      Historically, KPK and FATA were annexed into the British empire from Sikh Punjab, not Duranni's, and Pashtun parts of Balochistan came from the Chief Commissioners Province leased indefinitely to the British by the Khanate of Kalat. This really leaves Waziristan as the only region that negotiated directly with the British, and so the Durand agreement only retained the status quo (which was that these weren't Afghan territories), not create a new one. This is why the Afghan claims to Pakistani territory are bogus, but I guess this is a whole other debate.
      Coming to his comments about Peshawar he clearly misses the mark. KPK Pashtuns are actually quite patriotic (From Jalalabad to Attock this region is part of the GT road belt and has prehistoric, geographical and cultural continuity with the Pothwar region of Punjab aka Gandhara). 2/3 of Pakistans Pashtuns are from this region and they will probably never vote in favor of merging with Afghanistan in case of a referendum so I'm not sure why Pakistan should be afraid. It's definitely pockets in Northern Balochistan and Waziristan where there is some degree of separatist concern. He is well versed in the cohesive strength of Afghan social fabric, but underestimates the Pashtun-Punjabi dynamic across the border in Pakistan is by and large cordial underlined by a strange yet effortless symbiotic dynamic that somehow works, and as long as that remains Pakistan's existence is not threatened.

    Mr. Thomas, Pakistan already had a plebiscite from its people of KPK in 1945 who voted to join Pakistan. It is just for your information so that you don't confuse Kashmir issue with Peshawar where I was born.

    • @hayabusapassion

      Actually, the plebiscite was between Pakistan and India. However, I doubt the majority of KPK really care about this matter.

    • @amolkhobaragade
      @amolkhobaragade 3 года назад

      That's because the plebiscite didn't include joining Afghanistan and the plebiscite was done in 1947 March. Only 20% of the population was eligible to vote.

    • @humza3333
      @humza3333 3 года назад +1

      You're very WRONG !!! Firstly there was no Plebiscite. Secondly, in the elections of 1946 Pashtuns of KPK voted for Bacha khan who wanted a united india, and was against the creation of Pakistan. KPK was the only province where muslim league failed badly. But then again the partition was decided on the number muslims in the area and not what they wanted. Not sure what history are you reading sir. Stop spreading false information.

    • @luvmite2758

      @@humza3333 this is false history. Pashtun's majority voted for Pakistan in the elections and that is a sort of plebiscite too as you have also admitted that it did took place but against Pakistan. Well a group of Pashtuns was against Pakistan but not the majority of KPK as there live some other nations as well. Also, the brits would never had given KPK to Pakistan if majority had not voted for her.

    Afghan means Moaning and wailing and second name of Pashton tribe, Pashton came from Sulaiman Mountain ⛰ local in Pakistan.
    Afghan is a fake name on this country 5000 years history shows that.

    • @zainahmed6502
      @zainahmed6502 3 года назад +3

      Word "Afghan" comes from Sanskrit work "Asvakan", the ancient name of people living in what is not Khyber in Pakistan. Also synonymously used for "cavalry".
      Not all Afghans are Pashtuns. Afghan is a nationality, Pashtun is an ethnicity. There are Pashtuns, Tajiks, Turks, Uzbeks and Hazaras in Afghanistan and they are all Afghanis.

You know what's funny back then our lands were known for its greatness both culturally and linguistically. But when the awghans(pashtuns) came they took us from the 17/18 century back to the 12 century. In fact, afghanistan situations is how the Mongols left it after their invasion. Nothing good apart from terrorism came from the awghans and until today they are crying about the lands their king sold to the British. The only reason why afghanistan exists is that the land was a buffer for the British and Soviets.
