Having a sage that could temporarily overheal a teammate to 150 is absolutely game changing and so needs to be a thing. Sage’s heal in this meta on anything other than pistol round is completely pointless and useless

The harbour one i so good! It makes zero sense to throw 3 diferent smokes into the site you're going to rush just for you to imediately get dinked trought them.
The Harbor change ideas are interresting. His primary identity as a controller is protecting his team as they scale, so bullet damage reduction on his smokes kinda fits. Removing the slow worries me though, but i guess it's a good trade off. Riot has previously shown hesitancy in regards to making the Cove persist after breaking, but at least a 2 sec. delay would be nice. In regards to a Sage heal buff, Riot seems adament on keeping self preservation a strength of the Duelist role (that's why her self heal is so low, and why Clove's heal is only temporary). Healing is also not that good in pro play anyways; Iso's shield is good beacause it increases the time to kill, whereas you can still get one shot after healing. If they're gonna buff Sage's heal, I would imagine that they would likely give it some kind of aditional effect, similarly to how Clove gets a speed boost. This could be broken, but what if the healee could, within the heal duration, enter a protective stance and become immune to damage and CC, similarly to Yoru's ult or Reyna's Dismiss. With this change, Sage could really double down on holding a space.
Maybe thinking mans valorant influenced me but I absolutely despise the slow. Punishing your own team for using your smoke in an aggressive way. And it's harbor's, not the most defensive controller.. so dumb to slow
Maybe like during the time they are being healed they are covered in a protective shield similar to Iso shield. Maybe it breaks from one bullet, Maybe it ticks a smaller amount of damage back to the attacking player, as Maybe a ricochet effect Probably not realistic but
Riot has said numerous times that heals overperform in ranked, so I dont see them buffing sages heal to be an overheal. The main issue with the heal is its on a cooldown but you realistically never use it at the beginning of a round, and I think a cool buff would be making the slow orb her signature
I think the harbor change would definitely shift the meta a lot, like we would see another double controller meta but now with astra harbor since astra is back as well. He might become a perma pick on maps like sunset and pearl which are spam postplant heavt
i dont particularly agree with the sage change, i feel like a bigger heal would make her insane in casual play and only slightly better in pro play since people mostly just 1 tap there. i would much rather make her slow her signature instead, maybe with some tweaks to it. love the other characters' changes tho
I'll be the first to admit that I basically only think about the game through the lens of top level play. And, there's definitely downside risk with the Sage Heal buff in ranked. That said, the idea was that she only needs a very small nudge in pro play, where she's good she's still statistically quite good so "slightly better" is the goal. 😅
As long as Phoenix gets caught up with the other duelists, I'm all for different team comps finally being used. It's so boring watching Viper double smoke comps with spam shooting.
It's always annoyed me that pheonixs utility doesn't refresh after leaving his ultimate because as a new player back in the day it just makes sense that it would
Harbor losing his slow effect on high tide and cascades to substitute it for damage dampening makes sense. Hell if you paid attention to his cinematic intro when facing Greaves, the moment his cascade activated the bullets from Greaves rifle (the agent who betrayed him) do the SAME ANIMATION that happens when you shoot at Astra's Ult Cosmic Divide upon impacting the cascade wall. Lore wise it would even make MORE sense since Astra and Harbor have equipment that grants users radianite abilities.
With those harbor changes, my strat of spaming 15 smokes to defuse ignoring the existence of enemies would be even better to play Also, I would love to play with this phoenix , I was thinking of reducing to 5 or 3 points the ult, but changing it to his E with HP trade-off is genius and excellent , if your team don't have a sova become the sova drone yourself

