Fantastic production values as always and great review (with actual testing and data at that! A rarity in airsoft) of my favorite pistol haha One question though; can you confirm exactly what magazine you used for the test(s)? Was it the stock AAP01 magazine from AAC? I notice you mention a few times that it's TM Glock magazine compatible, but the gas router on TM G-seriesis generally curved, whereas the AAP01's nozzle is flat, and I know of people who've said they've had power issues/poor consistency with TM style magazine routers.
Yes, for the test we would only use stock magazine for all the test, and I would say I’m not perfectly sure with the gen 4 however I’m pretty sure it fits we/vfc/ and Marui gen 3 mags pretty well! Thanks for the supports man!

Another awesome review, not my thing as it is not very realistic but loved the video all the same - great job. Once you've done a few of these could you possibly look into a head to head shootout of types i.e. glocks, m4's, ak's in gbbr please. I have a TM HK45 personally and would love to see some compare videos? How's the mws upgrades? Okay I’m 63 years old and just getting into the hobby thanks to my wonderful son. So he bought the CZ EVO at $750 came with 5 mags and is a rocket ship right out of the box of course it’s AEG not GBBR(think I got that correct (green gas). So I run into a young man with a HPA Tokyo Marui 5.1 with a hop up and absolutely loved it and was thinking of getting one but after all the videos I’ve watched and seeing barrel flip and correction ways I’m seriously wondering if this is not a better route? What’s your feeling being this is a year old video? He said the Marui was the most available parts gun they make? Thanks for any feed back from you or your viewers. Hey Scot! Welcome to the sport!!!! Gotta say your friend is right, Marui do have the most of the parts available and it is indeed the most popular platform on the market. To answer your question, I love Aap01 but it would need some upgrades before it’s gets truly reliable, don’t get me wrong it is a great gun, but I’m worried that for a beginner if it breaks on you quickly you won’t enjoy the sport as much. I would highly recommend some g&g combat machine AEGs (airsoft Electric gun) it’s affordable and it won’t break as easy ( mine first gun was a combat machine as well). Good luck and have fun! @@joshuastimmel I have some friends run it as a primary with a drum mag. Personally I run it with G18 mags and it rocks. For HPA set ups it would cost you around 400-500 USD also I would recommend you to up grade the sears and hammer, those tend to break easily :D Hope this helps!

AAP-01 - bringing the efficiency of plastic Tokyo Marui pistols to the "but it's not metal" crowd (who will gladly make an exception for this new full plastic pistol!)
If your gun runs ok with 12kg I will stick with 12kg since 14 kg add on additional stress to your gun, but if under the temperature that your gun is not functioning properly than switch to 14 KG gas. Hope this helps :D
@@4UADSmartAirsoft I wonder if the AAP-01 or Hicapa would hold the top grade. Though the tests dont incorporate longevity in use or long term overall satisfaction by the end user lol.
If you are buying a gold match just go with a regular hicapa 5.1 it really has more useable parts, gold match has its own special little dimension going on, I won’t recommend it as much. Don’t get me wrong though…. It still shoots great. And if you want a pistol that turns itself into a rifle and smg Aap01 is the way to go. And don’t forget to upgrade the hammer set to cow cow steel sets. Hope this helps!

I like it. Been playing since 2000 , and primarily use tm mk23 as side arm, this pistol floored me. Its a combo, but innovative. I'm hoping other companies now take a look at their models, and see how to improve them. based off AA's config here. Is the AAOP1 "perfect"? ... no, but it is "decent". Full Auto doesn't impress me as much especially on a technical sidearm. Practicality runs out in that option, save for last ditch effort. ( Unless set up as smg/carbine, hpa high capacity device, to be used such way. However, after 5k shots, this will break the gun, 6-7k shots if PROPERLY lubed. ) Other con's , while boasting lots of aftermarket parts, it is not vsr10 barrel configurable. This is a con to me, as TDC ( top down center) hop up options, are the best. Differences is AAP01 and TM MK23 , Mk23 can easily lift .40 bbs, up to .50 with hard buckings, at ranges of 180feet effectively. ( Realistically, 4/10 shot will hit human targets at this distance with the mk23.) but ... AAP01 at 50 meters with lighter BBs is not too bad. Most engagements are going to be way inside these ranges, when sidearms are used anyways. Price wise though, US based purchases, the TM mk23 is over 200 UDS after shipping, and the mags ( if can be found) are 40 USD a piece. The AAP01 is 90-110 USD , in comparison. Shipping better, as AAP01 is available in retailers in the USA. Mag wise, I've never seen ACTUAL tm glock mags in the US, WE mags, and other clones are common, but will they work/feed? That's a gamble. So, I cannot compare pricing, as I've never , ever owned any airsoft glock replicas. Here is where I do see the AAP01 "shine" though. Provided you could gain extended glock mags, and/or hpa , it's a solid contender for speedsoft/speedqb builds out of the box. Further mods to short stroke, and trigger pull/replacement maybe needed there. But compared to usual high cappa builds, cost is way down in comparison, and out the box the AAP01 is already enough to be competitive in this area. Indoor CQB this would be almost over-kill of a replica to use casual wise, but fun of course. "Milsim" wise, not to practical, as most don't even use/carry a secondary, save for any specialty roles. Heavy gunners, DMR users, and of course, us sneaky sniping types do. Over-all though, the AAP01 has impressed me. I do plan on picking one or two up as the become available again. They look fun, and I like how it looks over a glock pure platform.

