I'm not new to the watch game, but I sold off some of my more expensive watches and adopted the Apple Watch early on. It became such a distraction in my day-to-day life that I let the battery die on my last Apple Watch and returned to wearing wristwatches. My daily beater is a Timex Q reissue.
I had a fossil smart watch and I had the same issue. It also started to lag and kept vibrating for notifications or need to restart. Decided to get a g-shock and love just knowing the time and date.
It was G-shock for me. I got one when I graduated high school and wore it for over a decade, put it in a drawer when smartwatches were new and exciting, and then eventually realized my G-shock had all the actually useful features without having to charge it every day or wake up the screen to see what time it is lol. I also used to like swapping dials on my smartwatch but would get a little disappointed at how flat they all look on a screen, so now I like to swap between a bunch of affordable dress watches
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!

Smart watches are convenient when you're in work. Being in a medical field its very useful as I can answer calls when i'm doing procedures such as intubation or in the operating room. There's the right time for both!
Fantastic video as always, Max. I returned the Apple Watch Ultra after 4 days. It was more mentally subtracting than adding for me, was too big and looked like a toy, and had zero personality on wrist. I was thankful for that return policy
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

got a brew metric (the titanium build) recently. Easily best titanium build for the price (under $500) and the retro square dial look works with most outfits. Strap and size is more applicable to most folks who aren't looking for a 42mm behemoth and imo than the bulkier seiko GMT and the knockoff jubilee bracelet looks better in pictures than on the wrist (especially if you're a guy with a lot of arm hair like myself)
Does anyone else double wrist? I do when I'm working from home with a Proper Watch on the left and Apple Watch on the right but it feels so dorky that I can't bring myself to do it when I'm around other people!
Having a Pelagos, Aqua Terra and GS Quartz - I can live also with an Apple Watch. It's just another toolwatch to me - and as this it does excel in what it is offering. On the other hand, most watch nerds here are happy timing eggs with their column wheel chronographs. All I hear in this video is how this watch makes you feel and how that watch is pretty designed - sometimes you need a tool, not jewelry.
I only wear my pixel watch while jogging to keep track of the data. I also love wearing my seikos. Both watches have their own usecases they're not a replacement for each other

Every digital quartz watch is a computer. Also I think that rectangular or square-ish watches would be a better gateway. Like those made by Brew. The casio choice made better sense than the rest.

But, I also have an apple watch and a garmin. 😅 apple watch for health tracking and Garmin for my run training, because it has more run tracking dynamics. I buy a watch for its functionality to me. 😅 I had a baby-g before, but I sold it because it’s so hard to set all of the different settings, where as my garmin and apple watch are user friendly, plus you can change the strap, anytime, no problem.! 😅 Right now, I am wearing my watches as to how I feel. For work setting, I won’t use garmin and apple watch, it isn’t for an office environment. 😅 I bought my rolex oyster perpetual when I was still working in the corporate industry, since it is suitable for the environment, lending you a certain amount of respectability. 😅 most people would often disregard watches as nothing, but to watch enthusiast and those who know about watches, the kind of watch you wear speaks volume. ☺️ l would say that the rolex watch that I bought was probably my wisest purchase as it’s value increased since then, rather than spend money on things that will have no value in the years to come. 😅

An easy way to think of it is that real watches (as you define them in the video) are jewelry while the Apple watch is a tool. I wear my Apple watch for turn by turn maps in the car, to monitor my heart rate when exercising, using the gps feature to map my bicycle rides and upload them to Strava, finding my phone or computer if I misplace them etc. etc. Real watches aren't nearly as functional but they do look nice and I wear them to weddings and funerals. I would say that the most out of place and least desirable watch to me is the G-Shock. It is clunky and the tech is ancient and they difficult to read. It's a shame that Casio doesn't try harder. I bet they would sell twice as many if they offered more features with a less clunky interface.
Yes, I have bought from amzwatch more than once. I even bought a new Omega Speedmaster which came with the fancy box and packaging. I am thrilled with all my purchases here. I would purchase from amzwatch again for sure.
I always would incur more stress when I’d wear my Apple Watch during work hours. Constant notifications, buzzes and sounds (from work Chat groups). When I’d take a break, it never felt like one due to the constant buzzing. Took it off one week to see how I’d do without it, and happy to say that going back to my mechanical watches has been a real refresher. My Ultrahuman ring still says I get stressed out at times, but it also records basic vitals, exercise, sleep and so much more. I don’t think I’d buy another Apple watch…they force you into it in that you can only record workout steps with it on. C’mon Apple! Even smartphones from 5 years ago did that easily enough! You just want more $.

My Garmin Instinct from 2020 is still chugging along fine, and solar charging means I don't ever have to plug it in. Anyone who wants a smartwatch for function isn't looking at Apple or Samsung. They're looking at Garmin and Suunto. They're built tough and built to last.
That is true now but I wear as daily a Gear S3 Frontier and it is as robust as any Garmin I find here. I have it as a birthday gift from my parents who bought it in the Samsung Factory Store during a trip to Seoul, four months from its release (so I have it since March 2017)...and after some many drops, labour work, ocean swimming, running competitions...it is looking and functions as brand new (even the battery)...Samsung did a great job and then just "dropped the ball" getting too fashion and worse since the 1st Galaxy Watch (the model that came after)

