Tati, I am an 11 year breast cancer survivor. I used castor oil on my brows and lashes when they fell out. I was told to use a spoolie...but I haf no lashes! So I used a cotton pad, yes it was organic and ran a line of castor oil on the lash line. WOWEE ZOWEE! I has lashes and brows that were thicker and more beautiful. It certainly helped me feel better as I was bald! Wondering now why I didn't use it on my noggin!

At age 10, I got a large wart on my index finger. I remember when my younger sister had one burned off at the doctor's office. It was painful and 50 years later she still has a scar. For mine, my aunt gave me castor oil. I used it twice a day on my wart. It fell off in two weeks and it was completely painless. No scar and it never came back. Thank you Aunt Julia. May she rest in peace.

Something being "USDA Organic" does NOT mean there is no pesticides or bleaches or chemicals used. That is also misinformation. Things that are certified organic can be sprayed with organic sprays and have organic pesticides used. They go through more testing and paperwork but that doesnt make them unsprayed. Same applies for the use of bleaches and cleaners, those can also be permitted in the organic industry. I am an organic animal farmer in pa, i have seen and heard the things that are permitted. When my daughter was a teen, we used castor oil for oil cleansing. We mixed 1/2 castor oil, 1/4 avocado oil and 1/4 jojoba oil. Shockingly enough, it made a huge difference in her very painful cystic acne. It didn't make it go away. It did make breakouts clear up faster. It resulted in fewer breakouts and the acne was less angry/inflamed. I highly recommend this if you have acne. You can use straight castor oil or mix it with other oils like we did.

Hi Tati. I wear contact lenses too and was told by optometrist to give eyes a break from contacts but also recommended I buy a heat compress eye mask (has beans and you microwave it) can also use it cold. She told me to use at night as after you have the heat mask on your eyes for 7-10 mins your vision will be blurry because the oil glands are blocked (causing dryness) and the heat helps it be released. The blurriness from the oil lasts a few mins. There are also videos on oil gland massage after the heat mask to help the oils come out Each time you blink it helps oil the eyes (lipid film) which stops the tears from evaporating.

This is great! I do want to share a small comment without offense. I resently learned that while castor oil has antimicrobial characteristics, they are not strong enough to prevent an eye infection when introduced to the eye directly. Best practices would be to designate one parmecutical grade dropper bottle for eyes only where you are not picking up the everpresent staff... from the skin and inadvertintly spreading it. Clean drop is the most protective method. It's just the nurse in me always adding 2 cents. Thank you for this post. I love it!

    • @nanizon
      @nanizon 10 месяцев назад

OK since I'm at it I will also say, Castor oil has a shelf life of 1-2 yrs. The expiratory date is important with castor oil. Do not accept a bottle where the seal is broken because it will have already begun to oxidize. Keep in a cool place out of sunlight, like in a cupboard out of light hence dark glass bottles. Rancid oil will have an off smell and taste. Note: Black castor oil has a strong odor due to the roasting process this is good -still an excellent oil. It takes some time to discern the difference between good oil smell and rancid oil smell. If you are going to warm the oil, warm just the amount you are going to use at that time and not the whole bottle. These are just added facts with which to polish our knowledge.

I tend to mix it with aloe, too. Aloe is another miracle product of nature, and tends to make the castor oil go further, too, while providing a soothing, cooling effect. This method has done wonders for my red, irritated spots (eczema or plaque psoriasis, I have no idea. The spots only started coming last Summer).

I pat the castor oil on my face. I don’t try to rub it in. It absorbs pretty quickly. I also do a liver pack 3 times a week. I use the Goodbye brand from Florida. It meets all the requirements and comes in a brown glass bottle. I store my flannel in a glass jar between packs. I use parchment paper between my flannel and heating pad. I also use a Kansa wand and gua-sha stone on alternate days to work the castor oil into my skin. I apply it several hours before bed to ensure maximum absorption before I retire. Castor oil on the eyelids works for dry eye. I just use fingers to rub it n my brows/lashes.

I love castor oil, and I do think it’s conditioned my brows and lashes very well. I haven’t noticed any additional length/thickness, but my lashes are definitely less brittle. One thing: when I put too much oil on my lashes, I developed a sty… twice in one month! My dermatologist said the castor oil was the most likely culprit (esp. since nothing else in my routine changed) and recommended I use less oil or apply it less frequently. That helped! Just something to watch out for. But otherwise, very happy with this oil!

It too is anti microbial and I have used it to heal infected wounds and get rid of cystic acne. It’s fine for cooking in moderation too. I don’t believe any oil is truly healthy to eat all the time.

I stopped immediately and 6 months later my cholesterol was back down to 150. So I agree about being cautious I had grandmothers who used castor oil so this trend has been around for generations

I am a 56 yr. white woman. I started using castor oil about a month ago on my face. I have seen a decrease in the fine lines under my eyes. Also, my skin still feels hydrated in the morning, and my skin looks younger and has less sunspots. I am getting some argan oil to make a mixture of the argan and castor oils; this will hopefully thin it out enough that I can use it on my body with quicker absorption. ( I will still be using the straight castor oil on my face.) One unexpected bonus for me is I had eyebrow hair grow back. Now, it was in the wrong place, but still! I have been losing my eyebrow hairs so much, I got tattooed, so believe me when I say I was surprised but happy to have to pluck those two hairs from my eye shadow area! Hopefully they will grow back where my eyebrows are actually supposed to be. 😊

That lash serum ingredient bimatoprost is actually prohibited in the EU since a few years because of its many eerie side effects. It is actually a medical treatment for glaucoma (high eye pressure). People who used these eye drops, noticed improvement of their lashes as a side effect of this medicine.
One of the (MANY other) reasons that it is no longer allowed here (I live in the Netherlands) in lash serums, is that this ingredient in many cases changed the eye colour(!) of users irreversibly (even after stopping the use of it!). And it has many other side effects you don't want.
I couldn't find a good article about this in English to quote, sorry. But there should be plenty info available on this when you do some research.

