Hi friends, What is your experience with Chanel makeup lately? I know a lot of you have been feeling the same way. With that being said, I worked a lot lately on a new video where I will show you the best Chanel makeup that hasn't been changed and that is worth purchasing. Of course, I will share also the all the fails that I had and what to avoid.

    • @DeborahCarlston
      @DeborahCarlston 7 месяцев назад +28

I agree 100%. I've been saying the same thing about Chanel. I haven't checked my Water Fresh Tint. I have a backup. But if those have gone bad I will never buy it again. I used the Complexion Touch yesterday, and it was still fine. I have a backup of that too. Again, if that has gone bad, I will be furious.
These are expensive products and they should be reliable. I had to throw out the Kosas foundations in less than 3 months. So I will never buy that brand again. With the newly, obscenely high prices of Chanel and Dior, I want preservatives in my products. I don't use the same makeup every day because I work from home. So those expensive products have to last to be worth the investment.
I got the new Abyss eyeliner, and it is hard to apply. It's hard and dry. I wondered why everyone said they loved them. As for the new face palettes, save your money Dear Lady. I've already seen them reviewed by other RUclipsrs. They are nothing special. I have better options with my 6 pan Hourglass palettes.
And the eye shadow singles are a cash grab. Same with Dior. So I will take that journey, using other brands, along with you. I'm already doing it.
I skipped the whole Spring launch. Incidentally, I feel the same way about Dior makeup. I used to buy their entire seasonal collections, in at least one color way, every year. Now I don't. They copy each other so much that they are releasing nothing new. The color stories are too trendy for a luxury line and the prices for throw-away products are ridiculous.
I am enjoying brands like Cle de Peau. Excellent quality and they seem to understand luxe. My Chantecaille Future Skin and Skin Tint still seem OK after many months of occasional use. Although their color launches have been disappointing in the past couple of years. I'm exploring some Japanese and Indie brands. And I stay away from "clean beauty". Because as far as I can tell, that simply means that there are no preservatives.
If you read this whole rant, I thank you. You struck a nerve with this video. I have been saying this for months and thought nobody was listening. I'll look forward to your new videos. They sound exciting. I'll be watching. Happy Sunday and thank you for your honesty.💚

I’ve been disappointed with every Chanel makeup that I’ve bought from within the last six to seven months, so I’m holding on to everything that I bought back in the “before time,” haha.
I wouldn’t be surprised if their perfumes are going to be on the chopping block next, so I already have three backup bottles of “Coco Mademoiselle.”
Basically, they have lost my trust.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Luxury brands cannot continue to raise prices AND lower their quality, and expect people to continue to buy. I am definitely not on the "clean beauty" train. Those preservatives were there for a reason. I prefer them to be there rather than growing mold and mildew in my cosmetics. I agree that there are many interesting brands out there to explore. I have tried YSL and Prada more recently and the quality has been lovely.

It is brave of you to delve into this, Angela. And I applaud you for it. I stand with you in sadly admitting that makeup, and even Chanel's, is being subjected to the lean, clean, mean and green economics.
I've had L'Oreal serum foundations turn in five months, eye shadows from Dior irritate my eyes and mascaras from both ends of the spectrum cause itchiness at the corner skin of my eyes.
If Chanel insists on going this route, it simply means I spend less and more judicially than before. Surely that means buying only the bare minimum with the aim of using it all up before it goes bad. It does not make finiancial sense for Chanel to push us into reducing our spending.
Chanel has always been consistently good, reliable, effective and fail proof. I never thought I'd live to see the day I pay luxury prices for sub par quality products made with recycled and biodegradable materials.
Thank you for opening up the discussion that needs to be had about this matter, Angela. I hope others will appreciate that you have done this for us with our best interests at heart.

I have been thinking of doing this video for a while and I am happy that I had the courage to speak up for everyone. It looks like a lot of people have been feeling the same way and have been noticing the negative changes. The truth has to be said. I have been very faithful to Chanel for years but now it just feels wrong to pay so much for makeup that is not the best quality. From now on I will be a lot more strict when I assess Chanel's makeup. We are all customers and we work hard for our money. We deserve good quality makeup. Have a wonderful day and once again thank you for the message. It means a lot.

While I completely agree that luxury prices should provide high quality products, why is it wrong that brands use recycled and biodegradable materials? It’s not about the so called “green beauty” ( because at the end of the day it’s not green at all) but about building a more sustainable brand For a more sustainable world which luxury brands should not be exempt from.

