Love the idea of adding a charm to the plastic cover! And the mood boards!! I've been using a hobonichi weeks and cousin the past few years but am planning to change out the cousin for a bulletjournal alternative, so this was very inspiring.

If you have ribbon bookmarks, those are an easy place for charms. Blanking on brand name, but I have your yellow journal in minty blue and I did this to it. If you take ribbon clamps from the jewelry section, you can put them on the end of a bookmark. Then add a jump ring or two and attach whatever charm you want. It protects the ribbon from fraying and looks cute. Mine has held up since September or late August.
