@cnich290 Gute is good not great. If we drafted more like the Eagles we'd have a superbowl. However, drafts are won in the later rounds and what Gute has done in round 4 especially is insane. With all that said, we need to start drafting people who can just play ball and not focus on draft numbers.
It’s tough to be underrated when you only play a third of the snaps as a 3rd year first round pick and are just a barely a net positive to the team. Hes only missed 4 games in his career. He’d be underrated if he was like a 5th round pick.
Most fans can't handle players that don't have 30 sacks, 15 int, and 12 ff... that was drafted at the end of the first round. Despite not realizing there are maybe 2-3 blue chip players in each draft. So thank you for realizing a player's true team value.
It's nice to hear that the stats directly relate to my opinion of last season. Thanks for all your work on this Andy, it assures me that I was paying attention. ;-)
I believe the game itself would benefit from the NFL reconsidering their position on not investing in a proper minor league system…the game would s suffering from declining play bc colleges are not minor league NFL teams anymore
Andy, when you say you watch every player on every play… does that mean you watch the same play 11 times? Or you just watch each play and give it a grade based on what you saw?
Historically, most players don't start to flourish until their third or fourth season. Go back and check out statistics for Driver, Jordy, and Davante, for example. I am expecting huge jumps from a bunch of guys next year.
The famous “third year” leap for WRs *used* to be a valid thing but since colleges have largely gone to pro style offenses, it’s not uncommon nor should it be unexpected for WRs to thrive as rookies.
Yeah, but under MLF, and given how bad of losses we suffered towards the end of last year, yeah, I fear we ain’t getting any better, especially since our team still hadn’t shown any real progress in fixing their many mistakes
Luke Getsy didn't have a lot of talent to work with at Chicago and Vegas. It's telling that Chicago fired his replacement midway through the season. Gardner Minchew was the QB for the Raiders, who were also gracious enough not to resign RB Josh Jacobs (& was the Packers highest graded player in this episode). What did everybody complain about Getsy when he was the OC for the Bears? "He calls too many screens." The REASON Getsy called so many screens with the Bears is because that Offensive Line was ATROCIOUS and was further exposed by Shane Waldron's offense. It's hard to run an offense when the offensive line is trash. The Raiders had a fringe QB as a starter, a missing RB, and a young offensive line that was still trying to grow. The one thing that you can say about Luke Getsy is that he can't make Chicken Salad when using Chicken Poop as a main ingredient, which isn't unusual. He just needs to prove himself in a more stable environment with a better put together organization and talent.
Carrington Valentine struggled protecting the boundary against the run and missed too many tackles in space, but he proved to be an effective player in coverage for Jeff Hafley. His coverage grade improved to 71.4 this season. Carrington Valentine didn’t give up a touchdown into his coverage, broke up 3 passes and created 3 turnovers, including 2 interceptions. His improvement in coverage suggests that he could be a capable starter next season in 2025. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
Andy's grades were posted on reddit, and the response was very positive.
One person asked who Andy was, so I posted the link to PAD on that thread.
The fact that the two top rated are both 1st year FA pickups says something about our recent drafts.
Yes sir, the two best players on the team were both FA pickups.
Gute not as great as many think, particularly in the early rounds.

Andy is the goat
Been waiting for this episode
Awesome thx Andy. I had forgotten that Jah had a pick six!
Wyatt was really good. He’s very underrated by fans. Wish he could stay healthy

Wish in one hand, 💩 in the other jk

I think the season is too long, too many games. Too hard on the players, especially the young guys, and we have a young team.
I believe the game itself would benefit from the NFL reconsidering their position on not investing in a proper minor league system…the game would s suffering from declining play bc colleges are not minor league NFL teams anymore
If they want such a long season they need to add more bye weeks. Extending the season and not giving them more rest is nuts.
Plus, 17 is such an arbitrary number
@@BuckyBadger513never thought about that. What if each team had two bye weeks? Would be a nightmare for fantasy 😅
I hope if they do decide to add more games, that they increase the roster size as well.
Why does it take so long for Matt to fill some of these coaching positions?
Andy, when you say you watch every player on every play… does that mean you watch the same play 11 times? Or you just watch each play and give it a grade based on what you saw?
Watch every play numerous times.
Any shot you could tell us the highest variance player game to game in their grades?
I am assuming the week one game against Philly was the one that was one of the lowest graded on defense

Pretty sure Buchholz is pronounced like "boo-colez"
Cheese gone bad
