You'll note that Jamie said "Go, save our son." Wee William is OUR son now. Before this is over William is going to have more 'parents' than he can count. 😂
You've heard of fort bragg, home of the 82nd airborne division? It is near fayetteville, north carolina, which is named after this guy. The 4th biggest city in louisiana is also named after him. What a series of coincidences that jamie and clair keep randomly bumping into extremely famous people, such as washington, benedict arnold, and now lafayette.
The author chose to write historical fiction because she figured if she ran out of ideas for plots or characters, she could just throw in historical characters or put her characters in historical events! So it’s no coincidence lol
My husband walked by and asked what year it was supposed to be and I said I think after 1776. We had to look up when the British accepted American Independence, that it didn't just happen with the Declaration of Independence 😂 I took AP US History...
Yeah, I wasn't very interested in history either but I've learned SO much through Outlander and I find it such an interesting aspect of the show (and books)!! Yes, you're right, John and Percy were lovers (and step-brothers). Percy cheated on him, got caught in the act, was going to be hanged, and despite being extremely hurt and angry, John snuck him away overseas to save his life. Their story is in one of the novels of the Lord John series. (Spoiler, if you're planning to read those books...) It happened during the time Jamie was at Helwater, and he actually asks Jamie's advice about it, which turns into a heated convo about men loving other men. John says something very similar to what he said two episodes back, and Jamie lands a punch on the wall just NEXT to John's face... So that scene in 7-12 was not really out of character for either of them.

@@smowka Diana was a research professor, so of course she researched the areas & history she put her characters in.

Marquis of Lafayette is a famous person who influenced the war when the French gave support to the colonies.

Lafayette was very important in the French Revolution.
Lafayette helped bring French money and troops into the war, very much helped us win.
Fiona had to go back to Lallybroch to make sure Bree was Ok? She was in danger 😮
I learned at school that American soldiers came to France in 1917 shouting "Lafayette, nous voilà !"
Well, General Pershing definitely said that. It's on film, I believe.
Another amazing reaction Imon ❤❤😁😁.