Proposed Cypher changes: Make unbreakable trips impossible. The radius of the trips hitbox should become 25% wider, which means that the trips have to be further deep into the choke, and can also be shot from further back into the choke. Additionally, I think that he should make the same noise when crossing into a cage to make it easier to tell where to counter spam in case you hit a trip. Sage: I think her wall and her heal isn’t strong enough. I agree with riot that because she is a support agent, she shouldn’t heal herself the same amount she heals her teammates, but to make that viable, I think she should regenerate teammates shield as well. She should heal teammates up to 100hp and 20 (in light of the upcoming 25 reserve shield essentially giving them full armor), while for herself it’s up to 60 hp no shield, allowing her to sustain 2 extra rifle bullets worth of damage (again including the reserve shield). I also think that she should be able to place 2 barrier walls, but each one is only 2 barriers long as opposed to 1 barrier wall which is up to 4. (If the player chooses they may also use just 1 wall with 4 barriers). For Phoenix, I don’t like the flash changes they have made where it regenerates because idk about you, but getting flashed by 2 is enough. I agree with the wall changes they’ve made though. I think phoenix’s flash should last .25 seconds longer, and it should also let him pull out his gun faster, so he has a higher opportunity for multikills. I think his Molly should actually be enough to stall for a couple seconds. It should last 2 seconds longer (with no compromise to healing or damage). Harbor should have 2 coves and one cascade. No smokes should slow teammates. Coves should last through the damage, but should only be able to receive 450 damage as opposed to 600. That’s 12 vandal bullets or 13 phantom bullets.
The problem wasnt that cypher had the ability to recall the trips, it was that the trips themselves were unbreakable without util/hitting the trip. If its breakable then any replace will get destroyed.
I wish they’d make a better way to end the Molly post plant meta. If Phoenix’s wall became anti Molly it would be a huge buff. You can still run through it, shoot through it, but any throwable / shootable ability gets burnt as it goes through it. Would make him a duelist that wants to stay alive for the retake rather than dying for information like most other duelists do
I get the direction with Phoenix, but I would prefer Riot try to make him viable while not relying on a every round "untradability" mechanic, and then hopefully use it as a blue print for future duelists. I personally think something like this be enough to have him serve as a Flex pick like Iso is now on Haven: - Hot Hands: Duration increased from 4 to 6 seconds. Heal tick rate changed from 0.08 to 0.12 seconds (same total healing as now). - Blaze: Duration increased from 8 to 10 seconds. Heal tick rate changed from 0.16 to 0.2 seconds (same total healing as now). Can now go through walls if that cast is held. Maybe this isn't enough, but I think focusing on his space denial would give him a good niche.
The Phoenix ult "From the Ashes" is a really cool idea. Not sure that I would like his current ult being changed into a weakened E though. The Harbor changes would be amazing for the game! I don't think Sage needs to overheal but her heal should be able to be cast through walls at the same distance it currently does. And she should be able to 100 hp heal herself, it's silly that they nerfed that aspect of her heal, especially right before they released a trailer of basically a battle sage. Cypher just needs the rearming aspect of his trip to go away. The no cooldown allows for more skill expression, and you have to be in a risky pos to do it.

Oh I love this, awesome. I didn’t know that they said that Harbor was confirmed for changes in the upcoming patch though, all I was aware of was a Brimstone change(s). They mentioned that they “didn’t forget” Harbor exists though so changes are to be expected for him at least until next year. Would you even change anything to brim? Bring back the second stim pack maybe? Maybe change the stim pack to be mobile so it can move as a proxy via a radius around Brim himself? It’s obvious that brim has fallen off the meta recently and has had a similar issue to sage where his viability is really dependent upon map design (i.e. Bind, Fracture) but maybe he warrants no changes and teams just pick Omen as a preference? Maybe Omen needs a nerf? This game is hard to balance 😅
My Brim buff is something I've mentioned on streams and in the discord a few times! He's heavily Aggro leaned in nature so I wanted to lean into that more. I would give stim a KJ-nano sized anti-utility effect. This would give Aggro another answer to heavy entrenchment like Cypher and would create a scenario where Brim players are heavily encouraged to use stim to burst bottlenecks as I imagine the primary use-case was always meant to be; you just get to also turn off trips in that bottleneck at the same time now. I'm sure I'd piss off a lot of Cypher players but it makes too much sense to me. As for Omen I think that Paranoia needs another projectile speed nerf. It should be slow enough in-air that it gets relegated to anti-exec/anti-retake (your opponent basically has to be running towards it for the velocity to be something that is hard to dodge.
The harbor change is really cool but after that change it would make him even less comp viable due to the fact that he goes from a main controller(on maps like ascent, bind, and icebox) to a secondary controller because he can no longer bring proper smokes to push site, for example abys lets say you a throw a wall to smoke off heaven b4 what would happen is people would swing out of the wall get a kill or two then leave and get hit by the slow making them(most of time) die from spray through the smoke although now people can just swing out of your smoke and get value from it so in a way youve made harbors smokes purely only good in post plant as a secondary smoker
I disagree with this, what you're describing is no different than someone dry swinging an Astra/Omen/Brim smoke. "They can dry swing the wall!" isn't a problem unique to the wall that's something that could be said of every non-one-way smoke in the game.

