You should try making it so you have to fly inside the cargo plane and land on a small runway inside, similar to how the carrier has runways inside as well.
Idea for the next challenge - A two part plane. Think of the way the Enterprise could split into saucer and drive section, see if you can do that Scrap. Design a plane, have a friend design another plane that shares a common connection point. Take off individually at first, then combine in the air and try to land the combined plane and keep it in once piece. Then take off combined, separate in the air and land as individual craft. Then for the third round, just see how many times you can combine and split without smashing eachother to pieces ;) Could be a pretty funny video, since the two planes are very unlikley to play nice once they're connected, making it hard to fly since you'd both have to try to cooperate to get anything done. I will stipulate though, you can *not* use the capture method you've been using! You'll have to come up with a new way to dock the two aircraft.
What if you jumped a submarine out of the water, into a catching bay on a plane? Closing some hooks fast enough might be rather difficult, but if the plane had a platform on the interior and a door through which the sub could jump through, you could have it rest inside the fuselage whilst the plane flies you about, before opening the door again and possibly tilting the resting platform down so that the sub can slide out and land back into the water.
Actual cargo door would be sweet, finding a way to simulate a mid air refuel also would be rad. And I agree doing these on the high seas map would add alot of interesting challenge
I have an Idea: You build a similar thing but the bottom of the plane opens Up and either the Wings are detachable or foldable so you could go inside from underneath then Close the bottom again
I seen this from yuezi’s perspective lol. I like how scrap man shows more of the building, but y’all make a great team. Definitely 2 of my fav trailmakers streamers!
Cargo plane with an open back and hollow inside... and a second plane with either detachable wings, or folding wings that can fly up and land inside the hollow body of the cargo plane.
by the looks of it Yzuei made the AN-225 wich carried the Buran space craft IRL (similar to the space shuttle but soviet) on its back meaning it would have made sense if you landed on the cargo planes back so you could land with the little plane attached
You still need to do a glider / tug aircraft. One builds a glider, with no engines, just a magnet on the front. The other builds a tug aircraft, with a long bar that can pivot in all directions at both ends, with a target that the magnet attaches to. Start on the ground, lined up (maybe use a ground vehicle to help), attach the magnet, the front of take off together. Fly together up to altitude, release and land on the carrier. Bonus points for re-connecting the magnet mid flight.
If you have a problem with the plane nosing up or down just use a trim in for the elevator if its just some little to medium nosing down, but if its heavily nosing down then its good to redesign it, so you can save time.
Two general Co-Op concept ideas: First would be to have a two seater vehicle that separates out one person into a smaller vehicle. The smaller vehicle has a turret so that when they are combined the one is the gunner. Second would be that the larger vehicle holds two smaller vehicles. The small vehicle driver docks one to swap to another. (it would be nice to see more two seaters in general though)
A large plane that flies right above the water and trying to pick up a submarine, submarine probably has to be going pretty fast though. Another idea could be to make a plane split in half and then have another plane try to fly in-between the split plane (plane's split halves still have to be connected by something but there has to be some space between the 2 halves for the second airplane) and have the big plane reconnect it's halves closing in on the smaller plane and holding that smaller plane inside.
😁😁😁 nice one. if the small plane could fold its wings up, you could pull it into the big plane. some pistons at the end of the catching polls should do it.
You should do another video with Yzuei where you both try to make the best guided torpedo :) That one that he made was good, but you might be able to do better if that is the entire goal of the video.
This reminded me of the real world concept of fueling planes in the air, this is done by planes that needs a lot of fuel during its flight and this is a real thing although idk how will you recreate a fuel concept in trailmakes but i challenge you to do is in trailmakers, fueling a plane in the air before it runs out of fuel.
Fun fact for who doesn't know that, the plane that Yzuei recreated is a An-225 created by Antonov, the only one of its kind and also the second biggest plane by wingspan (88m) his weight is around 285 000 kg, this plane costs around 200 000 000 - 250 000 000usd to build, his first flight was the 21st of December 1998. He's now kept in Hostomel's airport Where he is being repaired since the 24th of February 2022. For now there's no more information about it. He is most likely dead for now
Another way to attach without using the magnet is to use the spike connector, a piston or hinge, and a detachable block. This method only has a limited amount of use.
They should add a dock block that can connect to other dock blocks (when within range) it would be cool if you could attach the plane and bring it inside the other one with them basically making a flying aircraft carrier
I really enjoyed the edit before the arch stunt! You guys should do an video where you play a stunt plane version of the game horse/skate. You could do one normal round then a round where you guys swap builds.
You guys should do remote flying planes because now that there are cameras, you can use a plane without being in it and then trying to land that on the water