@@marianasantillantrejo1131 No excuses for higher prices then. Let's look at woollen jumpers. Why should I pay premium price for a woollen blend with 50% polyester? A 100% polyester jumper can be found for $20 at Kmart. A smarter move all round to buy the Kmart one. But I WANT wool. I choose premium. I buy Chanel FOR what they have provided with their makeup.
I am finding others are trying to force my morals, my choices into theirs. Sustainability comes in many ways. I have a bike, I use PT, I bury our food scraps, reduce waste and so on. I am 66 years old. I was a professional working woman for 35 years. Chanel for decades was my go to makeup. I would buy lovely quad eyeshadows, blush and lipstick and apply my makeup and be ready for my working day. I actually do not buy as much Chanel anymore. I do enjoy the Sublimage serum foundation and it has not gone bad, but I found the Cle de peau radiant foundation even nicer and it’s a few less dollars. I think YSL came out with lovely eyeshadows and I bought most of them. I have always loved Dior eyeshadows and blush, I do enjoy the new liquid highlighters. I was flabbergasted when I saw their commercials for Chance fragrances before Christmas 2023: three teenage girls dolled up in Chanel clothing, giggling and jumping around in an amusement park. I just don't relate to Chanel as a youth-oriented company. I believe they've made a big mistake going "cleaner" in their formulations, compromising the longevity and quality their loyal customers depend on. And "little things" like omitting velvet pouches and little brushes will cost them eventually in customer loyalty and sales, as the prices have remained the same or higher. (Young people tend to flit from company to company in search of "newest" and "coolest". They won't hang around long.) I also think customers have the right to be told when formulations change.

Chanel used to be my favorite and I stopped purchasing about 18months ago.. the quality is not the same, the appeal is not the same. I am disappointed in the changes, the colors….everything. Even their web site has changed. I think they are marketing to a young generation that do not want elegance and timeless looks.

    • @Frenchforaday
      @Frenchforaday  7 месяцев назад +13

Hi Cheryl ❤️️ Nowadays, the youngest generation is the most active on social media and that's why Chanel try to follow trends. But trends only last for a few months. One of the comments here said: Chanel became followers. I fully agree. In the past they were setting trends. They were timeless and reliable. I think that Chanel and other luxury brands didn't take into consideration that women who are 30+ and all the way up to 80+ are the most reliable customers. We are the ones who need to have good quality and we are willing to pay for it. We are the reliable customers and we want quality for our money. The youngest generation is very active because they are growing up and experimenting and trying to be different and shocking but this are not reliable customers, They live for the change; to jump on the next big trend. They grow up and they change quickly. So overall I think Chanel made some bad business decisions. I hope they will bring back the old quality and I hope they will become the timeless and powerful brand that they used to be in the past.

I'm so glad that you made this, and appreciate your loving honesty more than the brand. I know that you'll find high-performers out there, it's such a disappointment that the spreadsheet is dominating the decision-making at Chanel. It was awful compared to the previous ones I purchased. No color payoff. I really should have returned it. I think it is all about the money at this point. If products go bad faster, they think we will buy more to replace. I firmly believe the green/clean makeup movement is just a money making scam because the product goes bad so quickly. Hence, you repurchase more. I am simply not wearing as much makeup these days and will not be buying more. I watched this post with great interest and I appreciate your honesty tremendously, especially as a loyal and longterm Chanel consumer as most of us here in your community are. Being disappointed in new releases has led me to be more discerning about my luxury makeup purchases and I have found myself passing them up if they did not offer an improvement on something I already had in my collection or was not an intriguing enough product. While I can cope with being let down by new products, it is being upset with the lack of quality with those trusted permanent items that have been repurchased for years that makes me upset. I have been a consumer of Chanel, Dior and Lancôme ever since I first started wearing makeup in my late teens (I'm now a grandmother), I don't ever recall being let down by the quality of these brands. Rethinking purchases, not rushing to quickly pick up new releases, exploring new brands, are all things I can see myself doing.
Personally, what this shift in quality has also done for me, and this may be a little off-topic here, is to focus more and enjoy the products I already love. For example, every spring season there is an abundance of new bronzers coming onto the market, and as a makeup lover, I want to try all the ones that are cool leaning, and maybe offer a little glow, but how many of those do I already own? Too many are in my drawers and not one of them have ever been used up to the point of hitting pan. Can you really re-invent the wheel? So while I may be open to exploring new brands, I will show more appreciation for those items sitting in my makeup drawers.

