[OSRS] What to do AFTER Buying Membership

- When you first become a member, the game can be overwhelming. I want to try and break down each skill and give a general overview of what to expect when you first get membership These are things every player should know and do once they take that step up.
If you have questions or feel that I forgot something that all new members should know about, please leave a comment and I'll be sure to add it in!
**Things I forgot to mention**
Void Knight Equipment: Void can be obtained through the pest control minigame. Depending on what helm you wear, it will provide 10% damage and accuracy bonus for melee or ranged, or a 45% accuracy increase to magic. It can take between 6-14 hours to get depending on your combat level and the teams you're with.

Kingdom management can be a very effective and low effort method of passively maintaining a bond.

To unlock fairy rings you do NOT need to complete Fairy Tale II, and you do NOT need to meet the skill requirements. You only need to complete a portion of the quest up to the point where you talk to Fairy Fixit.
Equipping the Dorgeshuun Crossbow does NOT require completion of the Lost Tribe quest unless you wish to use the special attack.

You can't be serious? What's so hard about looking up quests for this game? Learning what each skill does (another youtube video lookup) Start roaming around the world and seeing what's out there? Try making friends or joining a Discord RS server? Do your own homework and take notes, learn things.....sheesh...spoon fed.

I've just redeemed my first bond after months of grinding in f2p and all I can say is thank you for this video. All this new content is just overwhelming and it's difficult to figure out where to start because there's so many new areas, so many new skills, so many new quests and so many new items. This video really did help me figure out what to do now I'm a member :)

I’ve done this for money on my early p2p days lol now I fish for days.
12? Ive been playing for 17. And in my old age i can tell you the only thing you should do is explore. This is SO IMPORTANT. You only have ONE chance to ever do this and its a shame people are so obsessed wih money and levels that they totally forget this. My first time walking through Canfis or Ardy when they were released wouldnt be NEARLY as memorable if i hadnt simply explored.

The obsession with 99s really confounds me - what the hell is the point of spending hours upon hours of time and money grinding up for 99 just for the sake of it?
The levels should be a means to an end such as accessing new areas, equipping and creating new outfits, starting new quests or unlocking new skills.
What people get out of standing in the GE for hours on end mindlessly grinding and worrying about efficiency is beyond my comprehension.
Never mind Canfis - just getting through one of those 'member only' gates was enough! ;p
im taking this advice. long time off and on F2P player and just finally decided to dive into membership, except im totally overwhelmed but ultimately just want to enjoy myself. ill just explore and poke into the questing
Man I still love the walk to the Dark Altar during Client of Kourend. That simple valley was big enough to show the true extent of the osrs world to an f2p scrub

I find the best way to prevent yourself burning out when lvling skills is to mix quests in. Set yourself a skill milestone (mine were 25, 35, 46 and 50) train to these milestones in most of your skills and then check what quest you could do at these milestones. By mixing skilling and content clearing it makes the game more fun and the grinds feel a lot less grindy

how was it haha? I'm about to become a member now. finished all the f2p quests and got most of my skills to at the least 60. figure I should be good to become a member by now..
Not sure if a newer version of this video has been updated, but if not I think a new upload is warranted. A massive exposition dump over stock footage is, in my opinion, not very helpful to a new player. The information itself is good, but the format prevents this video from being a useful reference tool because of the lack of structure or timestamps to go find specific pieces of information. Not a bad video by any means, but it could definitely benefit from more focused commentary and more helpful footage.
Clayton Magsanay idk why people think this video is targeted towards “new players” most f2p players won’t buy a membership or one at all, certainly not after hey just started. This video was made for people who UNDERSTAND the game and know it well, I’ve played OSRS for 4 years and only bought a membership last year. Why do you think he would tell a new player to buy a dragon axe? A new player couldn’t even WEILD that. If you want a membership tutorial mate look up beginner membership tutorial

@@silverchaired Nobody said lvl 1 players are gonna go member. if you followed his previous guide you'd have 30-50 combat levels and same with skill levels, and done all f2p quests its basically a transition guide. Experienced players won't even need to watch a guide.
Great vid Mud this remembered me of how I got to your channel with the what to do before getting membership video and you know what? I wrote down rquirements for my main before I even thought about buying a bond according to your tips and I plan to do it again for this vid :)

WildMudkip Hey just wanted to give you an update: Today in 1hour I finished 2 quests (Black Knight's Foretress and Rune Mysteries) and did 4 (Vampire's Slayer, Ernest the Chicken Imp Catcher and The Knight's Sword)

haha if u did u would be either dead or in the hospital with and alcohol OD LUL. Ya OSRS has definatly turned more-so into quest grinding than it ever was back in the old days when it first came out, and especially even more-so once they made a whole pay to play version (members) of the game!

