@CyMaddux31 that's live 🤣🤣 if you watch him do solo interviews of him playing this his voice is still the same and you can hear the mic echo in this which you don't get with faking it
And he does cliffs of Dover at the end. His way of saying "I can do more than this you know" I guess. I like how they just seem happy to play their hit, Even bands like Motorhead sometimes looked miserable playing Ace of spades, and they had more than one hit.
No disrespect to those people at all but Wheatus deserve so much more than people sitting in lawn chairs, a song that encapsulated a generation wether or not you were the cool kid or the outcast or whatever at one point we all felt like a “teenage dirtbag”
They’re part of the indie scene and it seemed like that was Brendan’s intention all along. They don’t need to fill a stadium to be satisfied. They also play a lot of festivals and open for other big acts as well. Hell someone told me they played in front of 10 people and had everyone form a circle around them while they played. So I think they’re fine with a lawn chair crowd.
I love that he doesn't cop out, that he still puts forth all the effort to actually sound good and sing the song right. Too many acts just do what's easy, change the chorus to a harmony or don't even try to sing the part at all and just let the audience do it. I'm off to check out Wheatus on RUclips and find out what I've been missing all these years.
That's what I thought was happening. I think he dis the a oustuc electric rhythm only in the original, and they had a lead guitarist, that I don't see here .
I just watch their VICE documentary and i feel it's a shame that this song doesn't get the attention because of the specific circumstances during those times but still it's such a cool story to tell!
If I was at this show i would be going absolutely crazy this song got me thru some deap shit in my youth.. I hope to see them live im 41 now still love them..dirt bag for life..
Sounds awesome, And great to see in the states they also get dirtbags who stand in the 2nd row in front of people having a conversation and not watching the band.
Damn that crowd is brutall lol. As cringey as tik tok is.. I'm glad to see wheatus finally getting their due. If they played today the place would be mobbed. The rectifiers are badass. So is the bucket hat
Haters will hate.. Me : WISH I WAS THERE ! His voice .. The song .. ( and also when thinking of the loser music video) sooo much memories ❤. And btw he is waaaaay better on guitar than that ! Lol 😉
His t-shirt tho - another one of the most underrated bands of its era. If you don't know them, do yourselves a service, search "Living Colour - Flying" and thank me later
Everybody’s talking about how his voice hasn’t changed over over the years. Y’all understand y’all realize that bro didn’t even change his glasses and every single video I see of this song he’s wearing the same glasses even the original. lol
Literally sounds the same live as he does in the studio, amazing. Loved this song for 23 years now and counting!
He hasn't aged in 25 years
Same guitar as the 2019 live but that was the best version the book store
@@tf2368 it will never

Have always loved the song, and loved Vice's recent video on how this song came about! Was interesting to see.
It was very interesting
literally just finished it and it queued this for next

So does Noelle's

@0:55 LOVE how he does the opening guitar lick from “Roundabout” before starting the song! Saw these guys live in Seattle recently and they killed it!
And he does cliffs of Dover at the end. His way of saying "I can do more than this you know" I guess. I like how they just seem happy to play their hit, Even bands like Motorhead sometimes looked miserable playing Ace of spades, and they had more than one hit.
I didn’t catch those licks hahaha now that I’ve listens again it’s amazing 🤩
No disrespect to those people at all but Wheatus deserve so much more than people sitting in lawn chairs, a song that encapsulated a generation wether or not you were the cool kid or the outcast or whatever at one point we all felt like a “teenage dirtbag”
but it wasn’t a big hit in the US, the record company shat the bed. It blew up first in Australia and then the UK 🇬🇧
I was a teen when this song came out. I'm too old to stand through an entire concert now.
One song. They have one song.
Go and support them then

Had no clue he could shred like that! Still a killer tune!
You can't expect a guy who mentions Iron Maiden in one of his songs not to be able to shred.
yeah wtf
He was bullied a lot as a youth and spent a huge amount of time learning guitar. I’m sure he’s quite good.
GOD his voice holds up
I like the bag delivery guy coming out right on cue lol 😂

i’m going to have to whole-heartedly agree with you on that one. straight chills every time

Damn, love the smooth transition of his guitar sound from acoustic to distortion
That's what I thought was happening. I think he dis the a oustuc electric rhythm only in the original, and they had a lead guitarist, that I don't see here .
@@-sensibleChris No. uses a foot controller for the distortion so he can gradually fade it in and out. He already did it that way in 2000.