My staples were the old Chanel blushes and the prior formulation Dior quints. Just beautiful products. Both were reformulated and ruined. I agree 💯 that these brands are now just chasing markets and $ and brand reputation is increasingly built around exclusivity vs the quality and originality that made us loyal. Just witness the astounding cost increases in handbags and fashion across the two iconic brands. They’re focused on fewer, wealthier buyers and products for the younger market and our demographic is no longer a priority. I’m sad but these brands aren’t the only game in town, as people have cited, Prada products are beautiful and Byredo recently released a fabulous 18 pan palette for $115. There is hope!

I did not like the last makeup artist who designed their collections. Too much warm colors, too many red eyeshadows. When I was young, every season a brand would come out with a color story in warm colors and cool colors. And I would replace my makeup with each season because I could always find something that suited me. I cannot wear warm colors. Then the blushes were reformulated - I bought many of the old formula before they were gone. But my worse Chanel experience happened during COVID. I wanted a few Chanel nail polishes. They were sold out online everywhere and in all my local stores - I called them all. I found out that a Chanel boutique near me had all the colors I was looking for. But they wouldn’t sell them to me because I wouldn’t go to the store in person and fill out some sort of questionnaire with all my preferences. During a pandemic. I stopped buying Chanel after that. Isn’t the purpose of any business such as Chanel to make sales?

Hi Rose ❤️️ I fully agree! Chanel is a multinational company with solid traditions and people have certain expectations. I support young professionals. The Cometes are cute and amazing! I have no doubt they are talented too but just too young and inexperienced to run a company like Chanel and their makeup division. They are still kids. They explore and grow up and have fun and honestly I think they don't even realize the important positions that they have been given. They are supposed to be leaders but they are still kids. They act like kids; when I see some of their photos together; they are modelling. They are flirting with the camera. They don't look like leaders or creative directors. And they can't be at that age. They need some experience. Plus, it's really hard to have a solid vision when there are three people who are "makeup directors". There is no responsibility here. Each one of them relies on the other two and the final result is Chanel makeup being all over the place.

Agree. I’m disappointed in the Les Beiges oversized palette. I dislike oversized palettes as well. I’m glad they have a range of colors but they seem to be “off”. The lightest version is too warm. The highlighter of the medium rose gold is too dark. Most of the bronzers are very warm. Chanel used to make some beautiful bronzers in the past.

Thank you for highlighting this. I noticed that the powders also have started to hard pan so much quicker. I paid a lot for two of the limited edition face powder and larger blush product and they were unusable within 2 months. I haven't bought any since.
What is concerning is, I hadn't noticed the foundations but I just tried my no1 and it does smell funky.
I wonder since Chanel have scaled back the fragrance in their products, we are now noticing this. The preservatives are being taken out and sadly, this is going to shorten off SL.
My Les Beiges foundation is older and has the Chanel scent is still fine and the complexion touch is to.Phew!
I think most brands are losing their special touches, brushes and pouches and feeling more high street than high end.
The large Les Beiges trio powders look great but are similar to some I had years ago. I want the medium coral pallet but I also like the look of the medium rose gold to.

    • @Frenchforaday
      @Frenchforaday  7 месяцев назад +1

Hi lovely and thank you so much for commenting! I am noticing the same with the newest Les Beiges sheer powder that I ordered. It's starting to get a hard pan. I think the problem with the foundations is not connected to less fragrance but more that they started to remove preservatives that keep makeup bacteria free and make shelf life longer. Overall, I am all for improving makeup quality and the idea of sustainability sounds good but if we have to start repurchasing foundations every 6 months or so how is that sustainable? About the new Les beiges: I also want the the light coral, medium coral and and medium rose gold. I hope I can get them soon. I tried ordering from Harrods last night but they only deliver to UK so I have to wait.

