Rob Edwards sitting down in the dugout has been a very telling sign these last two games.
Edwards is a great man manager when things are going well. I think the players have told him that 3 at the back doesn't work, so he knows he has lost confidence in the dressing room. The main thing is he's stubborn. He knows it's not working. The results last year, and this year proves that, but he wants it to work. We are too easy to counter with 2 in midfield, especially when our wingbacks have gotten forward. He either goss 442 with Taylor or goes 4231. We need to get a grip of games, and we can't with 2 in midfield. We haven't got Lokonga and Barkley anymore, and who we have got are not the same class. He will have to sort it out quickly because Sweet will say goodbye very quickly. No man is bigger than the team
We as fans don't know what goes on behind closed doors . For me the problems started as soon as we won the Play Off final. There was no serious investment in the team during our one season in the PL and although there were many brave performances we were relegated. This season the squad feels weaker and there are one or two players that look like they would rather be somewhere else. As fans we can understand the need to get in to Power Court for the long term future of the Club. What we are going through now is the trade off between the team and the new stadium. RE signed a long term contract but can he deliver real results with one hand tied behind his back? Can he drop out of form and disinterested players for those chomping at the bit to get their chance. Can he tactically organise the team ? Are we getting promoted this season... No from what I saw from my seat at both the wins prior to the Argyle game last night. We probably would have lost the Sheff Wed game but for a ridiculous penalty that went in our favour and being able to play the last 15 mins against 10 men. We will need a run of 10 to 15 games unbeaten to realistically get back in to the promotion places and I can't see that happening the way things are.. This season is beginning to look more like a fight to retain our Championship position than anything else..
Luton will sack RE if this persistent nonsense continues, In any job, if something is broken and you have been hired to fix it, you need to fix it or you are shown the door. When RE was given the job taking over from NJ... the team he inherited wasn't broken, it was working just fine thanks to NJ. RE didn't have to change things much, but now he is required to do so to fix the problem - or it's bye bye and Luton will bring someone else in who can.
i wouldnt say it was fine as before jones left we was on really bad form. probably down to new manager bounce or he somehow had a similer impact to what harford had in league 1 but he didnt have to change much. but know idk what hes doing
he seems obsessed with one formation but it will cost his job if he refuses to adapt

Our corners were embarrassing. We had loads and didn't look vaguely dangerous in any of them. Edwards is out of his depth. His successful team was the one he inherited from Nathan and carried on playing the same way. I've thought exactly the same ...that he could walk. I forecast crunch game will be v Watford. If we're stuffed there he's gone.
Totally agree with you. RE is a young manager and a one trick pony. He looks like he has mental issues at the moment and has been affected by LTFC being relegated. I think he might resign too so we need Gary and the Board to step up and protect the guy. Mental problems and stress is not a weakness and Gary and the Board have a duty of care to protect their asset. Give the guy 2 weeks off and get big Mick to step up and take over for 3 or 4 games. Mick will not play this tippy tappy stuff by playing out from the back which is affecting Elijahs game play. He will also talk to Elijah and get him back on track.
Watched the Liverpool game today. Their system is exactly what we should copy. We should start with our best players, ie, Walsh, Nakamba, Moses , and even Joe Taylor, give them 70 mins instead...players that will run at defenders. I love RE to bits, but think he has lost the plot.

Spot on with everything. They must sit and watch a replay of the game and see what everyone else is seeing! I fear for us against Oxford after they drew with Burnley. If RE doesn’t change formation we are likely to be in big trouble. If things don’t change Watford could well be his last game but with his demeanour at the moment I don’t think he’d be that bothered, looks done with it all. Shame.
I always thought that the manager would change tactics accordingly to the opponents, doesn't seem like Rob has another way of playing. I'm losing the will to live. Another three performances like the last seven and he has to go, people might think I'm wrong but this has been coming, like the man, but he's clueless.
Mate, the truth is we haven't learnt anything. Nothing. What are the chances we learn something in time for Tuesday night?
Can we ditch the endless loopy floated corners? Whip one in at pace for god's sake

Argyle fan here in peace. Game tactics looked like Man U v Wimbledon from the 1990s. I was expecting a lot more from Luton but to be fair they missed loads of chances
Hello Lewis. You know what mate? .. you should be our new manager! I'm serious. You would do a much better job than RE at the moment. Tactically you're spot on. Come on Lewis Luton Town needs you!
No more fist pumps.....no enthusiasm in post match interviews...he is done, bring in a new man...fresh start, they have a good squad to start with. Schumacher maybe?
100% spot on lewis, my concern is yes, 5 things WE have learnt and every luton supporter at the games have BUT edwards hasnt, and thats very worrying at the moment!!
We need to ditch the three at the back.Mengi and Burke can do the job fine. Nakamba in front of them is the way. Chong and Clark need to be rested. They win zero tackles, unless they foul. Krauss and Baptiste in front of Marvelous. Up front is a problem. I would stick with Eli, but he has to deliver soon. Either side of him is open to debate. Moses if he can last a full game and Morris, if he is fully fit.
Some good calls there Lewis. I'll be honest. I hope that when I see the team sheet, there's a change. Deep down, I know nothing will really change. And each week, Rob doesn't disappoint. It's tough for me to call out players because the system isn't right, but if the player lacks quality, that needs addressing. Chong and Clicker have given the ball away far too many times and their final passes are always wanting.
We need to revert back to a 442 and keep it simple but for some bizarre reason Rob would rather shoe horn players into his system that isn't working and doesn't work. The same set pieces, the same play out from the back, the same long balls to no where, everyone back for corners, so we have no exit - total 1D football.
I feel there won't be much change against Oxford, unless Chong's knock keeps him out, so Rob be forced into changes. We have a good side on paper and I fear that if Oxford beat us, the old girl will be EXTREMELY hostile to Rob, which might be the kick up the arse the board needs to either demand changes, or look for a new Manager.
Eli will work well if he gets support and there's just no movement in the final third. You've seen Alfie throw his hands up because there's no options, so the ball goes back. Being outplayed by Plymouth is almost as low as losing 3-0 at Braintree.
Very upset at luton's present performance. Possibly even more upset at Rob Edwards post match response. Edwards seems to repeatedly say that the players are just not playing right, or understanding right or need to work harder at what they should be doing! AGGGHHHH!!!!! Can he not accept for one second that he is asking the players to play in the wrong positions and not play how they normally have done. If you play in a set way over many seasons, like any job you create muscle memory on how you work and can then take the way you work to amazing extremes. If you ask someone to work in a different way, players put the same effort in and can injure themselves. And what is happening? We are playing like a Sunday football team and dropping like fly's with muscle injuries. It's embarrassing.
Think we have to blame the players a bit too the amount of times we have had players that would rather try to score themselves than just pass to a player that has a better chance of scoring. If you look at how many big chances we missed against Plymouth I actually thought they were the poorest side we have played this season. We just made them look good. Also we should have scored 4 or 5
i think we need to go back to a 3 man midfield. we have the players for it. but edwards hasn't got a idea on formations to use
lets hope. the watford game would be the turning point.

Clark should absolutely not be a captain. Hes far too hot-headed and loves gobbing off at officials. You need a more level-headed guy in thay role.
