Electronics lesson: The termination switch puts a 50 or 75 ohm resistor (depending on cable impedance) across the signal and shield of the co-ax cable in order to prevent reflections, where a video signal can bounce from an unterminated end of the cable and interfere with itself causing issues like ghosting. The resistor soaks up reflections, resulting in a cleaner signal. You'd normally terminate at the ends of a cable.
Oh my god - old scool!!! It's amazing! Anton Bauer LogicSeries - 3 kilo brick, but i really love it! I use repacked AntonBauer right now (with li-ion ofcourse). Thank you for video, Red. And Happy New Year! ;))
@SteadiRed OMG Rey showed this video in the silver workshop I attended last year in Vegas. Jerry (who joined in later on via skype with Kat) then laughed when he learnt Rey showed it to the class. Awesome steadi content my guy. This channel and the workshop has substantially helped me in having confidence in working as steadi.
tripod adaptor plate?, in still photography we just call this a QR or quick release plate (that is what it does), no screwing around (not in bed, anyway); just a flick of a lever, and it's associated safety catch.
It really depends where you are starting. If you are at the very beginning i would recommend working on some student films and building up a reel and making connections. I would also do pretty much anything to get on a production. this is commonly done by being a set PA. working at a rental house is also a common way to start making connections and learning about production.
stoked i found this page, thanks for the content bro! Ive been a cam op for 10 years and saving up for a steadicam now so this is golden content!
From South Africa!

I see things had progressed far enough in the technology upgrades that a cine pipe was no longer needed.
😁 nahh, I'm saving up for the cine pipe 4k pro
@@SteadiRed Good move, I understand that one will have augmented reality built in as standard.
Hey man... an idea for future videos would be to react to the live eurovision performances and the steadicam work used on those. Would be awesome 👌
Thanks! I'll look into it 😁
Hi. I have a slight squeak in my rig near the first spring arm near the vest. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?
hey, if that was a "bazooka", does that mean you would have to have a mortar in it too? ( this is an ENG camera after all!).
Interesting Video 😜👍
Thanks for watching 😁
you missed the words "mount", at least he didn't put his leg over it!
How would I get into steadying operating and gimbal work in DC?

How helpful is stuff like yoga, breathwork, and visualization for maintaining body and mind flexibility given the work that you do?
Cinema Products stills owned Steadicam when this was produced
your correct, i forgot about that.
In 1990s and Avid editor would have went A.S. over the then processor intensive job of flipping all the shots of a job.
ohhhhh, that makes sense.