I have been so confused, my Sublimage L'Essence de Teint foundation is expensive and after about 10 months I noticed it is all of a sudden looking darker than my other foundations and the only thing I could figure out is that it has oxidized. Also I do have both old and new Chanel eyeliners and the older ones feel softer, my newer ones are feeling dry and like they tug a bit at my eyes. 100% agree. I have suspected this of Chanel for the last few years, starting with the unannounced and unadmitted reformulation of Vitalumiere. It used to be called 'satin smoothing'. I wore it practically every day for over 10 years. Then I bought a new bottle and saw it was 'moisture rich'. The SA assured me it hadnt changed...when I put it on, it might ad well have been a different brand, and barely six months later it separated into an oily gloopy mess in the bottle!
Then they reformulated the beloved bronze universalle. Then the blushes. Then the concealer.
They had a BEAUTIFUL Les Beiges tinted moisturiser that was around for, what, two years? Then discontinued that, too.
Incidentally I have noticed things vanishing in their skincare, too. The beloved nutrition cream is no more.
(And when you spoke about a strange 'off' scent in your bases, I have to admit, I might be smelling it too in the most recent hydra beauty lotions..)
Such a shame. These products were non-negotiables for me for so many years. So many older Chanel products were.

As a long time Chanel makeup lover, it is disappointing yet sadly inevitable that they are moving in the direction they are. Chanel products used to be absolutely reliable. I very rarely buy Chanel makeup now. The exception was the winter Les Beiges collection. That was absolutely beautiful but again, has been the exception.
The brand that I have been consisting turning to for the last few years has been Sisley. Yes, they are expensive but the quality is exceptional and is definitely geared towards the more mature beauty customer (which I definitely am!)

Hi Angela!!! Thank you so much for addressing this. Very brave of you, and I have even MORE respect for you now, since I know your love & loyalty for the brand, this could not have been an easy video for you to make. It is so unfortunate, and sad, that these powerhouses, and LEADERS in the industry, are now actually becoming the FOLLOWERS :( Trends are exactly that. Trends. It may last a minute or a few months, but a trend is not timeless. Chanel was the epitome of "timeless". A brand that stood for quality and sophistication, and made me feel special and "powerful" wearing my Chanel products. It was the full experience, from the packaging to application and longevity. I recently bought the Chanel No 1 foundation and I literally ran now to sniff it LOL!! I have noticed the decline in quality and overall customer experience with DIOR aswell. Recently purchased a quint, and there was no dust bag with it? I queried it with the SA at Dior and he said they no longer come with dust bags... but we are paying more now than we did last year, and the year before that, so where is my damn dust bag!!! haha! It is infuriating that 2 of the leaders in the beauty industry are following trends now and compromising their quality by going "clean". I want my preservatives because I want my makeup to last as long as I need it to, especially when I am paying premium prices! I will no longer be purchasing from Dior or Chanel. Dior was at least vocal and upfront about their reformulations, so the customer had the power of making a better, informed decision of purchasing products, whereas Chanel is being sneaky by not disclosing it, and that doesn't sit right with me. Chanel has lost their sparkle. They used to be an enigma, and I wanted to be part of that world, since I can't afford the clothing, being able to purchase the makeup is the next best thing. Truth be told, if they wanted to make such big changes within their brand, I would rather them have gone Cruelty Free than "clean" . Thank you Angela for keeping true to your principles and keeping us informed! Excited for your next series! Sending much love from Cape Town xxx

Very well said. My first luxury makeup purchase, aged 16, was a Chanel eyeshadow quad - Les Mats 1. It was perfect - the product was smooth, highly pigmented, blendable and had staying power. 4 matte shadows - rich dark brown, a mid grey, sheer pink and sheer white. It came in a beautiful pouch. There were so many looks that could be created with that palette. My best friend also bought one and teamed it with dramatic red Chanel lipstick while I preferred the browner tones, the palette suited us both. We are 51 now and we STILL talk about that palette, truly a timeless piece and worthy of the Chanel logo. This mermaid reformulated rubbish is not worth buying.

