There are a lot of extremes and excesses and flesh in a lot of worship, in the charismatic side, and in what I might call the stoic side Jesus can be in both, or in neither one. God knows the hearts. Lord help us to be careful not to label something as fleshly because it doesn't fit some personal perspective of our own thank you Jesus for helping us

      2 Cor 6:14 - 2 Cor 7:1
What does today's entertaining CCW seem different from secular style of concerts?
Only the superficial lyrics masked as Biblical ways. Everything else is mimicking the world.
See how Christians react to worship God and see no band. They would be lost.
I have been to many concerts in my early days and today's worship has no division from the world's style. It pleases the flesh and we find worship songs to creates adrenaline.
That feeling goes away when the service is done and we fall back to normal. That boost in energy is no different between the two except for superficial lyrics that vaguely distinguish it from the secular.
No fear of God, because a great majority don't know God.

@@n9wff I 100% agree.. that's why this sermon says that Worship is waaaayyy more than music. I think the problem is that musical expression of worship has been pigeon holed into just that. Music alone should not be seen as worship. It is just an expression. If your life outside of that moment of singing doesn't reflect what you're singing l, then what you described about the high will always occur. Music in my view is just a part or a part of a part of worship. The style doesn't matter. It's just the cherry on top of what worship truly is which is what this pastor speaks of.

    • @n9wff

Sadly, too many carnal Christians are getting their theology from listening to this rather than getting it from the Word.
Just look through here and see how listeners enjoy the music more than the worship itself.
The congregation doesn't need to sing, the band does it for them. Stand, watch and enjoy the performance.
Pull the plug on the stage, look around and see how many participate.
I can't even get the unction to worship with such lyrics that promote our feelings than our knowledge of God.
Too superficial and shallow. More adrenaline filled than Spirit filled.
      More flesh driven, IMHO.

I feel to mention that a lot of the comments sound as though there is great reverence and worship directed to Voddie himself, careful brothers and sisters that you don’t slip into idolatry of teachers and doctrines. How you operate in the doctrines you hold should never go against the second greatest commandment- love your neighbour as yourself.
Let every man be a liar, and the Word of God be truth. He is mere man.
When he references “we like to do that, wow! that was spirit filled worship”, he’s clearly not talking about himself or his congregation, but pointing to charismatics in criticism. What if a large majority of them truly are born again believers? Adopted as sons and daughters, are your very own brothers and sisters in Christ, walking with the Holy Spirit, working out they’re sanctification. Some start so far off and it takes time, some have the blessing of having been taught the truth from young and discipline comes naturally. Did God appoint Voddie to be the judge of mans hearts and they’re salvation? Keeping checks on they’re sanctification process? Only God can do that. Voddie should not assume roles assigned to God alone. He is in charge of the flock of believers the Lord has lead into his care.
Here are some scriptures of praising the Lord in song, shouts, thanksgiving
(Some of these are quick referenced to save in length)
Psalm 98:4-9 references shouts and praises unto the Lord.
Psalm 149:3 praise his name with dancing
Psalm 134: lift hands in the sanctuary with praise and thanksgiving
1 Timothy 2:8 men pray, lift holy hands, without wrath or dissension
Psalm 16:11 in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of Joy
Ephesians 3:12 12 Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.
    2 Corinthians 3:17
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
These scriptures all sound to me like there’s a level of volume and emotion invoked in praise, in thanksgiving, in song, in dance, in lifting hands, and especially in the PRESENCE of the Lord.
In 1 Samuel Hannah crying in anguish was praying from the heart without words and Eli thought her to be drunk.
In acts 2 others mocked them in the upper room when the Spirit fell upon them because they assumed they where drunk, but Peter corrected them saying it was prophesied in Joel that God would “pour out His Spirit”, one could conclude that when the Holy Spirit filled the upper room, and Gods Spirit was poured out, people appeared drunk. That’s just clearly written in the text.
Romans 15:13 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5: 22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Joy, love, peace, hope, etc- that of which comes from heaven, is not void of emotion. It’s of the very Spirit of God. Its beyond human comprehension because it’s not of this world when it comes from the Holy Spirit. There can be tears!
Our worship to God is not solely in music at the beginning of the worship service, yes I agree with him on that. We are to be worshippers in Spirit and in Truth. It’s to transcend every area of our lives.
Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’’
What is the soul? It’s your own will, your personality, your EMOTIONS. They are the Lords-
Many moments in scripture, in singing while driving, in prayer, I’ve experienced being overwhelmed by the love, grace, mercy, and PRESENCE of God. Who am I that God would be mindful of me? I don’t believe that all charismatics put on a show at church and fail to honour God in they’re personal walk.
This is his personal preference for himself and how his church conducts itself. I’m certain the Lord honours his convictions of being reverent.
Calling brothers ans sisters pagans I would think would grieve the heart of God- let’s fear the Lord enough to pursue UNITY, blessing, honour, and prayer to those that have a different expressions of worship then our own.
    In Christ, your sister Chelsey