I like these changes, but as an overall health of the game thing, it feels like any sort of op playstyle is becoming is too risky / bad due to the strength of any combo of 3 (duelist + initiator), Vyse, AND the opportunity cost of a different, stronger duelist (Jett) or sentinel (Chamber). Jett still has a place in the meta, but Neon and Double Duelist (Yoru/Iso, for ex) is seeming to be stronger, and Chamber still has such a massive opportunity cost and gets heavily countered by neon AND iso. With your proposed Phoenix changes, I feel like oping against effectively two hard clearing abilities (run it back and drone/prowler/dizzy) and a movement duelist flying at you, not to mention a potential Iso or Yoru is too difficult considering the price of the op and its lack of effectiveness without an escape ability. I strongly believe that the Chamber that existed at the end of 2022 would not even be meta on more than two maps due to the strength of the duelists. I think the op needs some sort of movement buff to be functional with the rest of the cast, not just three-ish agents. Additionally, Riot needs to look into both Skye + Breach for changes. Breach stun is too RNG of a tool to be effective and needs a rework/buff, and Vyse has a stronger info cycle than Skye lmao. I personally think one Skye flash on 40s refresh would give her a niche as a Gekko/Sova hybrid, where you have a strong entry tool but also have the ability to reclear areas without having to commit to scaling for that refresh. Also, nerf lil bros cone of vision. 180 is egregious, that little brazillian bastard.
I personally think giving Cypher a 30 or 45 seconds cooldown for his trip recall is better, making them permanent is too harsh, even KJ can recall her util with a cooldown.
Im going to be honest, I dont think phoenix isnt picked because he can be traded, its because his flashes are the worst in the game on attack, outside of post plant. His untradability is supposed to come from the fact that he can super consistently full blind enemies that are pushing him, but on attack you cant get this guaranteed flash off like you can on defense when enemies are pushing you.
I main Phoenix and if you know how to play him effectively he’s an insane character. I don’t think the suggested ult change and e change works. The problem is, Phoenix is balanced but everything else is not. Instead of trying to bring him up to that level they need to work on bringing everything down tbh

What happened to phoenix's self heal? What happened to his fire molly? Isnt giving him 4 flashbangs kind of excessive? I thought it would be a lot better if Phoenix had 2 walls but they dont heal him and his E can heal him 100hp and is pulled out faster, maybe you can just press E and right click to instead of throwing the fire on the ground you just instantly pop the autoheal, i just think the changes you overlook a lot of phoenix kit, i dont like them
Phoenix needs a movement ability (teleports through his firewall like yoru?) or to have his molly block post plant util (burns incoming mollys/shockdarts away). Just something to give him more value, but I really like your idea for Phoenix! Sage needs to have her slow become her rechargeable ability, and then have 2 heal charges to buy. Cypher needs his trip reproc time reduced, and maybe only able to recall 1 trip 1 time. Gekko needs his ultimate to go to 8/9 points. Lastly, Harbor NEEDS HIS TEAM SLOW TO GO AWAY!!!
Phoenix should have 80 HP in his ult form if it were to turn into E. Personally I think he should be stronger than a pistol headshot but not too strong where it takes the same amount of body shots. His survivability would be much better. And if it turns out to be really strong then it could be lowered with a patch ofc. Then his ult should switch to his fireball. I was thinking something similar to tobjorn’s ult. Phoenix has 5 fireballs and now he can spread them around to deny area/entry and obviously deal damage.

