watch this drive
