The older ones feel like a battle, a fight between two teams, with much glorious sounding instruments. The newer one feels like a sport, with more electronic type sounds. Best compared in MVP Anthems.
Hmm, almost like Valve has made no attempt to hide the focus on eSports at this point in the game's lifecycle. But the problem is, Counter-Strike's setting is not and never has been the Liandi Grand Tournament (no matter how many servers liked to implement the Unreal Tournament announcer as an addon). So there's an obvious art-style clash going on here now. Needless to say, this game has had a major identity crisis ever since the the insanity over the skin and esports money kicked off.
If you didn't realize that Panorama update changed the soundtrack, it's mostly because Panorama only removed the alternative soundtrack, so it plays the exact same tracks everytime an event happens. They probably did this to avoid creating multiple tracks for the same event for newer Music Kits (as Kits newer than the Panorama Update have one variants only).
Is there a way to replace all the musics with Pre Panorama? Idk if there is a way, haven't tested the CSGO music kit but i thought i might be 2018 era , not the OG one

A matter of tastes, the CS2 music kit is like they are introducing you into a kind of a sports tournament where only the best of the best will win, and the big crowd just cheering their team adding to the majesticness and greatness of the event. Pre Panorama soundtracks were perfect fit for CSGO. They were getting me hyped instantly. After they changed it to Panorama Update, CSGO wasn't the same anymore so I started to buy music kits. Honestly best memories of CSGO are from 2012-2016
I heard you can still hear _most_ of the old music as alternate tracks played in Hostage mode but I haven't confirmed it since I have basically zero reason to play Hostage and last time I did, I had a music kit equipped. For all I know, they could've removed them entirely from CS2 as the CS:GO music is effectively as much of a music kit as every other one. Update: It doesn't work in CS2 :[

post panorama one was there too it varied between the two depending on maps and teams. Other one(2012 one) is T side/middle eastern theme used on Dust1 and dust2, idf and elite crew had it usually play, tho it also played on other maps on occassion.
I never realized they removed the T side themes after the panorama update. I've been playing with the Skog music kit for very long now. Man. That really, really sucks.
The more orchestral take fitted CSGO very well, but CS evolved. As much as I love the classics, the new tracks are BANGERS and really embrace the competetive nature of the game. @@Ashraf-Hrira

New CS original track is a banger, since the first trailer I thought it was a cool theme but exclusive to the trailers, and now that CS2 is here, listening to it on repeat everywhere while playing the game is cool.
I had CSGO on my steam account since 2013, before all you cringe zoomers even started playing the game, and I say that the CS2 style overhaul, new music, and brighter visuals made me come back to the game. Cry more about how the old "serious" music is nostalgic to you, just because you have nothing else to be nostalgic about. I say this style change is the best thing to happen to CS since CS 1.6
They done it to make it into e-sport the game. Old CSGO was meant to be gritty, depressing and dramatic. I miss T side music variants(tho it played for both teams on some maps like dust 1 and 2) and hate valve for removing it.
I will go to CS2 now, set old CS:GO music kit and on all sound settings to 100%. So sad, we can't use Pre-Panorama music kit too, but we still can enjoy old CS:GO music.

New CS original track is a banger, since the first trailer I thought it was a cool theme but exclusive to the trailers, and now that CS2 is here, listening to it on repeat everywhere while playing the game is cool.

I had CSGO on my steam account since 2013, before all you cringe zoomers even started playing the game, and I say that the CS2 style overhaul, new music, and brighter visuals made me come back to the game. Cry more about how the old "serious" music is nostalgic to you, just because you have nothing else to be nostalgic about. I say this style change is the best thing to happen to CS since CS 1.6

They done it to make it into e-sport the game. Old CSGO was meant to be gritty, depressing and dramatic. I miss T side music variants(tho it played for both teams on some maps like dust 1 and 2) and hate valve for removing it.

I will go to CS2 now, set old CS:GO music kit and on all sound settings to 100%. So sad, we can't use Pre-Panorama music kit too, but we still can enjoy old CS:GO music.

There are so many great things about og and panorama soudtracks that made me have a nostalgia about all good moments. But now I think the best soundtrack for cs2 is "shooters". Under that graphics and modernization, it just fits.