    • @macummings7818
      @macummings7818 2 года назад +2

I didn’t hear a reference to people as “pagans” here
Don’t put words in his mouth and then take offense
The message was clear - as they say if the shoe fits…
So if not doesn’t why are you writing essays in the comment section using fake humility to jab at the man of God doing his ministry 😳🙄
I needed to speak up against all this Scripture-quoting and mealy-mouthed nonsense that I’m seeing in this reply - the message was straight and clear - God is not mocked by any of the shenanigans taking place masquerading as honor to him.
No one cares to speak against you and no one can do that - we simply point out the error in thinking supported by conviction the holy spirit behind Scripture. Then each of us must apply it.
      That is all.
May the Spirit continue to convict you, despite your resistance.

@@macummings7818 he did mention paganism he said “imitating pagan rituals” when referring to different worship teams.
I do agree with the fact that we do not know the hearts or the intention. So how can we put a bad label on every church that does worship a certain way? There is nowhere in scripture that says “do not jump in worship” and “do not use many instruments” if the intentions are pure and they truly want to worship God it is not for us to belittle.

I happen to believe that when we fast, pray and live in a state of consecration before God, our worship is acceptable to Jesus. Notwithstanding, if our hearts are not right with Him then our praise will be rejected anyway because God looks on the heart. Just like the music of David ministering to Saul, so it ministers to others the same way. The annointing breaks the yolk! Even before the word is preached people are being freed through music and singing ministry because of the word of God and His power in those songs and the level of consecration of the singers and musicians.... Remember the wall of Jericho? It's not a performance at all; it's the power of God through song, dance and music and It all has a God given Purpose. I've never imagined that people sing in an attempt to manipulate God into doing stuff for them when all we have to do is ask; that sounds far fetched to me and borders witchcraft. To liken praise and worship accompanied by instruments, choir and praise teams to pagan worship is offensive, because there are many scriptures that command praise and worship in these exact methods. Here are a few: Ephesians 5:19
Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.
    Psalm 105:2
Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!
    Psalm 104:33
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
    Psalm 95:1
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
    Colossians 3:16

It is so important that we seek the wisdom of God for we are facing some really trying times. We are being attacked from every possible angle.
    Psalms 91:9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
Jesus referred us to The Father for reasons we may not understand but He knew we would need God's wisdom to show us our way. Just as Jesus followed The Father, so shall we. This is why:
Be prepared for anything at anytime and KNOW The Word/Jesus.
Protect your home and family and property by using the wisdom of God in Deut. 6:8-9
    Psalms 119:151
Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.
Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5
The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1
The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13
and The Word God made flesh John 1:14. He is our example of The Trinity. He is The Law that hung on the cross and The Law that is written in the heart.
    Psalms 40:7
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me
    Hebrews 10:7
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
With obedience to The Father in Deut.6:8-9, The Father anoints us with His Word, putting us in His Son, The Holy Spirit.
We do not work for our salvation, Jesus died and saved the world. But we can work for our protection from the plagues, those coming to steal, kill, and destroy, from deception etc.. There is nothing wrong with works for we are judged on our works. Faith without works is dead. Why would Jesus tell us to pray for workers, if no work is to be done?
Build up the body of Christ by 'putting on' The Lord. Cling to, dwell in the law (Ten Commandments) and testimony (Sermon on the Mount). We know His voice.
His words are spirit and they are life. Hear Him. Prepare for your future and the life of your loved ones. As Paul tells us, "put on Jesus." Cling to, dwell in the Truth, in life. Learn of the armour of God and grow strong in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Spirit of God, the Ten Commandments, used to be everywhere across America, not any more. Few homes will contain the precious Word of God. Our schools, our court houses and public property have mostly removed the Commandments. God's Word will preserve us if we apply them once again across our Country. Each of us, on our property, our loved ones, on our all. He never left us, we left Him. Surround your world in Light.
We are to serve Him with all that we are, heart, mind and soul. Are you one of His? When you are powerless, power up IN Jesus. Grow in Him and continue your armour so you and yours are standing strong in Him upon the day of His return. He is still with us, will we let them remove Him even from our families? May God go with us all in accordance with His law, His love. Cling to the Truth, dwell in Him. Protect your family!!! He always shows us a way out of our troubles. Let's seek His wisdom in all our problems.
Always use K.J.V. if possible. Our God is our hope.

