    • @americasevilgenius
      @americasevilgenius 5 месяцев назад

      There's no reason that a future split of the United States would need to be violent. Such violence would only occur if the United States Government refused to behave like adults, and insisted on keeping states in the Union against their will (not unlike what happened in the 1860's)

    • @Mr.Nobody_97
      @Mr.Nobody_97 4 месяца назад +2

      I think it would be the most likely outcome. Considering how the information spreads like wildfire around the world in seconds than it did a hundred years ago, it would be quite tricky to convince the world, let alone the union that war would be justified under the watch of citizens. If the union decided to stop the succession by force, it will only bolster Texas’ resolve to succeeding. Many nations will take the opportunity to help them, and the union would have to stop their advance unless they want to create another front with other nations giving aid.
      The union’s public perception will fall dramatically and it will be like the Vietnam war, when the outcry of citizens forces the union to give up and pull back.
      If the union was still adamant and ended the war swiftly, you’d displace many Texans, and it would be like the Wild West and much rebuilding. Wounds may heal, but their contempt will not.
      The peaceful outcome would be the best way for both parties, considering that Texas is armed to the teeth.

    Unfortunately, in real life, I don’t think Texas (or any other states like California, Florida, etc) realize how bad this would be for its citizens; though you did touch on it with the Visas bit.
    The real issue would come with the extremely loose inter-state trade of goods (especially food), vehicle management, and people travel.

      Federal law is subject to change when majority says so, ex. slavery. The US military, not even the current anti-American one, would go to war with its own people. In the most perfect situation that Texas is able to leave, the most you will see is protests. Texas does not become an entirely independent nation seperate from the US and it does not leave NATO, Texas becomes a country/territory similar to Puerto Rico or Guam. Trade becomes easier when the US trade laws arent in affect, and importing goods is not so hevaily controlled. Relations with Mexico could increase as well. People dont understand the texit idea. Its not Texas becoming a completely seperate part like Canada and the US. Its more like Texas being able to have its own federal government and control of its own trade, while still being in support with and by the US military. People like @C0astinG4mer dont research the idea and just say that Texas will become a whole new nation and get nuked or invaded or whatever they say. We dont want to be on our own entirely. We couldnt handle that. Our GDP certainly could, but if we were independent we would still be a part of US territory. Thats the whole point. We just want our own government so we can get rid of some of this stupid federal laws and politicians, on BOTH sides.

It definitely could happen but it would need a miracle. Texas wouldnt be fully sepetated either which is a misconception. The only thing that changes in a Texas succession is that trade becomes easier and Texas is recognized as a US territory rather than a state. Ayo I had an idea for an eas scenario, but it’s gonna be a bit weird and more adult themed, you will see what I mean: there’s a highly infectious virus taking out the “reproductive” cells in men and woman, causing anyone infected to not be able to reproduce, and the scenario ends with no more births happening in the world. So it would be: “EAS Scenario: no more births”

    I'm a texan living in WV, I'd like to think they'd let me return within the 70 days that Americans got to leave

    I love that the ATF was turned into the "texas freedom department"
