I was pleased to have Josef as a teacher and to have been baptized by him in 1999 in Vitória ES, Brazil.
I know that Josef knows much more than I know about the Bible, but as for the passage in which Jesus says that he will make them fishers of men, it seems that he has a more direct relationship with Jeremiah than with Abraham! Jer 16:16.

Shalom. Actually brother Joseph is right. The text from Jeremiah when one reads the whole chapter, it has a negative context because of the sin of the people in Israel .
However the words of Jesus making the disciples fishers of men is perfectly in the context of Jacob blessings the sons of Joseph to spread the blessings. I'm guessing the Creator uses this example because of the amount of eggs/offspring fish can have. That can vary from 250 to 300 million. So it's just a metaphor for the fast growing of the kingdom of God through the disciples then...and now.

Really enjoyed this , but I would not be happy with Paul if he just abandoned his wife. How can Paul preach about marriage in the way he did if he abandoned his wife?

    ‎‏وينك يا حبيبي
    Where are you, my friend/buddy/guy/etc.?
(Ḥabibi is a term of affection or endearment commonly used even among friends and colleagues. This is the masculine form, also used by default when one is unsure. After he realizes the student is a female, he uses the feminine form.)
    ‎معمول
Maʿamul (the Arabic term for the type of pastry).
    ‎‏شكرا حبيبتي
    Thank you, sweetheart.
(This is the term of endearment above in the feminine form, ḥabibti.)
I love that he is speaking Arabic in this type of setting. Hoping he‘ll throw in some Hebrew, too, later in the interview.

The guest, Joseph Shulam, was very interesting to listen to with an interesting background, but I think he was wrong about several things. Namely, first, that Paul was married, second, that David broke 9 of the 10 commandments and third, why David didn't kill Saul and fourth, his understanding of Jesus' comment on fishers of men. There is no evidence that Paul was a member of the Sanhedrin. I don't know what the age requirements were, but I think he was too young. According to an article I read on qualifications for a member of the Sanhedrin the member had to be of advanced age. Paul was young. Also, the article didn't say anything about being married as a requirement.
As far as David's sin, there were only 2, perhaps 3 sins that God judged David for; adultery and having Uriah killed and numbering Israel. I think if David had broken the other commandments God would have punished him for it. I'm not exactly sure why God punished David for the sin of numbering Israel unless it was for the sin of unbelief. The Bible says very plainly, that the reason David didn't kill Saul was because Saul was anointed of God. Peter and Andrew, who were fishermen, were casting their nets when Jesus called them and said to them I will make you fishers of men.

The man wanted to talk about Jesus! Why on earth would you limit the time he had to do so by forcing him to talk about himself??? That is just plain wrong....
