I started seriously collecting about 4 years ago when i wasn’t working full time. I got up to about 130, and while I’ve figured out what I grow well in my house, it’s too many to maintain now that I’m back at work. So, downsizing and setting up more wick/self watering pots is my goal.
To make dusting easier, use a very large cosmetic brush (body or face powder size) or go to the hardware store and get the largest, softest paint brush you can find. Another thing that works fantastically well on leaves with grooves: a duster wand (check Swiffer and O-Cedar brands) with microfiber head.
Luxurians can take up to a year to produce berries, dont take the inflo off. Cutting the inflo off just results in them putting all their energy into another inflo, if you leave them they will also produce leaves at the same time. I hope your 2025 is just as prosperous as 2024!! 🎉
I’m over my Adonsonii as well. It’s been on a moss pole & it would reach the top so fast & then the leaves get smaller. Maybe if I took more time chopping & propping it would be fine, but I prefer a low maintenance collection. I have been coveting an Escaleto lately 🤷♀️
I still have one esqueleto in rare plant inventory and I can’t wait for it to be gone. Runner central even the one that I had on a tree fern fiber pole. And they grow so crazy fast it is definitely a lot of maintenance
I was saving this video for a quiet moment to enjoy it. 😊 So many have issues with their Thais, and mine I bought like 3/4 months ago has been nothing short of super easy. I only water it when completely dry and keep it under good grow light. One leaf pushed out under my care and another one is on its way. I love my little regular Wendlandii, can't wait for it to get bigger, I love that kind of green. I got my first Anthurium few months ago, Crystallinum, and added 5 more after that. Or wait, I added 7, but the last two are not those velvety type (Ferrierense Crisped and Brownii). The last two are the ones I'm most looking forward to see them grow. The rest is not exciting me, and I'm already a little over Anthuriums to be honest. Too big pots for just few leaves and they're all so much alike lol. I think I'll purge few of them soon, keeping my Forgetii though. I didn't know how much I would end up liking it.
@ ya, my anthurium mentor told me. She's been collecting since the 70’s which is why I didn't go down the rabbit hole. Let me know if you find anything interesting!
If you get another Thai Con, get one ‘born’ before 2019. I love mine and it doesn't rot. My 2023 version rotted out 3x before I rooted it and sold it with full disclosure on its history.
😆 I have similar situation I order Hoya during cyber week, but I prefer bigger leaves I have a Obovata, Carnosa oval splash, Davidcummingii (this one is very you type small leaves and beautiful), with my order I have a free plant an Hoya Maltilde 😆 I don’t know if I keep this plant or not. Very cool and fun video 💛🇨🇦 Plant goals 2025, finish the decor around the plants (install shelfs, install growth light at a better place, buy cache pots (many new plants not cache pots). I can only buy 5 news plants in 2025, I buy 15 plants 2024 😅😆 lack of space, lack of light, … my calatheas thrive very cool, but calathea at maturity is 2-3 feets wide by 2-3 feets tall. 😆
My plant goals for 2025 are: 1) edit my collection so that 90% of the plants that I keep are those that do very well in my home without much fussing over (distilled water, humidifiers, plant cabinets, moss poles) If I keep any "difficult" ones, they have to be truly special in more than one way. 2) reorganize plant areas so I can add grow lights strategically, if needed 3) move more plants to Lechuza Pon and LECA

Here you go making me add more plants to my wishlist🤣🙈 I look so forward to your videos every Saturday. I love them so much❤️

@ Well, that settles that. Thanks for being honest! I have an obliqua & those runners drive me crazy!! I didn’t know the escaleto did the same 😢

I've been told that the RadLux is sterile. So, if you get berries please let us know as I've been chucking the pollen. I love mine too!
I had not heard that! Excuse me while I go down a research rabbit hole now lol

Yeah i read the same

I don’t have Monstera, but I see a lot of people say the same as you every where. Thai Con V1 vs V2, the verdict is V2 is terrible far from the V1
A year ago i had 50 orchids and 4 plants. Now i have 40 orchids and 30 plants.

The floor Plant behind you, fell over 🌿🤷
??? No it didn’t…..
@@AlohaPlantLife but it does look like the plant to your right is leaning. Pot and all.
@ I promise you it’s not. I think it must just be a weird trick of the camera angle.
👍👍👍 Great video 😊 PS : Working for corporates SUCKS!😂😂
💯
Yes, please give us a wish list for 2025 😊
I just got into plants a couple months ago, and I will never be repurchasing a poinsettia again. That’s all I know from 2024.
Count me in as well.😅I bought one in 2023,rubbish! 😫
I know, I try yearly to keep them all year but they get to June or July looking tired and wimpy and then they just die. It’s sad.

I love these goals! 💚💚💚
Great goals.
Claris are uber slow. Don't worry
