Thanks Kévin for your answer. I had a answer from Zoom in NY: "Thank you for contacting us with your question. The U-24 is not supported on Android devices, so this may just be a limitation. We apologize for the inconvenience".
Brilliant video pal, sorry this might be a question you've already answered; if i have two guitarists plugged into inputs 1&2 from their amp line out, can i then use this main out of this to a headphone amp/splitter so that both guitarists can hear each other?
Hello!!! First of all, thanks for the review. You have to wonder if the Zoom U-24 can be used with a smartphone with an Android system. Greetings from Argentina!!!
Hey Kevin, nice video! What is the difference between the Zoom H5 and this one? I'm considering something like this for voice overs in place of a regular interface (Focusrite Scarlet, etc). You wouldn't have a comparison video already made between the two, right? Thanks a lot in advance for details when replying, man!
Hi Luis. I have a few videos about the Zoom H6 (though it is going back a few years now). The Zoom H5 is undoubtedly a better audio interface than the U-24 and has more options, but the biggest difference is that the H5 is also a recorder. If you don't need portability, I would stick with a desktop audio interface. There's a lot of things to consider though, such as budget, what mics you are recording, how many input devices, what features you need etc.
@@KevinMuldoon Hey Kev, thanks a lot for your reply man. I can't agree more with you. I think I'll get the Focusrite Scarlet for now and if I need to, I'll get the H5 later for portability. As far as mics (for vocals), which one would you pick between the AT4040 and Rode NT1? Thanks again for your details, Kev!
@@luisamedina1 I've actually not tested either of those, but I have seen good reviews of both of them. I have been using the Shure SM7B myself the last few years. If your budget can stretch to it, also check out the Zoom F6 and Zoom F8N. I picked up the older Zoom F8 myself.
Hi Kevin, I realise this is an old video but I'm about to buy one of these for a purpose but I have a question about your video. When you were speaking into the mic it was going into Adobe Audition on one side of the stereo waveform only. I hope to use it for broadcasting the audio from two nice online live but I don't want one mic's audio going out on the left channel and the other on the right. Would this be an issue for me? 🤔
No it will be fine. Most vocal mics are mono instead of stereo, but your software or app can ensure the chance is duplicated so a stereo output is created from your mono input. I use OBS and that handles that for me.
Hi Kevin! It's a great review. I would like to know if this Zoom U-24 can connect to an Android or not. I want to use my Android phone to live-stream my live singing performance on Facebook. The set-up is as follows: - A condenser microphone is connected to a mixer. - This mixer will be connected to Zoom U-24 which is connected to my Android phone. Or, even better, if possible, can I connect a mixer straight to my Android phone? I should need an OTG cable for that, right? Please help! I'm hopeless....
Yes the U24 will work directly to a phone, tablet, laptop, pc etc. I did a few streams using it. You will need a otg cable to connect to your phone, but that's fairly cheap. As far as connecting a mixer, I have put a line in signal or mixer into the U24, but I'm sure it would work fine.
Hi Kévin. I finally resolve my problem. Zoom told me smartphone are not compatible with Zoom. I used the socket for cask. First it didn't work because I used a cable with 2 contacts. With 3 contacts, it's OK. Thanks LUC
Nice video! I want to buy an interface, Focusrite 3gen 2i2, Audient ID4 or Zoom U-24? I want it to record me playing the flute with a condenser mic. Can you help me? Thank you!!
If i turn the gain knobs to the max i can hear a treble buzzing in the channel 2 from 9 to 10 of gain that i dont hear in channel 1. Is it normal that the 2 inputs acts differently? With nothing connected to them?
That normally suggests there's a loose connection there or the gain level is up too high. The two connections should work in the same way if they are configured using the same settings.
It can be used for a podcast, but ideally, you want to use an audio recorder that records to an SD card too. That ensures that if something goes wrong with your computer, you don't lose the recording.
Sorry Kev call me stupid, but those XLRs are combo 3.5 (1/4") Jack or xlr. Then you probably got the option like my h2n and others in menu/input to turn plugin power on. I watched your other Vid (cool btw) about u24 audio interface and when you mentioned it I thought Eh? There's a combo jack..... I dunno, please correct me. Be lucky 🍀
@@KevinMuldoonJust to clarify though does this unit have the option in menu to use plugin power like the H2n to provide additional power to a jack input ie lavalier mics?
Looks like the preamp is to weak 🤔 tried another interface and that worked. So people with broadcast work should keep that in mind if they use broadcast headsets like the BPHS1
Will I have the same awesome accent when I buy the Zoom U24?
Haha here's hoping 😀

I'm surprised they said that as I used it with my phone and Android tablets many times.

Yeah that should work.
I did something similar with my other mixer, feeding the headphone jack into a headphone amplifier with four outputs.
Thank you for your effort and for the thorough presentation. I am going to purchase the U-240 now.
Sorry for my typo there, I meant of course the U-24.

You shouldn't have any issues using it with an Android phone.

Hi Kevin, great detailed video! I was just wondering what connection lead I would need to connect this to my iPhone please mate?
I'm not at home just now, but I think I use a USB (female) to type c connector. You'd need an iPhone lightning cable equivalent.
That’s very much mate! Much appreciated

It depends on your budget. I think the Audient ID4 would be good, but I'm biased as my ID22 has been great.
Can I plug in my guitar and listen my playing through headphone without connecting the Zoom U-24 to computer via USB?
Yes you can. As long as the headphones are connected to the zoom u24 you should be fine.
Hi Kevin. When i have aux out from mixer on Zoom inputs=i have the same signal on all Zoom outputs? Thank you.
The aux out connection should be a mix of all inputs.
Hi I bought this one, I can't connect a mic to input 2, nothing happens. should I return it?
Yeah it sounds like it's broken.
Do you still have this? Any chance you could do a video about the PC driver interface? I cannot find it anywhere
I still have it, but will probably sell it at one point as I haven't used it in years.
