    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  Год назад +1

      @Bruce Venema Hi Bruce thanks for the feedback! So I would say the most likely problem would be the heater control valve not working properly, I would start there first. You might find just flushing the cooling system will fix it. I was just starting to get problems with heat not coming from the blowers but now I've done the coolant flush and change its red hot! Hope this helps and thanks again for the comment 👍🏻

    I am new subscriber . Thanks for the great videos . I have just purchased E60, 530i . Your videos are very helpful in showing how to service and fixing things on the car.
    I do have a ? . In this video u cut out the bit when removed the lower expansion tank hose.
    How did u do it ?? I am trying to replace my tank but I am not able to get that large hose off. I have even tried pliers, it will not move

      @TheBimmerFixer  Год назад +1

      @Wayne Watson Hi Wayne thank you so much for the comment and subscribing I really appreciate it!!! You're absolutely right I did sorry about that. So it's the same kind of of connections as the bigger hoses. There is a little metal clip/band that you pull and lift and the hoses should then pull off. If you still have issues please let me know. 👍🏻

      So if it is a bit different and the pipe shown in the video is missing like it is on my BMW, how am I supposed to do the flush then?… I’ve been on this one for hours but no luck whatsoever; all videos out there show this particular hose and nothing else.
      Any tips? Thanks.

  • @brightsidesuicide
    @brightsidesuicide Год назад

    So first you put rad cleaner, start the car and let it idle for 15/20 min? Another question ... How to top it off properly before the bleeding process? Or just pour the amount that you flush? Because it takes maybe 5l till it says full, of course befero the bleed

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  Год назад

      @Negatyvas Yeah thats right or however long it takes for the engine to get to operating temperature. For the cleaner to get access to the whole system the thermostat needs to open to circulate the coolant. I filled the system with 5 litres then drain and repeated it until I got it as clear as possible. Hope this helps.

    • @brightsidesuicide
      @brightsidesuicide Год назад

      @@TheBimmerFixer So you pour water during the bleeding process and after it says full you put the cap back? I dont get the correct way to do it 😄 What is the operating engine temperature?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  Год назад +1

      @Negatyvas 😂 I know I thought it would have been a lot more straightforward. Yeah so I filled it then put the cap back on because the system needs to pressurised to circulate properly then drained it again and then put the antifreeze in and did a final bleed. So the temp gage on an e60 is on the outer edge of the rev counter when you can see 3 or 4 white lines your at running temperature. I have a video to show it in more detail if you wanted to see it properly. 👍🏻

    Hi is this process the same for the m57 engine?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  Год назад

      @casey bramley Hi, it's very similar but the bleeding process is different because the M57 has a mechanical water pump not electric so you wouldn't have to hold your foot down on the accelerator to trigger the water pump for the bleed. Hope that helps and thanks for the question 👍🏻

    Why is the flush done on turned off engine? Also whats the point of bleeding on turned off engine also? Cant i just turn on the car till temprerature reached, take out the water, refill few times and then fill with coolant and be done?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  4 месяца назад

      @DanailFilev-xl5gc It's all done to save a bit of time and to avoid putting cold water/coolant into a hot engine. If you put cold water/coolant in when the engine is hot you can run the risk of cracking the block or thermostat housing.

      @@TheBimmerFixer thanks for quick reply. Seems abit of a headache but ok. Just a question. So each time you flushed it did u turn the engine on to temp? Or u just added the water each time and immediately flushed? Thanks

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  8 месяцев назад +1

      @moizhaq5840 Yeah its a bit of a pain but a couple of times should be fine if you coolant isn't too bad. So I would let the engine get up to running temperature so that the thermostat would open then drain it. Just be careful putting cold water into a hot engine I boiled the kettle so the water was warm/hot when I filled it back up to flush it again. If you didn't want to do that you can just leave the engine for a while to cool between flushes.

      @@TheBimmerFixeryes thanks. So each time flush you add 10 litres of water? Just thinking how to do that many times as kettle holds about 1.5 litres 😂 so would take forever aha. Hi man!
    I did this , I changed my coolant tank and then I put fresh coolant , I bleed it.
    Now my problem is that the temperature of the water is no longer reach over 95 degrees and is stuck on 75 degrees, that s not normal temperature of running, plus my fuel consumption increased 2 litres.
    I could be possible to broke my termostat by doing that operation or what could be the problem.
    P.S. the water pump is running properly…

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  8 месяцев назад

      @razvan1927 Hey Man, I would say the thermostat is probably to blame and the engine not getting up to temperature would definitely increase fuel consumption. Changing the coolant and flushing the system wouldn't break the thermostat itself unless there was something already in the cooling system and that has wedged the thermostat open. Before changing the thermostat though I would give the car another bleed or two I wouldn't rule out an air lock in the system. Let me know how you get on 👍🏻