none of these can't replace apple. apple is a smartwatch, so the logical answer is replace it with another smartwatch that more affordable, and use the remaining budget for analog watch
I think what you are showing is great. Right after your rant about an Apple Watch not being a real watch you show two analog watches, a Tudor and a Grand Seiko, two watches that costs thousands of dollars more than the most expensive Apple Watch, the Ultra 2. And then you show a Casio G-Shock, which is connectable and then a handful of analog watches. I don’t know how to put this, so here it is; an Apple Watch is fully connectable with your iPhone, the possibility’s for various use are, almost, endless, one could say, that you have a small computer on your wrist. An analog watch is a completely different watch, it tells the time, and most of analog watches do that very well. Please don’t be a watch snob, it tells us more about you than the items you are talking about, and please don’t compare an Apple Watch to non connectable analog watches, it’s like comparing the hight of your snobbery to the hight of a mountain. I have collected watches for 35 years and I think that the Apple Watch is a formidable watch -and tool, you can use with a lot of benefits, after use you can then wear an analog watch. An Apple Watch can have personality too, it literally tracks so much about you, it's pretty much a companion, an assistant, helps you communicate with people, it's convenience is it's personality. At the end of the day, whatever you buy, you have to make YOURS, you don't have to comply to other people's standards, to peer pressure, to trends. That's what the watch hobby is all about, your connection with the watch and how you feel when you look at it, how it accompanies you as you go on with your life. You have to help people find what's special for them, but they have to start somewhere, and if it's an apple watch, so be it, it gets their foot in the door.
That G-Shock DW-H5600 is the worst of both worlds - it's not as functional as a Garmin or Apple Watch, expensive for what it does, outdated tech (the watch app sucks) and has a cheap plastic look so it can't function as jewelry like the other watches in the video. Not to mention that battery life plummets if you leave the sensors on. And it is huge at 16.6mm thick. Casio needs to stop resting on their nostalgic laurels and get serious about watchmaking again. On the other hand, Citizen is working hard and bringing out amazing watches like the Forza.

I love my Hamilton Khaki Auto. Their leather bands are bit brittle through, I’m switching to a NATO strap any day now.

I would go with a G-Shock CASIO Master of G - Land Rangman GPR-H1000, for about $400. It has GPS, monitors heart rate, and plenty of other features.

That is true now but I wear as daily a Gear S3 Frontier and it is as robust as any Garmin I find here. I have it as a birthday gift from my parents who bought it in the Samsung Factory Store during a trip to Seoul, four months from its release (so I have it since March 2017)...and after some many drops, labour work, ocean swimming, running competitions...it is looking and functions as brand new (even the battery)...Samsung did a great job and then just "dropped the ball" getting too fashion and worse since the 1st Galaxy Watch (the model that came after)
I have two Casio watches. As great as they are they’ll never an heirloom.

none of these can't replace apple. apple is a smartwatch, so the logical answer is replace it with another smartwatch that more affordable, and use the remaining budget for analog watch

I think what you are showing is great. Right after your rant about an Apple Watch not being a real watch you show two analog watches, a Tudor and a Grand Seiko, two watches that costs thousands of dollars more than the most expensive Apple Watch, the Ultra 2. And then you show a Casio G-Shock, which is connectable and then a handful of analog watches. I don’t know how to put this, so here it is; an Apple Watch is fully connectable with your iPhone, the possibility’s for various use are, almost, endless, one could say, that you have a small computer on your wrist. An analog watch is a completely different watch, it tells the time, and most of analog watches do that very well. Please don’t be a watch snob, it tells us more about you than the items you are talking about, and please don’t compare an Apple Watch to non connectable analog watches, it’s like comparing the hight of your snobbery to the hight of a mountain.
I have collected watches for 35 years and I think that the Apple Watch is a formidable watch -and tool, you can use with a lot of benefits, after use you can then wear an analog watch. And thank you for not hating me, and others, who dare to wear a not so real watch.

Funnily enough, MaMaCoo 's replicas are perfect for people who can actually afford a luxury watch. Because in those social circles, it wouldn't matter and everybody would just assume it's real. You have a yacht and a beach house in Tuscany, of course that replica is real. There isn't a millionaire out there going around with a jeweller's loupe to scrutinize their acquaintance's watch. They'll just go "Oh is that a Patek? Nice, I should really get my hands on one of those, they look great."

You're right but an apple watch doesn't have personality as much as many wrist watches. Some watches will be here when you,I and the most of us will not and that's awesome.

An Apple Watch can have personality too, it literally tracks so much about you, it's pretty much a companion, an assistant, helps you communicate with people, it's convenience is it's personality. At the end of the day, whatever you buy, you have to make YOURS, you don't have to comply to other people's standards, to peer pressure, to trends. That's what the watch hobby is all about, your connection with the watch and how you feel when you look at it, how it accompanies you as you go on with your life. You have to help people find what's special for them, but they have to start somewhere, and if it's an apple watch, so be it, it gets their foot in the door.

I completely agree. I've always told my friends that an Apple Watch is more like a wrist phone.
That G-Shock DW-H5600 is the worst of both worlds - it's not as functional as a Garmin or Apple Watch, expensive for what it does, outdated tech (the watch app sucks) and has a cheap plastic look so it can't function as jewelry like the other watches in the video. Not to mention that battery life plummets if you leave the sensors on. And it is huge at 16.6mm thick. Casio needs to stop resting on their nostalgic laurels and get serious about watchmaking again. On the other hand, Citizen is working hard and bringing out amazing watches like the Forza.