Thanks for the tips. I got accumulator fast because I realized having it on all the time could generate free money in steel arrows. I like the quality of life tips you gave. I'll be doing those quests you mentioned starting with fairy rings.
One thing you didn't touch on was Ghosts Ahoy, get the tele to the ghost port in Morytania which has a farming patch near it too!

I've gotten a few friends into OSRS over the years, and I always just tell them "do Slayer." It's hard to out myself in the perspective of a noob who has never played and is exploring everything for the first time.

I feel like this is video is probably a really useful guide for players who already have experience in members and are looking to come back or to build up a new account quickly/efficiently, but even as player who knows basically every nook and cranny of the f2p game, 80% of what you just said was gibberish to me. And that's fine, I recognize there's a lot of useful info in this video, but it was just too much to take in when I have no context for pretty much every item, location, quest, mingame, mechanic etc being referenced. I'm just gonna embrace being a noob again though and take it slow when I hop over to p2p.

The main issue we have is that we don't know the terms he uses, and he just introduces more and more of em' without explaining. Since this video is meant for NEW members, i'd reckon people would think there would be a thorough explanation.

Most of what he said i dont understand even having played OSRS 10 or so years ago back when it was the first MMO (if ud call it that) and now having restarted a new account (thats about combat lvl 60) since i couldn't help myself when i saw they had a mobile version of it now lol. But all that being said the video is already over 20 mins long so im guessing thats the reason that he cant go more in depth and explain everything a little more for us noobs haha. Try using this site oldschool.runescape.wiki/ it has helped me understand 95% of the stuff he talks about here PLUS has a whole section just for guides to EACH skill (both for free to play and members) so its reallyyyyy helpful and i have a feeling if you check it out it will help u like it helped me. Mudkip I wanted your thoughts,What would you think about getting full void in early membership (Besides questing) along with the 3 hoods for ALL Training. Would this be alright or not ideal enough?
Ooh completely forgot to mention void in the video. If you're gonna be training slayer then I would just focus on getting the slayer helm, but if you plan on doing any combat/bossing outside of slayer then I would definitely recommend getting void first.
So uhm... How do I actually start most of the members skills? I figured out Construction so far and thieving is readily available from the start. But the rest?

I just came back to osrs, havent played since i was child! Some random guy i was chatting with randomly gave me 5 mil and told me to buy a bond. So after im done with f2p quests and is at a decent level at most f2p skills im gonna venture into the world of membership! :)

first thing i got on member was void armor. Helps alot to have void range. Then I got full gracefull.
For smithing bro you should tell them to get ice gloves you can pick up the bars alot faster than using the bucket water
First quest you should do as members is Cook's Assistant. You might want to edit that in.

I agree with a lot of the comments about the idea you shouldn’t be so obsessed with leveling up fast and being efficient. I miss the wonder of being a noob and I’ve been playing this game literally since 07, and I can tell you that doing fun things like clan wars and castle wars are some of the most fun things you can experience in this game. Dying and losing your cash stack, being scammed or lured, it’s all apart of the runescape experience and enjoy it. :)

So I have a question.. I managed to get back on my old account for OSRS but my registered e-mail is gone. Can;t recover it nothing. I can login to the OSRS account tho and play and all. Is it wise to start membership on that account or make a new account which is 100% accessible?
You should use a brand new email that you’ll never use for anything else with it’s own unique password you don’t use anywhere else, and have 2 factor enabled for that email in order to have the best security possible

In the case that your membership expire, will you still be able to use/wield the dragon weapons/armour or other member-only equipment?
If you have it equipped when you lose membership it'll stay equipped but you won't have any boosts or bonuses while wearing it. Basically any members items you're still wearing will be purely cosmetic. If you take it off you can't put it back on in F2p.
If I were to not do any quests would I still be able to get anywhere in the game?

I got 15 attack and I don’t know what to do
I have just restarted playing runescape after a 11 year break, (I didnt like the graphic's update in 2006) and almost the entire game has changed... after 3 days of farming cow hides and turning them into leather and stuff like that I finally got enough gp for a bond. This has helped me to know what i should do first in order to make the most of my bond.

BTW do u have any advice to how much money i should have in my cash stack after buying bond to get as much done as possible?
Honestly it really doesn't matter. There's money making methods in p2p with 0 requirements and (collecting items such as white berries) that are 10x faster than what you can make in f2p so it's best to get that bond asap! And once you have a little pile of cash I would recommend blast furnace as a good low level money maker

...What? Quests are like half the point of the game. They're pretty much the primary reason to level up skills. They are what give skills purpose, along with PvP and combat minigames. Without quests, there is literally no reason to play RS. The game becomes a dull, pointless grindfest with no payoff. Some quests are boring and tedious to be sure, such as Cook's Assistant, Imp Catcher, Goblin Diplomacy, etc, but there's also quests like The Great Brain Robbery, Monkey Madness, and the Morytania quests. RS literally has the best quests I've ever seen in an MMO, and that's why I and so many others play it rather than some other soulless MMO like WoW or Neverwinter.