I recently repurchased all three of my Chanel foundations, Water Fresh Tint, Complexion Touch and No1. I will be very disappointed if they go bad in less than 6 months. I want my foundations to last a year and I don't want to pay luxury prices for poor quality. I know that Chanel is not cheap and yet I have been willing to pay the higher price to get a good quality, luxury experience. I agree with you whole heartedly, Angela. I know it is crazy but I have old palettes that I can still use without issue! I don't have sensitive skin, eyes or lips but I have the old Chanel Venetian palette that I just recently used a color from it and it still smells fine, applies great and wore just as it did when I first purchased the palette, many, many years ago. I also just purchased three of the lipsticks and love the colors that I purchased. I am a lipstick girl so if they go bad quickly, I won't purchase anymore lipsticks from Chanel!! I have seen a couple of review videos for the newly released mono shadows. I have a couple of the older mono shadows and still use them. I really only use mono shadows when I am looking for a very specific color as using a quad or quint works better for me. I also travel and don't want to take a bunch of mono shadows along. It just becomes unwieldy and there is more chance of shattering. If I take two quads with me, I have everything I need for several looks and most can be dressed up or down for whatever you might need on a holiday. I also agree with you about the oversized palettes. The size of the packaging gets bigger but the amount of product goes down. There are so many good drugstore brands and Indie brands that make exceptional products and I have stayed loyal to Chanel and Dior because I was willing to pay for that luxury experience but not if the product is inferior. It will be interesting to see what happens over the course of the rest of the year. I purchased the last e/s palettes primarily because I wanted the one with the lovely coral/pink to use as a blush and not on my eyes!! I look forward to your upcoming announcement. So exciting!!

Like every other brand out there, I feel Chanel has some good things, and some things that don’t impress me at all for the price. Probably more of the latter for me. I don’t care for Chanel lipsticks, eyeshadow, powder face products, or most of the skincare, and I’ll never understand the love for their mascaras…but love the foundation, nail polish, pencil liners. Too bad if any of those things are changing, maybe I’ll stay away until I know more. The whole “clean” thing just annoys me. From everything I have read, it’s a scam, just another sales and marketing tactic. Guess I better use up my Water Fresh tint before it goes bad.

    Totally agree with you!!
Makeup and cosmetics created under the umbrella of “Clean Beauty”, “Vegan”, etc. which works very well on young skin and virgin hair, not on mature skin and gray hair and chemically processed hair!
They invested so much money in research and testing, currently with the knowledge they have I believe they can continue the good work without throwing away the previous one, but taking advantage of it and improving it and continuing without archaic testing processes that involve animal suffering and without harming the environment .
But for whatever reason they opt for "winding" paths and prefer to lose the quality of the product, which keeps customers loyal, for quantity without quality!
The market is saturated with brands, all doing the same with weekly launches of more of the same!
Currently, everything is made to be consumed quickly without even thinking about it, from television series (one season is consumed in a weekend) to cosmetics and makeup that we cannot work with properly or that last 2 months and we have to throw away (packaging practically intact ) because they take on a questionable smell or color!
Excellent video and reflection! Thanks for sharing!
    Continued good work!

As a professional makeup artist for nearly THIRTY years I agree completely. It's happened to Dior too. Literally smelled mold in some new lipliners recently. I would way rather the preservatives over mold. If you want clean beauty buy PUR. Chanel was one of the first lines I worked for as a very young artist, and this pains me. Their eyeshadows were so beautiful back in the day. Now Natasha Denona is my favorite eyeshadow formula.

I believe that you (and us) should return the foundations or other items if they don’t smell good! It’s not about refund (which isn’t bad) but rather making a statement! If everyone did it then they would listen and not be so hasty to follow a trend (clean) which I think will eventually fade away cause it’s not sustainable! That trend is better for the indie or drugstore brands because people aren’t paying that much money! 😊❤

I don’t wear makeup every day so if the foundation is going bad in 6 months then I need to find a new company for my foundations. Or are they all the same? As for mascara, I started getting the small mascara samples with my orders because they last a couple of months and then I dump them. At least I didn’t pay extra for them. I hardly ever ‘use up’ any makeup so throwing it away after 6 months is not good for my wallet. Am I going to have to abandon Chanel? I hope not

I’m a working women in my early 40s and I love luxury makeup but lately I feel that the quality isn’t what it used to be, I’m paying extra money to buy my favorite brands but the experience isn’t what it was before unfortunately! So my strategy is to pick and chose between the collections. I’m not interested at all with the upcoming beige collection and I don’t like the oversized palettes at all. And I find myself reaching more to other brands such as Kjaer Weiz and others! So yes, I’m starting to loose interest with my favorite brands 😢

Great video. I feel blushes were ruined. Also, I used to be such a big purchaser of the brand and buy full collections but now CHANEL is not made for me. I am light blonde with green eyes. Good for you for you, and thank you for your honest and brave review! Overall, Chanel has been adrift since Karl Lagerfeld's death. Most of the clothes are dowdy, unflattering or downright ugly. They are just coasting on the brand's legacy and prestige, but they now need a visionary, talented designer to revive the brand and make it desirable again. As for the beauty and makeup - they probably have no choice but to jump on the clean bandwagon. But they should then make the bottles smaller, or people will stop buying the products after they lose half of a very expensive bottle that went bad. If they don't - before long everyone will begin exploring other brands, like even you, a diehard Chanel fan, are now doing.

