You could just use a European style duvet with a duvet cover and a fitted sheet for the mattress. It makes making the bed in the morning very easy and unlike with a top sheet and comforter you don’t get tangled up at night.
I've used this option before, and whilst it's easier to make the bed, it's not comparable in a couple of other ways. Firstly, the zips keep in the warmth, rather than cool breezes sneaking under the edges at night. Secondly, it stops the bedding from moving around in the night, or falling off with movement (like my dogs jumping on and off the bed). It also has the kind of cosy snugness of a sleeping bag, plus the extra security of the zipper is like a firm hug. It can work for anxiety similarly to a weighted blanket. I'm just not sure how warm it would be.
You're welcome, we saw so many moms (a moms group on Facebook) who wanted Beddys but didn't want to spend so much. That's what made us want to find one.
Oh I see what you're saying. Here's a secret. I never made my bed regularly until I married my husband. He's the perfectionist but now it's easy because I'm in the habit. And our daughter is more like him than me. But secret. I'm not authorized to make our bed if we just washed the sheets. He's a perfectionist and I don't make it like he wants it so it's his job! Same with the towels.
I’m here to get a review of zip it. My daughter has the Beddy and I like to wash bedding every week. For me, the beddy is a pain!! Granted, she has a full size bed so it’s a bit bigger but I have to wash it in 2 parts because they are thick (though indeed very well made). Now because I have a regular washing machine (had a front loader and hated it so went back to regular old fashion washer), I now have to take it to my niece’s house to wash since she has a top loader without the agitator in the middle as mine does. It will not fit in my washer because of the agitator. So now because its so big, I have to wash it in 2 parts and those newer machines with the “bedding” cycle take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to cycle through. So about 2 hours just to wash each piece. Now drying. Oh boy! I have to dry them both separately because they are so big and I have to go to the dryer about every 20 minutes to “stretch” it out otherwise it turns into itself becoming a big ball which then causes the “inside of the ball” to stay wet. So to wash/dry both parts takes me seriously about half a day at my niece’s and I still of course have other bedding to wash on Saturdays (due to Covid, I stay upstairs and she downstairs while I wash which is a pain). I love love the design of the beddy and I love how well it’s made plus it’s really pretty but came here to see if the Zipit one might be thinner therefore more manageable to wash. Since they’re so inexpensive, after watching this review, I will definitely buy the Zipit to compare how the washing goes. Ill try to remember to come back and update. 😊
Wow thanks for leaving us so much detail! I didn't think about this aspect during my review because my washer could handle it. But I can see it being an issue. You could take it to a laundromat where you can wash it without unzipping. Zipit is more like a sleeping bag. It should be much easier to deal with. I only wish the fabric wasn't so slippery! Looking forward to hearing what you think after you try it!
If beddys' had a double zipper for each side, it would be perfection. That would allow you to release pressure on the feet. We have one and it drives me crazy for that reason.
Nope. It zips from the top down. So, you can unzip it down from the shoulder area. That is why I say a double zipper that would allow you to unzip from the bottom would be much better. Now they may have updated the design and fixed this since I purchased it, but I did check a bit back and it was still the same. Don't be confused by the fact that there are two zippers, but they don't function like a double zipper. It's more of a left-half right half single zipper situation.@@kimokat
And not only one but it has 2 pockets! I agree isn't that a great idea! My daughter loves the glow in the dark feature too. She says she likes looking at it when she wakes up on the middle of the night. She's not scared. So it's sitting on top of her other bed. I was going to donate it to a women's shelter.
I am considering this for my daughter’s college dorm. Do you have a link for the mattress protector and pad you used? I am concerned that the fit may be too snug to zip up with the pad and protector and wondering if I should size up?
Hi! I'm in Australia and Beddy's don't ship here, sadly. Given I spend most of my time in bed, Beddy's seems an ideal solution in many ways. I'm wondering whether anyone can provide alternatives available in Australia please? I'm used to having a mattress protector, fitted sheet and top sheet, then a thick quilt inside a quilt cover, plus an eiderdown across the foot of the bed. I often have a blanket under the quilt too. So I'm wondering whether the Beddy's set has more like the warmth and weight of a duvet? If so, adding extra layers of warmth on top of the Beddy's that then fall off seems to defeat the purpose. Beddy's is also atrociously expensive when you look at the conversion rates - over $500 for one set, and I'd need more than that. Anyone who can provide insight on this topic would be much welcomed. I've only just found this option exists. My search for accessible alternatives has discovered just the zipper sheet sets, not the whole bedding zipper sets. Thanks to anyone reading this!
@@CleanFreakGermaphobe I think it’s definitely worth it. I have spent more on a comparable quality blanket, fitted sheet and 2 shams. My only gripe is I wish they had brighter more vibrant colors.
Yes they are warm enough. My boys have never had to use another blanket or sheet to stay warm. We have never had any issues with the zippers. We wash and dry normally in the washing machine and dryer and never take any cautionary steps. We’ve had our for about 3 years and time to get new ones. Only because we want a change and not to do with any issues with the Beddys.

Yes ma'am, it was a must growing up and habit forming as an adult. But it gives you a different energy coming home to a made up be opposed to it not being made.
I used to be a person who didn't make the bed every day. I thought it was uptight to even worry about it. But my husband insists and we make it together. It makes our room look so nice. Now it's just a habit to make it right when I get up. It's so easy I barely think about it. Totally worth it in my opinion.
Um...YEAH..it all depends on how you were raised. If the parents don't give a dam# then neither will the kids. I also take it that you've never been in the military either...lol because that is one of thee biggest learning curves and baked in core memories for vets--making up their beds and keeping everything in tip top shape and put away for inspection.
Very well actually. Both our kids had Beddy's for a few years. We washed them regularly. Held up well. Honestly, we make nothing from you buying Beddy's. Only if you use our link and buy Zipit. But if you can afford it, there's no comparison.
Quality makes such a difference, like the zip comparison. The first things to give on my current bedding sets were the zips, and they weren't cheap by any means. My other concern is breathability. Polyester can give me the sweats, it and doesn't adjust to temperatures like cottons and other natural fibres. I've experienced minks that sweat and those that don't, but I love the idea of the coziness of this option. Any insights would be great please!
Mine ripped at the center after 4 and a half years so id say it holds up pretty well, it was an older beddy aswell i have a new one now and the quality got better so def beddy for the win
I Can NOT justify the money for Beddy’s……Yes, it’s a great product but if you have more than One child… you would need at LEAST 2 sets per bed.. That’s a TON of money.
I agree. In my opinion there are way better things to spend money on than a zipper bedspread. I have 4 kids... there is no way my husband would ever approve of a purchase like that
@@stephanieniksa917 They grow up and eventually learn how to properly make their beds. In the mean time, My son’s bed is against the wall, so his comforter is tucked in on one side. Works very well. Yes they do. That's why I was looking for another alternative. It's like $30 but of course not the quality. I bought it from their website. They have sales but it's still on the higher end. At least it's well made and will last.
Why do you assume that? You have 2 sets, which most people do anyway. Use one set whilst washing the other. I initially thought the sets were expensive, but when you compare them with buying a similar quality top and bottom sheet, duvet or quilt+cover, it's actually cheaper. It's also a more hygienic option as quilts aren't cleaned as often, and some people benefit from this.
