Jennifer...having watched several of your videos, several things are evident. 1. There's nothing wrong with you. That's why therapy didn't help. Your ex has the problem. 2. Your friend Carmen is wise and correct. End the pity party and move on. 3. Move out of your Mom's home so you can feel free to do what YOU want to do. Be dependent on yourself, not on anyone else. Not trying to mansplain this. You can do this. Been there. Done that. My ex dumped me for an older instructor we had in dental school, and left me with a 5 year old dental practice and a fortune in debt. I'm better off today than I would have been if we were still together. You come across as smart and talented. I know you can pull this off. Also, that candle thing should be a goal. You did it once. I’ve been divorced for 8 years now. I can tell you, it’s a slow process to heal from a divorce. I allowed myself to go through all those emotions & practiced self-care, got a new career, and started making new friends & traveled. Not once, have I ever regretted leaving him. 😁. And this might sound cliché or cheesy but I believe that through the dark there’s always a light. I’ve watched your earlier videos including the story of how your marriage ended. And your pain definitely transcended then camera. I’ve been through two of them. Thinking each was the one for a lifetime. On both accounts we were both to blame. Same boat here. Hardest part of letting go is erasing all the memories (22 yrs worth). Thing that helped me the most and was the hardest, was learning to appreciate and be grateful for the experience. Only way I could recover. When ur pushed to be a bigger person and rise to the occasion. It’s very liberating!!! I’m so glad ur here
Viva Jennifer AND Carmen . I learned this same lesson threw a life coach that I had for 4 or 5 sessions after my separation . It was so freeing once I took responsibility for my part in the relationship . I no longer felt like a victim . I knew my X was a cheater from 28 yrs earlier and I choose to stay . I knew he had givin me an std during my pregnancy and I didn’t leave him then . So I actually forgive us both and I’m just continuing to live my life with as much responsibility as possible . I can relate with your story so much and I am in that dark and deep hole right now. I was just asking myself and my mother how do I get out of it, when I don’t have the energy nor the desire to even get up from my bed all day. Take Responsibility. Thank you for this advise. I've been stagnant for a few years now. My situation is bit difficult as it involves my daughter who expects me to finance her college education no matter what even if I'm unemployed and have to borrow to help her out. She always provides her friend as an example whose family all pitched in to support her college education.

I pretty much agree with what you said but as a man it is a bit different. In my case I was the one that got thrown under the bus. The problem with moving on is when kids are involved. I will be 52 in March , we had kids late, my youngest daughter is 10. My kids don't want to live with their mother but court is so prohibitively expensive that it is difficult to make any headway. I yearn for the day ,8 years from now, when I can put it all behind me. I refuse to be in a relationship with a woman who has a crazy screwed up ex so consequentially I refuse to even try to find someone new because my ex causes so many problems for my kids & myself. I have plenty of responsibility as I am self employed & have been for 20 years but man putting up with all this court crap & seeing my kids suffer needlessly really takes a toll.
Unfortunately this is what most ex's do to you and the children suffer the most. I have seen this in my children's ex's wife's. Its ridiculous so I quit trying to help.
I have been there and did what I thought was best for my children, I got full custody. Was best way could think of to give them least drama. They are all grown now and even have grandkids

Before I go any further I want everyone to know that I am not here to bash, trash or belittle women. The court system on the other hand I am not so fond of. I know there are bad women but I also know there are bad men. It seems to me that both sexes mainly view things as the other side bad. This happened to me 4 years ago in March. 3 days after my birthday. Now I am sure that most if not all women reading this are assuming I'm a dead beat or a cheater or abuser or something else. To this day 4 years after the fact she still hasn't been able or willing to tell me specifically why. She took my kids out of school with the help of the sheriff , who told me the next day that they knew she lied to them but couldn't help me. She got them into protective custody while she filed papers & tried to take them to Tennessee. Kansas won't allow a parent to take the kids out of state without the other parents permission, so that's one good thing the law did.About 2 years before she left I started having debilitating headaches. I have had migraines since I was a kid & still do but these.....I can't even describe how bad they were. Ended up in the emergency room on the demand of the family doctor, spent 2 days in the hospital. Had ct scans & mri's. Had a herinated disc in my neck. Felt good after all the drugs from the hospital so I didn't go see the neurosurgeon. About 6 months later they started again. Went to see him & he said there was nothing he could do that I was in for a life of pain management. They wanted to give me narcotic pain killers & I refused. I swear her face was white as a ghost. I thought at the time that was not the reaction I expected. She was always happy as long as money was flowing but when it didn't flow man did things suck. I think she decided she didn't want to take care of an invalid in her old age & I can't really blame her even though I have known several couples who have stood by each other to the end. It just doesn't seem to be the case any more. So while I am done with relationships, at least for now I am curious of women's perspectives. For instance red flags for me are women who have thrown their previous partner under the bus, women who won't let their ex see their kids( abuser excepted). Women who say they ain't raising someone else's kids. That just seems a bit of self centered given the high number of single moms that " can't find a good man". So I am curious when a man tells his story what do women think?
I got a Phoenix Tatoo on my back to remind me that I have crashed..burned..and risen so many times. Your videos are helping me to get strong. My husband has wanted me to leave so he could have a life with other women and his freedom..he says I've done nothing wrong and that hes just not attracted to me anymore. Then when I pack and try to leave..he doesn't want me to. I do love him so much..but the flip flop effect is killing me. I'm trying to stay strong. I found your videos while searching for answers. Do you date? I think dating is too much expectation and pressure. I think learning to go out or do something together as a new friend, discover things together, and share moments is what can lead to a more intimate relationship if it's meant to be . In today's culture, there's a tendency to approach relationship backwards in the course of things. You learn what's really important with age and unfortunately heartache.
Confidence is another magic word, as those who think they may, don't do, and those how think they can generally will. My situation is bit difficult as it involves my daughter who expects me to finance her college education no matter what even if I'm unemployed and have to borrow to help her out. She always provides her friend as an example whose family all pitched in to support her college education.

