Epic video! You can always tell how passionate people are about fishing by the disappointment in their eyes when they lose a fish. Your wife is hooked. That's so great.
You two have such great energy and chemistry. I'm not a fisherman, but I get why some people like to do it. I do like that you combine biking with it. excellent video
Hi Russell, I am down in Canberra Australia. We have a beautiful river that goes past our home. You have inspired me to head out and bike fish. Keep going with your videos. You are doing a fantastic job.
Looking forward to more fly fishing related videos! I've recently bought a travel rod/reel having been inspired by your videos. Hoping to take it with me to Scotland this year.
Another great one! Thanks for taking the time to highlight your process and methodology! The scenery was amazing. Bucket list crap right there for this Chicago boy!
Stunning nature you have over there! I enjoy watching your videos very much, you guys do a great job. Please keep it up! Also a very good advertisement for bicycles and fishing you did here. The first thing is one of my favorite things to do, the second one i never tried. But maybe I'll give it a try someday because of you. Greetings from Germany!
All the great gear and all I remember is the crocheted cozy.. And you me never be good at it, and I would have added "like golf" Great vid's keep em coming.
Never fly fished before, love this idea of the combination of the two activities. For complete newbies to fly fishing, do you have any recommendations on information sources to seek out? Gear to acquire? Expectations?
Congrats, beautiful video! That looks like an awesome trip, must try someday! On a side note, what is the soundtrack on this video? I've attempted to "shazam" the nice drums but no results are coming up for me...

Nice video you got here!!! Thanks! - what is that tube - I need one of those.. :)
If you think your way of fishing has something special, it's only because you didn't try to know if someone else had the same Idea That's what I've felt when I discovered this video
what a great trip, do you have the trail marked where to ride? Where do you recommend starting and ending, plus and tips? we are close by in Washington and would love to take this trip!
I really need to do this trail....you mentioned camping...is it only at designated sites or do you just go down by the river to find a place? Beautiful river....
You can camp where you want but generally the established ones are actually pretty nice and not too croweded. There are other ones for boaters but they have no facilities. Usually recommend ppl just use the designated ones so they don't have to worry about digging cat holes and carrying TP out.
is there a map available for this area?...starting point (city)...My brother lives in Sherwood and this would make a great trip to get some fishing in after I leave his place..
fun, setting up a bike fishing bike at the m0ment! using a spey r0d, s will pr0bably have t0 set up a rear rack fr vertical carrying ability, will see hw it wrks!
I know it's been a long time since you shot this, but I just found it. :) What you're doing is super inspiring. I'm and avid gravel rider and fly fisherman that lives in Portland, but I've never combined the two! I will be now. Thank you for the inspiration. How far did you ride in on this video and did you start from the mouth?
I'm just curious, with as much as guys are on the bikes why not use Tenkara rods instead? Do you guys just prefer the fly rods over tenkara? If so why?
+Richard Casio we have and use many tenkara rods as well and have lots of vids that feature tenkara rods. It really depends on the ride and the water. Sometimes I fish heavy subsurface flies or know that I need a lot of reach so a western rod is more appropriate, or the species is not tenkara appropriate (like big steelhead). It just happens this vid has just western fly rod footage.
Love this video. Hope it finds a wide audience because it really explains the synergies between cycling and fly fishing.
Stunning movie , fishing and cycling with amazing scenery and good music. In danger of being one of my top ten RUclips’s

Awesome. Thanks!
I recently combined an overnight fatbike camping trip with my fishing rod. I'm more of a spin fisher though. Great vid as always.

This is the perfect combination! Bikes, camping & fishing!!
This is so great. I hope to be able to get my husband into some bike fishing at some point.
Just finishing my Gravel bike built, Soma Wolverine.
And with these cool videos.. you are keeping giving me new ideas !

What are you using for your fork mounts? They look sturdy. Any positive/ negative?

Any recommendations for the best was to transport a traditional rod and reel? Love your videos!
huge respect from Ukraine! like your vibes!
A good Mission-style burrito is worth its weight in gold; about the only thing I miss about San Francisco.
Its our new fave "cooking" method :)
Very Nice!
Get it guys!

Great video. I'm already interested in bikepacking and the fishing element looks fun too. Awesome production also. How is it going with the drone?
Drone is great. Wish it had a 3 access gimbal and that the Active Track was a little smarter. But, it is great on a remote.

Just makes sense to carry a 10' + rod on a bike :)

I do the same thing with birding.
A River Runs Through It. PLP style.

Thanks.
Yeah you let the poor fish go again :)

La Fogata. 2nd and Jefferson in The Dalles. Best.
Figures I get into fishing right when you're moving away. :(
+Adam Newman you'll have to visit us in Montana!
I've never seen footage of a person casting naked, and could be a great idea for your channel maybe? Slow motion? LOL
