I looked at these two units at a woodworking store this morning. I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger before doing more research. Thanks for the heads up.
Hello It was a useful video, thank you. I use Proxxon for porcelain finishing work. Would you recommend Merlin 2? Proxxon heats up in 15 minutes and I need to take a break. I wanted to ask since you use both. thanks
Hi there. I use a torch to burn the gunk out of my proxxon wheels. I just use a small handheld butane torch. I don't let it get too hot, I keep burning it and then finally I use a brass brush and it comes loose. I heard somewhere to use the brass brush because the steel will damage the wheel. Not sure. Thank you for the videos!
Hello, may I ask you a question about dimension, actually the clearance for shoulder of the cap that holds a disc (cutting disc surface) from that sholder to the surface of the disc (that is 1mm)? I need such tool to cut metal but space where I need to cut is quite narrow.. Thank you.
Thank you. No one was admitting the merlin 2 bits fit the proxxon. 8ve toasted 2 merlin so this is good to know

Are you still using the proxxon successfully? Have you considered the Worx MakerX grinder?
I am still using it successfully, but I will look into the other one that you had mentioned. Thanks for the tip.

I don't recommend the Merlin2. They have a new model so maybe it is better. I don't know
Should have a back-up grinder, or ready-to-use other one with different disc. I have 5 grinders fitted with 5 different discs.
@@sukrusenemoglu hmmm Merlin 2 was always breaking down. I've had no trouble with the Proxxon

Hmmmm, between 3/8" and half " I believe . A dremel tool may be a better option