I still say you should try some ASW using your bomb launcher to mimic RBUs / Hedgehog launchers and something like depth charges. Everyone involved either makes a sub that sticks within set speed parameters and turn radius to try and evade the destroyer or everyone builds their own ASW destroyer and tries to sink the player in the sub. Rules: can only use guns if the sub surfaces, nothing going sonic speeds (speeds and turns limited), bomb launcher (RBU) has to have a 10 sec cooldown, depth charges require 10 sec cooldown, “main cannon” if that kind of gun is used has to have 1-2 second between shots, machine guns can just fire like machine guns. The point is to hunt the submarine and see who lasts the longest (sub’s top speed cannot match or exceed the ASW hunter for obvious reasons, the sun has to dodge, not outright outrun the destroyer), and one repair is allowed by both players (if a good guided torpedo can be made that both tracks a target and then circles and searches if it misses the target, but can be limited to only running for 30 seconds and can go after either the ASW or the sub itself like a real torpedo, and sub can carry… say… 4 of them?) to give it an edge. I blame seeing too many episodes of Cold Waters with Dot Mod lately for the idea… but, basically, would just love to see your bomb launchers moved from being a truck mortar to being an ASW Hedgehog system in some fashion, even just to see if the concept is possible, would be fun. Heh. ADHD brain.
When you use yaw to change your direction of flight, your passengers start filling barf bags and then you have a mess to clean. The rudder isn't for turning, its for coordination.
you should do an in air fueling, I'm not quite sure how you would quantify actually fueling anything in trailmakers but it would be a similar challenge to this.
You should do a multiplayer competition where an unarmed large cargo plane is defended by a small armed fighter jet, while being pursued by two armed fighters. All of the fighters would be able to repair infinitely and the challenge would end when the cargo plane cannot continue.
08:45 I wish I could have suggested this while you were doing the video, try landing belly to belly, so that the tail isnt an issue. But, that prop is going to be a pain no matter how you approach, I think?
You could try to land a flying vehicle on a car... A TV series in the 1960s called "Thunderbirds" did it in one of their episodes ("Trapped in the Sky" - in the episode, the aircraft couldn't open its landing gear otherwise a bomb would go off) I have a creation on the workshop that is a replica of the vehicle used in the TV episode - it's called "Thunderbirds Elevator Car" The principle was the vehicle sped up on the landing strip to catch the aircraft (there were 3 in the episode though)
Idea - hollow cargo plane for 1 player, player 2 build a a foldable plane. You have to fly towards the cargo plane fold up and get through the hollow part and out the other side - unfold and fly away.
this reminds me of the project the air force did with the B-36 trying to make a plane that could be caught by the b-36, which ended up making the ridiculous XF-85 goblin!
Day 1 of asking ScrapMan to make a 2v2 video where each team makes a cargo plane that launches a glider one person makes the glider another makes the cargo plane and whoever's glider goes the most far wins then each round both teams get 1-5 mins to upgrade the builds but they cant communicate while building so u have to be very careful with what u change. The cargo plane would launch the glider at a certain point or after a certain amount of time idk what would work better. I think this would be a great video and I really want to see it, keep up the amazing work you make my day every time I watch one of your videos.
Yall should do the same concept as this video except add one more person and make a hangar inside the bigger plane, then deploy each plane individually. That is if your up for the challenge.
You could try to dive with a small Sub into a big amphibious Sub that can also fly. Basically a big plane that can dive and also take a submarine as a passenger.
I think it would be so cool if you guys made a cargo plane that opened its walls and used the walls to grab the plane, kinda like the little plane was getting eaten by the big plane.
Hello ScrapMan, you should make a missile and separate aircraft(ac). The missile should be set on a particular trajectory so that it will hit the given target perfectly; Your goal is to change the trajectory of the missile using your aircraft(ac) by touching your ac's wing with the missile's wing; this maneuver will "slightly" change the trajectory of the missile, making the missile miss the given target. If this stunt is easy try multiple missiles.
You can use logic blocks with an output set to less than 1 as a sort of lower throttle mode, have both your regular button and another one that does the logic block. You can then dial in that other throttle to be the same speed as the big plane
I think the best way to fix the bug tail problem would be moving the back landing gear closer to the front and moving the pipes to the back where the end of the pipes would reach the beginning of the tail of big plane so your tail doesn’t collide with his plane so there would not be that much adjustments for the docking mechanism so I think it would work like that.
I didn't imagine that this would be the day where Amazon runs with *GPT55X* which has been hugely improved ever since the first rumors. Nothing can't be close to that and if I help one person here by showcasing this then I think my day was well spent. Good luck to all of you and stay happy even when times are rough
If this is possible, you should try mid-air docking but once docked, the docked person should have to get out of their seat and move to a passenger seat inside of the cargo plane.
Idea. Make a submarine that can dolphin out of the water and be caught by a plane flying over head, could be caught under the plane, or land on top of the plane.
You should make a aircraft carrier sub again, and land a sub-plane on it underwater, when i was watching the submersible aircraft carrier and plane i though you were going to land underwater so you should try to do that :P
You guys should do these docking challenges in the high seas map. Just to see how the weather affects everything
Agree
Now that would be cool
@scrapman please do this
That would be cool
YES
You should try making it so you have to fly inside the cargo plane and land on a small runway inside, similar to how the carrier has runways inside as well.
I was going to say that
YEEESSS that would be so awesome
Good idea
the small plane has to have folding wings too, i wanna see that
As a joke ruiner, carrier don't have runways inside them, they have hangar