I like these changes, but as an overall health of the game thing, it feels like any sort of op playstyle is becoming is too risky / bad due to the strength of any combo of 3 (duelist + initiator), Vyse, AND the opportunity cost of a different, stronger duelist (Jett) or sentinel (Chamber). Jett still has a place in the meta, but Neon and Double Duelist (Yoru/Iso, for ex) is seeming to be stronger, and Chamber still has such a massive opportunity cost and gets heavily countered by neon AND iso. With your proposed Phoenix changes, I feel like oping against effectively two hard clearing abilities (run it back and drone/prowler/dizzy) and a movement duelist flying at you, not to mention a potential Iso or Yoru is too difficult considering the price of the op and its lack of effectiveness without an escape ability. I strongly believe that the Chamber that existed at the end of 2022 would not even be meta on more than two maps due to the strength of the duelists.
I think the op needs some sort of movement buff to be functional with the rest of the cast, not just three-ish agents.
Additionally, Riot needs to look into both Skye + Breach for changes. Breach stun is too RNG of a tool to be effective and needs a rework/buff, and Vyse has a stronger info cycle than Skye lmao. I personally think one Skye flash on 40s refresh would give her a niche as a Gekko/Sova hybrid, where you have a strong entry tool but also have the ability to reclear areas without having to commit to scaling for that refresh.
Also, nerf lil bros cone of vision. 180 is egregious, that little brazillian bastard.

I personally think giving Cypher a 30 or 45 seconds cooldown for his trip recall is better, making them permanent is too harsh, even KJ can recall her util with a cooldown.

Im going to be honest, I dont think phoenix isnt picked because he can be traded, its because his flashes are the worst in the game on attack, outside of post plant. His untradability is supposed to come from the fact that he can super consistently full blind enemies that are pushing him, but on attack you cant get this guaranteed flash off like you can on defense when enemies are pushing you.

I main Phoenix and if you know how to play him effectively he’s an insane character. I don’t think the suggested ult change and e change works. The problem is, Phoenix is balanced but everything else is not. Instead of trying to bring him up to that level they need to work on bringing everything down tbh

i have question with your pheonix changes, would you get a healed back to full after you activated it or would you need to ult to get that affect
Would have to ult, having a core kit self-heal on top of the Clone would essentially just be giving him a free 5th ability Sage-Self-Heal.

Isnt giving him 4 flashbangs kind of excessive? I thought it would be a lot better if Phoenix had 2 walls but they dont heal him and his E can heal him 100hp and is pulled out faster, maybe you can just press E and right click to instead of throwing the fire on the ground you just instantly pop the autoheal, i just think the changes you overlook a lot of phoenix kit, i dont like them

Phoenix needs a movement ability (teleports through his firewall like yoru?) or to have his molly block post plant util (burns incoming mollys/shockdarts away). Just something to give him more value, but I really like your idea for Phoenix! Sage needs to have her slow become her rechargeable ability, and then have 2 heal charges to buy. Cypher needs his trip reproc time reduced, and maybe only able to recall 1 trip 1 time. Gekko needs his ultimate to go to 8/9 points. Lastly, Harbor NEEDS HIS TEAM SLOW TO GO AWAY!!!

Phoenix should have 80 HP in his ult form if it were to turn into E. Personally I think he should be stronger than a pistol headshot but not too strong where it takes the same amount of body shots. His survivability would be much better. And if it turns out to be really strong then it could be lowered with a patch ofc. Then his ult should switch to his fireball. I was thinking something similar to tobjorn’s ult. Phoenix has 5 fireballs and now he can spread them around to deny area/entry and obviously deal damage.
