Thanks for your help I have been widowed recently and from a home I built with my husband I was the main contractor and it came out pretty good A 4000 square feet had to leave and I moved into a trailer which is totally a different animal everything is different an old trailer. Got a lot of repairs I'm glad I found you RUclips app

I have to say it shocks me Doug that you don't have your own business. In the time I've been watching your videos I've seen you fix just about everything including a roof. An honest hard working guy like you would thrive doing home repairs. It's very impressive. Both of you are great examples for your kids, you have that do it yourself quality that's missing in today's society, well done.

Always save the old vinyl or linoleum tear it out in one piece and trace it on top of the new linoleum so there’s no measuring saves a bunch of time

Just a couple of tips. 1...get a air tired dolly and some small ratchet straps for moving appliances. Won't tear your floors and more importantly your back. 2..you gotta wear gloves to protect yourself. I put a toilet in new construction at a mall and the sewer line 2nd connected to public restrooms which were already in use. When I tightened the cap nuts the stud came through the dome of the nut...like a can lid so I just thought I'd quick peel it off with my thumb. The brass did not bend but instead cut a perfect scoop out of my thumb. I peroxide it and bandaged it and continued my install. Next day I had to go to the Dr. and found out I had sepsis and he wanted to admit me for intravenous antibiotics. I was under deadline for Grand Opening so I refused so doc gave me some horse pills that worked. But today there are so many diseases like hepatitis and others you must protect yourself. I used to think I was bullet proof too buuut. 3.. When caulking it works to keep a lil bowl of water with dish soap in it and dip your finger in it to smooth your bead....nice clean bead and always be sure to cut your tip on caulk small so not a glob as you smooth the bead. Just some tips from an old man in Michigan...been there done that.....didn't even get a T-shirt

I have a suggestion in reference to your tub door. You can remove that metal frame that holds the accordion door. Use grout or other waterproof goo to fill the screw holes, then put up a tension rod with an shower curtain that is much more easy to keep clean (and much easier to open/close). Over 50 years ago, my father removed the glass sliders from the tub and the shower in the bathrooms in my childhood home because the tracks of the sliders were almost impossible to clean and, of course the glass builds up soap scum. P.S., the floor looks great!

Yeah, the paneling throughout the house is in great shape for it's age but the bathroom definitely is showing some wear. That's probably the one room that we wouldn't mind painting but it's mostly hidden with the washer and dryer in place.

Wow - fantastic difference! Love the bloopers - haha - you are so real! Gosh who knew that mold and gross stuff was under there - you can’t even imagine that up! Not only does it look great now you can feel great about using it (especially having little kids).
You probably know this already but once you get the tub all cleaned up and buffed - put a coat of car wax on it. That plus your water softener will help the water just bead off. I like the suggestion of another viewer to place any extra linoleum under the sink. That makes it easier to wipe up.
    Great great job - kudos!!!

Just started watching your video's. Wow you guys did a great job . The only thing I would have done differently would have been the floor . My husband and I lived in a mobile home and we had to change the whole floor out with new ply wood . That press board will not last long , especially when getting out of the shower wet . Even when our kids were growing up they would splash and get the floor wet, so we just had to change them out completely. My husband remodels and repairs homes and he's had to replace so many floors like that . Anyway.... fantastic job on all the rest of what you did !! That's is hard word !! BYW ...I love how your kids are included . That's so sweet !!

This one actually looks to be in pretty good shape for its age, I’ve seen 10 year old mobile homes in worse condition. I think mobile homes get a bad rep simply because many people buy them and trash them. Anything will last if you take care of it and maintain it.
