    In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

      There is a list in the setup wizard if you turn on the simulator and enable Mercury functions.
      You can contact Mercury to have more info, as the VV-Link compatibility with the engine is the most important bit.

    The guys that installed my dual evo 3's turned them on while on trailer out of water and did some kind of quick set-up. I was always told never turn on sonar out of water. Could this cause problems? Do I need to start the auto set-up again? I have everything nema and multi transducer so I'm sure they did not set that up correctly. Great video! Thank you.

      We recommend pausing sonar or not using sonar while out of the water. That shouldn't effect the settings though. If it was set up incorrectly, give us a call and we'll be happy to help.

    Thanks for the useful information on the NSS Evo 3. I came across this while trying to determine what an update showing on the evo3 screen is. I have the latest version (22.2) loaded on my Evo3 12". But while on, the screen will say update 64.3.46 download waiting for an internet connection. 1) what is this download, and 2) how can I get the update? There is nothing referencing that number on the Simrad site. I would like to use my iPhone as a hot spot but never seem to have any luck. Would like to know more about connecting phone to do this update. I know how to use the micro-Sd to get a larger file like 22.2. Thanks

    We have a new system that was installed last year in our new rescue boat and it is extremely slow. We have had many problems with the system (we hope many are resolved after this weeks work by the boat manufacturer) The system consists of 2-12" NSS Evo3 screens, Halo pulse radar, GPS, Active imaging, forward scan, P319 transducer, structure, side/ down scan, etc... is there a common issue that causes these systems to be slow ?

    Hello. We have a Chapparal 28 surf boat with 2 sim rad NSS evo3 systems. We suddenly lost communication between the boat and both of the simrads. For example, our fuel gauge, tachometer, Speedometer, engine hours, etc do not have a reading. Anything GPS related appears to be working. Also our Surf app icon disappeared, so we are not able to control our surf gates, ballasts, and all other surf functions. Do you have any suggestions? these were all working the day before. Thank you!

      Hi, sounds like a connectivity issue. Have you checked the connections between the NSS evo3's and the engines, in case it has disconnected? What engine do you have?

    Hi I recently installed a boat lift. I was working on the nss 12 evo3 2019. Airmar B150M. Unfortunately I forgot to pause the depth sounder .
    So I need a new transducer. Can’t find a replacement. I can find a transom mount one. Will that work temporarily on a Grady white 330 express w twin 300 Yamahas. ? Also when I can get , I would like side scan, what model number do I need. Do I need two?

      We regret reading this, and leaving the transducer on while out of the water will damage some of the components.

      You will need another transducer in order to have sidescan.
      We have a thru-hull version of the totalscan transdcuer.

    I just purchased nss evo3s 12 and 9 with a ss75h thru hull was wondering should I put put a b175hw thru hull also and do I need the s5100 ? Thanks

      If you want to add another transducer, then we'd advise the SS175M. You will not need to add the S5100 in that case.

    Why does my Evo3 show minus one hour wrong when I've set it to +1 GMT in Norway? When I put it to +2 GMT, it shows the correct time in the top bar...

    Hi, will a new NSS 7 Evo 3 work happily with an original NSS8 when networked. Can I share one Navionics chart card map data to both units? Thanks in advance.

      You can networked the NSS units via ethernet and they will share the Navionics chart card but sonar would go into legacy mode and you will lose details/functions on the evo3. Bear in mind the original NSS does not work with C-Map Discover/Reveal chart cards either.

    Installed the 20 update on my NSS Evo 3, l lost my Echo ducer and depth reading when on plain. Works fine when I'm back at idle and easing around. Worked fine before the update.
    And the black line that follows the boat doesn't follow like it did, it shows a straight line and cuts corners across land, bridges, whatever, has a mind of it's own.
    Watching this video now, hope it gives me a fix or reboot sequence.

    Hi - I have the same Simrad in the video. How to do you sync the boat icon so that as I drive the boat is followed on the screen? Right now I have to zoom in and try to find us on the map. Thanks

    Down scan and side scan show the bottom but not the echo. Do I need 2 transducers?

      If you only have the 2in1 transducer, then that makes sense, and yes, you will need an extra transducer for 2D sonar. In case you have a 3in1 transducer, then you have an issue with it. Please send us a message via Facebook and we'll be happy to help you.

    My nss ev3s 9” not show up the trolling motor controller, I do select trolling motor in the advanced settings and the system when restart and control bar on the left hand side not show up any ideas? Thanks

    I am trying to configure the radar overlay on my unit but the autopilot/heading sensor on Yamaha Helm Master EX is not showing up in my sources. How can I fix this?

    The Mercury vessel control on my GO12 XSE is not working, i have latest softwares and support does not acknowledge the problem except saying "this will take a long time to fix" I bought my boat brand new 3 weeks ago and no information from Simrad or Mercury. Setup fails at Active Trim.

    Hi , I just updated my nss12 evo3 and lost my 4g radar , on the screen it saying NO RADAR wow, and where are my engine hours now its not in the engine cluster screen anymore. Need Help . I`ve been on hold with simrad customer service for over 4 hours and decided to pack it up. have to try again later

    Dear sir/ madam,
    İ am contacting you for some technical support. İ have just installed a Simrad Outboard Pilot (NAC-1, Point-1, Pump-1 connected to my NSS7-EVO2).
    After installation İ have followed the guidelines on internet by commissioning the autopilot and calibrating Point-1 heading sensor. So far everything goes well. During commissioning the autopilot asks to bring the outboard in straight position and then starts asking if there is any response from outboard in starboard direction. After confirmation you need to steer full starboard and push screen (turn to port) till outboard is in maximum port position. Confirmation that set-up is OK and pilot steers to straight. No problem at all. İ also calibrated the Point-1 heading sensor and no problems.
    BUT when İ start the autopilot and choose 'keep course' the pilot starts adjusting and after a few seconds steers full to starboard while boat is on course.
    Also when İ push the green and red autopilot arrows on the screen there is something wrong. When İ push GREEN arrow the boat steers to starboard but when İ push the RED arrow the boat also steers to starboard.
    İ have attached a picture and 2 video's and hope you can help me out....

    Simrad support is cero. They promise to help you writing an email in case that you have an issue with their product. Nothing happens. Not even an answer that they got my mail. Worst behavior. They get your money then they forget about you as a customer

    On my NSS EVO3, installed version is 20.2.
    If I refer to the User Manual for , page 19 and 20, I have to do:
    and select icon .
    On my device, this icon does not exist, at this place I have and .
    See addendum “NSS-evo3_RTM20-0_ADD_EN_988-12642-001_w_07May2020” page 3.
    I can’t find where I can found ; could you help me.
