I always enjoy your musical insight - it took me three loads of laundry folding to get through this video but I'm glad I kept coming back. Wonderful piece of music, to boot. You guys did great!

wow what a track. and great perfomance by all three. such a wonderfully unpredictable meander from minorish to majorish feelings. it should be in a concert hall. i think it'd overwhelm a movie, especially an indie. modern film music is often bgm, this is fgm. definitely wanted to hear more! (ha even after listening 3x). i think tiktok needs to hear it!

ah thanks! yes it did end up feeling more like a concert piece. Haha good point, I guess my desire to make something musically interesting ended up winning over my desire to make it soundtrack-friendly 😄

Good work, Vince. Love the use of the trumpet here and great to see some live input. Filling space is a fascinating business. Thoughtful and thought provoking as always. PS - 31:04 Thought you were going a bit Keith Emerson for a mo :).

ruclips.net/video/gDxPxnmmvKM/видео.htmlsi=EFsJvCFT7cVI1QrT&t=1003 it's from this soundtrack. I didn't write all of the tracks on this album btw (see if you can tell which ones are mine 😂)

back again for like a 6th listen. it's like shrek's onion, layers and layers, and makes your eyes water! anyway movies should have fgm. movies should be operas. scoring with a predictable ostinaty drone and synth/stringpads is throwing away massive storytelling potential. with impactful music, you can have two movies for the price of one, two stories, a story and a counterstory, each able to stand on its own, together 'more than the sum of parts'. hope you get a film project worth of your skill and a director/producer wise enough to not temp it and stay out of your way! (including in the edit, leaving plenty of room for the music to have the stage, instead of just using it as a lipstick. h'wood can learn from b'wood, humans (surprise!) love music, including in movies)
