    I dont think i could ever trust a bar like that. I've seen too many fail videos with bars like that.

      So far it seems stable. However, the 1st version of this I had wouldn't grip at all, so I am always skeptical of it.

    I just got this bar and it feels pretty sturdy. I will add one inch pieces of sanded wood to the either side of the door frame for added protection and then place the bar. I might also add brackets under each side to keep it from slipping. Hope that helps keep even sturdier.

    the advantages and disadvantages you mentioned most of them applied to this type of pull up bar.
    there another useful trait of this type of pull up bar, and it is the ability to hange or attach suspension trainers like gymnastic rings or TRX.

      @GamerBody  3 месяца назад +1

      True, just make sure you only do exercises with it in the vertical plane. I don't think it is built for horizontal movements.

    • @wahabwahab7919

      @@GamerBody I do exercises in horizontal plane like rows , biceps curls, triceps extensions , and other similar exercises. It depends on the quality of doorway pull up bar. I will not be surprised if you pulled of your doorway pull up bar mid way exercise due to your weight.

    Hey man! Any updates on this pull up bar? I heard that jay flex was working on a new cable system to work with dumbbells. I was thinking of buying this bar to use for the cable system . Does it stick to the frame well ? Have you had any damage to your door frame when using it?

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  28 дней назад +1

      No damage myself, but I have read comments that if you have the bar press too hard on the inside of the frame, it can lead to separation "cracks" in the upper corners where the boards meet. I'm not sure the bar would hold it (depending on your door width) but it has surprised me with how well it holds my weight - you just have to watch out for the potential cons and make sure your frame supports the resistance you are looking to use.

    Did you hear any cracking in your door frame when you were setting it up?

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  2 месяца назад

      Not for me, but I have seen reviews of other people creating a "crack" or separation at the corner of the door. Mine had already separated before I installed it, but it is something to be aware of and to watch out for.

      @@GamerBody Thanks for replying. I'll probably just put some pillows underneath while doing pullups until I feel comfortable 🙂.

    Hy .. can we use resistance band with .. dopr way pull up bar for pull ups ? Near 40-45 kg ?

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, they will work fine. Just make sure the setup you have supports your weight. Note - ONLY use them in the vertical plane, do not do horizontal-plane exercises with it.

    The one I’m looking at on Amazon has got spirit levels on each end. You didn’t mention these. Is this a different model?

      It is amazing how sturdy it has felt so far. In the back of my mind though, I am preparing for it to fall.

    two words: WATCH OUT!

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  8 дней назад

      What's funny is I've actually been pleasantly surprised with this pull-up bar with continued testing. The bar just works. I still feel like I'm going to fall, but once I setup for the exercise, the bar just stays in place and is solid every time. I can't knock it too hard since it has actually done very well, I just need to mentally get over how it is on the inside of my door.
      Note: I also use it with the ACBEE J hook handles as it is more comfortable to do pull-ups with it.

    Ok, so mine has just arrived. Fits ok into door frame, but seems to be a different model, with just a central spirit level and levers on the side. Can’t figure out the instructions. There are more stages on mine than you show on yours. Last stage is side levers. Have I purchased the wrong thing or out of date model

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  2 месяца назад

      Mine doesn't have any "side levers". It has a bubble level so you can make sure it is straight, but other than that, you just twist it to fit the door, then secure it with the twist locks at the end. It may be you didn't get the right product.

      I was just looking at this on Amazon and there's actually a newer model that's $49.99 normally while the older model is $39.99 normally.
      The older model looks like the one in the video while the newer model has different ends. They're kind of shoe shaped; the shorter heel-end is at the top and doesn't go too far past the bar and the longer end points to the bottom and looks like the foot part of a shoe. That lower part has a lever you push in like you said.

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  2 месяца назад +1

      Hmm not sure. So far the one I have (in the video) holds me way better than I expected. I would hope the newer model would do the same, but that's not always the case.

    • @MendozaMichelle100
      @MendozaMichelle100 2 месяца назад +1

      @@GamerBody It seems to have good reviews, and in the reviews section someone has kindly clarified the fitting instructions, so I should be OK now.
      Also, I hadn’t thought about it before, but I see they show one can place it further down the door and use it for push ups too, which might be useful.