YEAH HE DOES A REPLICA OF EVERYTHING
AND I LIKE THAT
THE AN 225
Even though she’s been destroyed, it’s builds like these that keep the legacy of the Antonov an-225 alive
Legacy of the Soviet Union
just a quick reminder the an stands for antonov
Bro made an A-225 for his cargo plane lol it’s cool
I thought the same… A beautiful aircraft with such a depressing ending… Miriya is now part of history.😢

where is that from
Technically it's his editor
@@FastOrix yeah you’re right

Maybe, rather than jumping the sub out of the water, you can "fish" the sub out with the plane.
They call that a sky hook
5:42 actually butter tho that was really smooth. Also is that an airforcepround95 voice clip?
You should try this same thing, but docking head on. Then try to land, using the bottom plane's thrusters as breaks.

its like arealrefueling, but 10x worse and i love it LoL
that was epic. how about some sort of firstperson challenges u and yuzie make?
An-225, a true beauty, glad to see it remembered
19:29 this is actually giving off a lil bit o' DCS vibes
Ayo scrapman wassup love your videos, been watching you for over 5 years your videos are apart of my morning routine
I seen this from yuezi’s perspective lol. I like how scrap man shows more of the building, but y’all make a great team. Definitely 2 of my fav trailmakers streamers!
Rest in peace, an-225😢
You wil be missed😢😢

in case anyone was wondering, Yzuei recreated the Antonov 225, which was originally developed to carry the Russian Buran space shuttle

Yoo, Yuzei built the Antonov Cargo Plane. That is awesome! Too bad it went unappreciated.
This is so crazy how long does it take you guys to do this.
Try making a semi with the same prongs to catch the plane and bring it inside
"like catching a baby" bruh wtf? 😂
the cargo plane is modelled after a an-255 btw
idea: make a plane that can split in half using pistons and catch a plane by retracting the pistons so the plane is in the splitting plane
bet you could have jumped out of the plane seat to the interior of the cargo plane, run around, then jump back in the tiny plane
Another way to attach without using the magnet is to use the spike connector, a piston or hinge, and a detachable block. This method only has a limited amount of use.
