Question: I have a new Alumacraft V16 with a tiller set up and want to pull my kids on a tube. Are the factory handles on the transom really strong enough to pull a tuber? Or are you better off mounting a couple U bolts (I hate to drill into the transom though)?

That particular tow harness is only rated for 170lbs. Great for kids, but that's it. They have other ones without the pulley that are rated for more.

U bolts definitely wouldn’t hurt, but I did use the set up directly on the stock handles
i’ve tubed on mine and since there’s two handles it should spread the weight and i’ve had 0 problems been doing it like 2 years now
They're a bit pricey, but maybe look into a TurboSwing

Rope rubbing on motor? Also looks like if you’re not paying attention that rope can’t get boogered up in your prop.
It’s a special rope that has added buoyancy so it won’t sink

I noticed the rope rubs along the engine when you were turning. Will this cause any issues?
No and it only did that when I was turning sharp at a really slow speed. Once you get going it's not a problem.
