This is what I love about ZyuRanger, on one hand it had dark and grim storylines like Burai's death story arc and on the other hand it had fun and lighthearted moments like this.
Japan has never been terribly big on tonal consistency. Probably has something to do with having a state religion that was slapped together from a dozen different tribal cults with some bits of Chinese Buddhism thrown in on top.

I love zyuranger because its a departure from the technology based plot lines of most sentai series. This was a purely fantasy out of time series and the big robo was actually a god. I know thats technically been in a few other sentais the robos being gods or the like, but i like how they had their own personality rather than just being a tool.

I like the implication that the bad guys just do weird shit like this whenever they're not doing evil stuff. It reminds you that at the end of the day, they're still people, even if they usually do evil things.

Ironically, Rita (the American version, played by Carla Perez) go as far as to line up her baddies and husband and do a Conga dance with them in celebration for successfully destroying the Rangers' Zords at the beginning of Season 3.
So much better than 99 bottles of slime on the wall what Rita used to sing in the US version. They should have had something like this instead. Good to see the rest of the villains joining in also.

Something else I wish they had adapted: Goldar and Scorpina’s relationship from the Sendai. They were husband and wife, and they even had a kid by the end of the show. Surprisingly, seeing it turned Bandora good. It’s complicated.
I loved how Bandora tried to act all ''I hate kids'' but then immediately caved in when she saw just how adorable the baby was. Evil or not, those maternal instincts will always win.
It looked like they almost adpated the idea since they were supposed to be a thing during zedd and rita's wedding. But since the actress that played scorpina in the newer footage walked out, they abandoned the idea.
Then the closest we got to Bandora raising a child was when Zedd wanted a child. That could explain their time off from Zeo for around a decade until Operation Overdrive.

zyuranger's story line is by far much better than power rangers. basicly all the footage comes from japan, as many of you already know that power rangers uses. but I recommend everyone to watch the original. I love power rangers, don't get me wrong, but zyuranger is just a better story line and no dubb cause it's original. it still was quite amazing that they managed to take the japanese footage and dubbed over it and make some clips and put it all together and make up a new story line. the episodes still matched episode for episode. like the dragon & green ranger both shows up in episode 17. so they that was cool. funny thing I thought also is LOKAR in power rangers is actually SATAN in zyuranger XD ah well, watch zyuranger everyone I think it fills up alot of holes in power rangers too, like why bandora(rita) became evil, can still be adopted into power rangers

THIS is why Zyuranger thumps MMPR's first season. In the latter, the villains annoyed me; Barbara Goodson's voice is like a car alarm dragged across a chalkboard. Here, the villains are actually interesting and fun to watch.
Zyurangers made me see her in a new light and regret the limitations of using stock footage to create Rita. I loved how Bandora very often was out in the field alongside her minions to fight the Rangers. And when she marches on Japan blaring this song? Hilarious.

I think it's because Saban didn't want kids to fully side with Rita, apparently her singing would have made her the most likeable character on the show.
TV247: Well considering how long Rita Repulsa ended up being in Power Rangers, maybe making her a more likeable character wouldn't have been a bad thing. But I suppose Saban wouldn't have known how popular Power Rangers would be in the beginning or just how long Rita would be in the show.

I think it's because Saban didn't want kids to fully side with Rita, apparently her singing would have made her the most likeable character on the show.
TV247: Well considering how long Rita Repulsa ended up being in Power Rangers, maybe making her a more likeable character wouldn't have been a bad thing. But I suppose Saban wouldn't have known how popular Power Rangers would be in the beginning or just how long Rita would be in the show.
The super sentai series had so much more life and realism in the characters