I pretty much agree with what you said but as a man it is a bit different. In my case I was the one that got thrown under the bus. The problem with moving on is when kids are involved. I will be 52 in March , we had kids late, my youngest daughter is 10. My kids don't want to live with their mother but court is so prohibitively expensive that it is difficult to make any headway. I yearn for the day ,8 years from now, when I can put it all behind me. I refuse to be in a relationship with a woman who has a crazy screwed up ex so consequentially I refuse to even try to find someone new because my ex causes so many problems for my kids & myself. I have plenty of responsibility as I am self employed & have been for 20 years but man putting up with all this court crap & seeing my kids suffer needlessly really takes a toll.
Unfortunately this is what most ex's do to you and the children suffer the most. I have seen this in my children's ex's wife's. Its ridiculous so I quit trying to help.
I have been there and did what I thought was best for my children, I got full custody. Was best way could think of to give them least drama. They are all grown now and even have grandkids

Before I go any further I want everyone to know that I am not here to bash, trash or belittle women. The court system on the other hand I am not so fond of. I know there are bad women but I also know there are bad men. It seems to me that both sexes mainly view things as the other side bad. This happened to me 4 years ago in March. 3 days after my birthday. Now I am sure that most if not all women reading this are assuming I'm a dead beat or a cheater or abuser or something else. To this day 4 years after the fact she still hasn't been able or willing to tell me specifically why. She took my kids out of school with the help of the sheriff , who told me the next day that they knew she lied to them but couldn't help me. She got them into protective custody while she filed papers & tried to take them to Tennessee. Kansas won't allow a parent to take the kids out of state without the other parents permission, so that's one good thing the law did.About 2 years before she left I started having debilitating headaches. I have had migraines since I was a kid & still do but these.....I can't even describe how bad they were. Ended up in the emergency room on the demand of the family doctor, spent 2 days in the hospital. Had ct scans & mri's. Had a herinated disc in my neck. Felt good after all the drugs from the hospital so I didn't go see the neurosurgeon. About 6 months later they started again. Went to see him & he said there was nothing he could do that I was in for a life of pain management. They wanted to give me narcotic pain killers & I refused. I swear her face was white as a ghost. I thought at the time that was not the reaction I expected. She was always happy as long as money was flowing but when it didn't flow man did things suck. I think she decided she didn't want to take care of an invalid in her old age & I can't really blame her even though I have known several couples who have stood by each other to the end. It just doesn't seem to be the case any more. So while I am done with relationships, at least for now I am curious of women's perspectives. For instance red flags for me are women who have thrown their previous partner under the bus, women who won't let their ex see their kids( abuser excepted). Women who say they ain't raising someone else's kids. That just seems a bit of self centered given the high number of single moms that " can't find a good man". So I am curious when a man tells his story what do women think?
No matter how much theyre bringing on the heartache, we must stay resilient.
I got a Phoenix Tatoo on my back to remind me that I have crashed..burned..and risen so many times. Your videos are helping me to get strong. My husband has wanted me to leave so he could have a life with other women and his freedom..he says I've done nothing wrong and that hes just not attracted to me anymore. Then when I pack and try to leave..he doesn't want me to. I do love him so much..but the flip flop effect is killing me. I'm trying to stay strong. I found your videos while searching for answers. Chatting to a camera about your sadness really just means your a confident lady at heart, bent and abit dented maybe, but move on you can. Put this behind you as a learning curve but not one that makes you a hard lady.