I totally agree, the main issue is the change in preservatives. They are following this " natural " sourced ingredients trend and that's why products don't last as before.

I have been a Chanel makeup lover like you for years , and I am very sad what has happened recently! One of the things that I don’t like is the oversized makeup products, so I am not going to pick up the new healthy glow bronzer palettes. The thing that makes me the most said is the change in the way we buy makeup. I used to be friends with my Chanel makeup SA’s . They would show me the new collections and how to use the products. Now I cam bot able to purchase all of the products in store to try. The stores don’t have testers most of the time and don’t have stock either. This has really changed my makeup experience unfortunately.

It is not about bad quality. It is about changes that Chanel with full awareness have from a marketing perspective moved towards behaving in a fashion that can be interpreted as more “clean’ or more environment friendly. Before they used great preservatives like parabens and other ingredients that offer longevity but might be more controversial from a “clean” perspective that kept their products with a very long shelf life. But now they use very poor performing or no preservatives. And that gives a bad shelf life, and makes them change faster and work less. Therefore Chanel is to be viewed as a lot more expensive compared to before. As there is a difference between a product that can last you for years and a product that will stay fresh for a few months. And that too should be reflected in the price…

@@karinross6244 I totally agree. My point is that it’s not about lessening quality for the sake of lowering costs or earning more money due to financial problems within the company. But a result of choices made to seem more environmentally friendly and perhaps if lucky attract more customers who are into “clean beauty” and the environment… A consequence for the consumer however is always when brands choose to quit using good preservatives is that bacteria will begin growing faster in products and cause them to decay and turn faster… I am in no way a fan of this development!!

Dear Angela, I agree with you 100%! Chanel is not the same quality , it doesn't deliver the luxurious, phenomenal "wow" factor quality. I am so heartbroken by this :((( I am a long - 20 years CHanel makeup enthusiast and I know so many products that have been changing lately. I' m so disappointed with that especially their complexion products. The le beiges healthy compact powder after the formulation is very far from being the same product- it is hard as a rock in the pan and it takes hercules strength to apply it with the brush to the face. it doesn't spread easily. It's hard to pick up from the container. mine broke after about 3 weeks of use. Doesn't hold to even a mediocre quality. I purchased two of them in different shades. and they both behave the same. Sadly, the new Le Beiges oversized healthy glow sun kissed powder that you've mentioned are also so disappointing. I have one in shade of Medium Rose Gold. It is just a mediocre powders , all three in the palette. Doesn't give my face anything particularly beautiful. They are hard to spread, and do not apply effortlessly , seamless look its quite impossible. I wanted to buy more colors- but I will not. It is not worth the price. So if I may , I will advise you and other buyers to try just one palette and see if you like that new quality. it is not the same as the previous gorgeous powder with the plisse pattern that were in the previous years. They were absolutely beautiful. and this product is nothing like it. I am so sad about Chanel latest concept of changing what was their number one landmark- exceptional quality that I saw my face getting , and it translated to gorgeous results of how my face looked. now- it is just ok. I know I will not be buying any more powders from them, no blushes, no bronzers, ,even if they look on the photos as something I know from the previous editions. The new formula - talc free is something I dislike due to lack of reliable quality. Thank You Angela for speaking about this issue and for your honesty on that beloved by many brand. It is so important to share honest , truthful opinions! all the best!!

That’s just sad. It seems like they’re using “clean beauty” as a cover for reducing quality, and reducing the luxury feel. So many brands have done this, almost shaming the customers for wanting that little extra. For example, from an entirely different product, Apple no longer included a new charger with iPhone, saying well it’s wasteful, you already have one. This is after paying almost $1000 for a phone. Similarly, evidently Chanel is using the same strategy, no dust case, no brush. Almost scolding the customer, oh that’s wasteful! Why a company would abandon a niche they have control of, such as delivering a luxury product, to switch to basic! If you make a product that is only going to last 6 months before spoiling, then make a smaller size, that’s truly wasteful!
