Amazing Band !! I Am Canadian, Wishing i had seen them live, back then, Happily i don't live in Toronto. Wish they had come to B.C instead. Ken Ferguson Tuba player to the Extreme!! WOW
What a treasure to show the grand kids. A fantastic tour and a band at its very best and performing like this at the end of a hard 13 day tour unbelievable, probable kill me now lol...
One of the best brass band concerts ever recorded on c.d. You don't hear concerts even close to that standard anymore. One of the last of the great bands.
A stunning snapshot of the mighty Desford band conducted by the late but great James Watson from over 30 years ago recorded live at the Salvation Army Freedom Hall in Toronto 1990. The final concert of a demanding but incredibly enjoyable 13 day concert tour of the Mid West of America and Canada. A band truly on top of their game with a phenomenal concert program.
Carole Crompton = wow, just wow. Never heard any baritone player sound like that. Big sound and can hear her so easily all throughout the pieces. Massive tuba sounds from Dean Morley too. He was blowing that tuba like a monster.
What a sound and technical expertise, mind blowing
If this band were around.today they would by far be no.1 in the world
I come back to this at least once a year. Memories.