When it comes to Worship, there is not a difference between being "in the streets" or "in the temple"for both is done unto Him, in His Honor and before Him...but, if you want to wait till you are before the father at the end to see if it's allowed or not, well then.... and to the person whose reasoning is David "not being a Christian", So what are you saying, the God whom he served is not the same today and forever?

I may be new to this, but I have questions. I appreciate the direction and clarity that Pastor Voddie brings, however what about passages such as 2 Samuel 6? I am NOT saying that this is the practice of every worship set or anything like that. But what of the moments when our worship becomes seen as that which is “undignified”? David gets rebuked by Michal to which SHE is “cursed,” never having any children. This ultimately ends the line of Saul, with the exception of Jonathan’s lame son. Still, it is not recorded that what David did was wrong. It was in fact a practice to celebrate in worship before the Arc in dance. Granted I say again, this was not a marked practice of every time of worship. Are we not supposed to do this? Is this practice (not the slashing and working up of the sweat as he puts) not biblical? I personally don’t enjoy a concert-esque worship set. I grew up with a grandma that played the organ, so I appreciate the conservative services for worship. However, I find myself at times dancing with the Lord in my time with him.

Well, Sir, the book of Ephesians is referring to the elect. Anytime the Bible addresses those who were chosen before the foundation of this world or earth age, it's talking about the elect. Those who have already been judged and justified or found to be innocent.
The thing is, you can't put all Christians in that category, not in the context of what you're attempting to teach here. Romans chapter 8 and Revelation chapter 13 speaks about those who were written in the Lambs book of life before the foundation of the world. To correctly divide the word, so that it is 100% accurate, you can't include the elect with all Christians. In fact, the elect have already gone through the process of being judged, so they don't have free will. God will intercede in their lives to accomplish His plan of salvation, but those individuals who do have free will, God will not intervene in their lives unless they specifically request Him to. That's after they acquire enough knowledge to be able to put on the gospel armor to be able to stand against Satan. The elect stood against Satan in the first earth age, and this is why the Apostle Paul addresses them as being chosen before the foundation of the world. He is, no doubt, not referring to those who are called after the foundation of the world. Many are called, but few are chosen.

He does get one thing wrong.
Ephesians 5:21 does not relay to family and marriage. In the Greek, submit is two different words. One is to authority as an individual, the other (v. 21) is a group in military alignment.
Paul's audience is the saints in Ephesus. It does not change until ch. 5:22, where he addresses wives, then husband's and eventually the children. You cannot submit to each other's authority in marriage, for Paul wrote that Jesus was the head of the man, woman under authority to man, or husband. Jesus does not submit to our authority but God. It is a hierarchy through chain of command and nowhere does the higher authority submits to the lower. Doesn't mean they don't listen, protect, or care. It means the correct method and setup for spiritual authority and covering provided by God for all of us.
I provide the needs and covering over my wife but I have no right to give up my authority and submit to her. But in the kingdom and doing His will, we are both to submit with others in military fashion on Christ headship.

Even if those leaders are satanic? Then why did not Jesus, His disciples, Daniel, Elijah and the older prophets not submit to the commands of the evil decress of their rulers? This is not a contesting of the word. This is an asking for a more indepth study on that point. Oh, wasn't Paul a Roman?

What, you feel like their worship of God is not what you perceive that it should be?
I'm telling you, man, just don't go there. You're on the verge of people considering what you're saying as being hypocritical.
People can worship however they choose. Do you think that God doesn't know what's in people's hearts? Believe me, God can handle that without any help from anyone.