20-25 might have some slight effect on the mag cool down, but 20-30 it will have some significant performance effect. Usually velocity drop around 1-2 after 3-4 shots but when the temperature is around 20 the velocity drop will be quicker, resulting the gun not cycling as well.

Also WE G Magazins, nur mit VFC G Mags. Its a beautiful pistol for Action Air.Change the Magreleasebuttom into Alu-Part and you have a long time working and good pistol.
After using this gun I have to say really amazing platform but the internal breaks easily, just in case if anything breaks, the WE G18 parts will get you covered !

HPA With a m4 high cap would be the most over power set up in my bias opinion. Otherwise aw glock drum mag would be pretty good as well.

It’s also got the full metal kits, the black mamba was a really sick kit too!
Could a carbine of this compete VS a tm mws? I mean you can use 50 bbs mag VS 35 bbs and accuracy and range are similar.
I think with some fine running it might be possible
So what’s the best bbs for this gun?
It really depends on your setup, but for me I run 0.36g with it and it shoots like a dream

I like it.
Been playing since 2000 , and primarily use tm mk23 as side arm, this pistol floored me. Its a combo, but innovative.
I'm hoping other companies now take a look at their models, and see how to improve them. based off AA's config here.
Is the AAOP1 "perfect"? ... no, but it is "decent".
Full Auto doesn't impress me as much especially on a technical sidearm. Practicality runs out in that option, save for last ditch effort. ( Unless set up as smg/carbine, hpa high capacity device, to be used such way. However, after 5k shots, this will break the gun, 6-7k shots if PROPERLY lubed. )
Other con's , while boasting lots of aftermarket parts, it is not vsr10 barrel configurable. This is a con to me, as TDC ( top down center) hop up options, are the best.
Differences is AAP01 and TM MK23 , Mk23 can easily lift .40 bbs, up to .50 with hard buckings, at ranges of 180feet effectively. ( Realistically, 4/10 shot will hit human targets at this distance with the mk23.) but ... AAP01 at 50 meters with lighter BBs is not too bad.
Most engagements are going to be way inside these ranges, when sidearms are used anyways.
Price wise though, US based purchases, the TM mk23 is over 200 UDS after shipping, and the mags ( if can be found) are 40 USD a piece.
The AAP01 is 90-110 USD , in comparison. Shipping better, as AAP01 is available in retailers in the USA. Mag wise, I've never seen ACTUAL tm glock mags in the US, WE mags, and other clones are common, but will they work/feed? That's a gamble. So, I cannot compare pricing, as I've never , ever owned any airsoft glock replicas.
Here is where I do see the AAP01 "shine" though. Provided you could gain extended glock mags, and/or hpa , it's a solid contender for speedsoft/speedqb builds out of the box.
Further mods to short stroke, and trigger pull/replacement maybe needed there. But compared to usual high cappa builds, cost is way down in comparison, and out the box the AAP01 is already enough to be competitive in this area.
Indoor CQB this would be almost over-kill of a replica to use casual wise, but fun of course.
"Milsim" wise, not to practical, as most don't even use/carry a secondary, save for any specialty roles. Heavy gunners, DMR users, and of course, us sneaky sniping types do.
Over-all though, the AAP01 has impressed me. I do plan on picking one or two up as the become available again. They look fun, and I like how it looks over a glock pure platform.

What if room temperature varies from 20, 25 and 30, would that be a significant difference in velocity?
20-25 might have some slight effect on the mag cool down, but 20-30 it will have some significant performance effect. Usually velocity drop around 1-2 after 3-4 shots but when the temperature is around 20 the velocity drop will be quicker, resulting the gun not cycling as well.

Wait i don’t get how many shots you can fire with a full magazine of gass
We charge the gas till the mag is full and fire it until the slide stops cycling properly and we calculate the shots fired

After using this gun I have to say really amazing platform but the internal breaks easily, just in case if anything breaks, the WE G18 parts will get you covered !