I also decided to use the oil 3 times a week on my lashes. Every time I used it in my belly button, I woke up throwing up and with a vicious headache (mind you, this was cold pressed, 100% organic certified). I tried using a different brand and it also happened. What scared me the most, was the last time I used it and I woke up viciously sick (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps), with a giant headache and feeling like my eyes would burst into a million pieces. Obviously, I am allergic to it and assume I’m not the only one out there (I know at least one more person who is allergic to castor oil). Just be very careful before you go down the castor oil path.

@@deeannemason7003 I’m not sure about your question ? In any case, if I look at it as a chemical should be light clear color up to yellowish but not too yellow. A bit viscous. From what I know about this chemical, should be store in dark and none humid environment. If it’s a plastic jar normally don’t freak out, the product may just oxidize with time, too keep it for a long period of time in the dark (on that note just aluminium foil around it it makes the trick too). The only thing, (that’s …EU based) do not ingest since it can lead to intestinal irritation.

Solid/gel better in glass jar but totally fine in plastic container if cosmetic grade one.

My biggest discovery is that my stomach feels smoother... otherwise I'm also a slim woman but after my last delivery I have a belly in front (like 4 months pregnant) and I now feel that my stomach is smoother and my thighs and butt seem smoother . I have applied this oil to my scalp as well, but I don't feel any changes in this regard, since I have only been using it for 2 weeks. I haven't had any direct problems with my scalp either. You know, I've honestly watched dozens of videos and every time I get more and more motivated to continue using with care.

When I was pregnant with my 5th child, I was 2 days overdue and marched my hugely pregnant buns to the store and bought castor oil. Went home, mixed some with orange juice, and a couple hours later I started having contractions. Had my daughter that day. I did ask my doctor and was beyond my due date, it worked!

I've been using castor oil for a few months now, and I stinkin LOVE it! I can see a difference in the morning in how my skin looks if I skip that step lol I will say though, that I can't even use it on my lashes, or near my lash line, because it causes sooo much discomfort for my eyes if I get it too close, so I would just say be careful there! Thank you for the info about the glass bottles and what not, but I will be finishing my big plastic bottle before I go purchasing a glass bottle of it, because your girl is on a budget💲💲💲

My grandmother, born in 1911, used castor oil. Since my grandmother used it so did my mother. As children under 10 years old we were lined up in the kitchen every morning my brother, sister and me for our daily spoonful of castor oil. Today at age 72, I haven’t touched a bottle of it since I was 7 years old. I did order a small bottle a couple of weeks ago to use on my eyebrows which were missing the outer half due to Graves Disease. This may or may not be helpful to know, my family always kept it in the refrigerator.

I did see a slight increase of length on my lashes after 6 months. It has done nothing for my dry lips even though I apply it to them every night, my brows now have dry flakes since applying it, even though I have stopped I still throughout the day get dusty looking brows from dry skin flakes, it does aid in digestion when I rub a little in the belly button. I had developed a sty on one of my upper waterline that quickly went away, my sight has not improved at all since using it for over six months. It did nothing for my calloused feet or improve my nail cuticles.

I have been using caster oil off and on for years, when I want to grow my hair out. I would mix it with aloe gel as it thins it out. I put it through my hair for 30 to over night. Wash twice and condition. For the last 6 or so months I have been putting it on my face letting it sink in and then rubbing it in circles. I had milia around my eyes and it took them out. Now I use it just about everywhere. It has also taken the little bumps off the back of my arms.

This might seem dumb but hear me out. 😊 I used castor oil years ago pretty consistently on my lashes and brows. I was always scared to put it on my face because it seems to me if it promotes hair growth on your lashes, brows and head then how would it not do the same on your face? The older I get the more peach fuzz I'm removing from my face and upper lip so how would this not make it worse? It's a serious question because maybe it doesn't have that same effect on skin, I don't know.

Since I have to used my face as a canvas, it was recommended to me years ago for eyebrows lashes and scalps. Need to be storage in a cool dark room as possible. I’ve been used it for beauty purposes and provides more benefits than expensive facial creams. Good video bc no one talks about

The ancient Egyptians like Cleopatra used castor oil daily. She was legendary for her beauty. Oil is more hydrated than a moisturiser cream.
If thats the case why do we use a less hydrated product on our skin?

I keep mine in a fridge and after pouring it into a small glass I also boil some water and pour it into a cup that I use to sit the small glass into, it gets nice and warm, as well as thin, easy to apply and it also expands. I also shaved my head so I could apply it to my skull thoroughly.

Not sure about a lot of the details but ‘google’ has become corrupt with so much former data missing now just so you know that. There IS a lot for now still here on YT… don’t knock what you don’t know anything about… it could help you or someone you know when it’s needed.
