yeah your right ! i think they realized they made a mistake when the right handed kid from Laval Logan Mailloux wasn't ready to step up ...and they probably thought that David Reinbacher wouldn't be too far behind either ...so now instead of leaving the team struggling by not having enough right handed D's in the lineup, they analyzed which player would be most likely to not play for them in the future and that was Baron!
A lot of D will leave for Habs in next year. Savard, Matheson, Mailloux. Reincbacher will be our next R d most likely. Good stability with Carrier, who cares if he's smaller, they are not winning a Cup in next 3 years. Baron still has potential if he get's pp wave 1, he can be another Matheson a number 6,7 with Florida who came here and got 60 plus points. Lekohnen for Barron and Hage.... Now Carrier and Hage for Lekohnen.
As a Preds fan, I can tell you this was a mistake for one reason: we are TERRIBLE at actually pulling out the potential in players into actual performance. Don’t believe me? Tolvanen. Fabbro. Tomasino. Just to name a few
Barron spoke French to the media often... So that is a non factor here. They made this move to show their team that they want them to be better he's a veteran. Like you said it definitely helps stabilize things however I don't see montreal keeping him for his full term. I expect them to flip him at some point.
I think is to replacement of david savard. It was obvious savard will be trade in march. They will get probably a second or third round for him. Even if slower a défensive right def are a commodity in nhl
Barron just didn't develop the way the Canadiens hoped. The Canadiens need to have some more defenceman that focus on defense. I wish Carriere was bigger but given Barron has zero trade value what do you expect? The Canadiens are lucky Nashville believes in "potential". You are mistaken Guhle is a certainty. I still wish we had addressed the backup goaltender.
I never thought that anybody would trade for Barron. Good riddance. I never saw him hit anyone in Montreal and he was awful to watch in his own end. Barry Trotz should be fired after this.
Baron is a tremendous skater with terrible puck handling skills and is brutal in his own zone, it’s such a waste when you can skate like that but you don’t fix the easy stuff like getting stronger.
Big win for the Habs. Carrier is miles ahead of Barron in terms of defensive play, much more reliable for the PK as well & he brings experience.
Mtrl also used their pick to draft a kid by the name of Micheal Hage
6 foot 11?!?!? Holy
needs to gain a bit of weight, at 174 lbs he'll break like a twig
😂
5"11 he read it wrong
@@nadirrhaloui2221 nah he's 6'11"
@@nadirrhaloui2221 Yea he's def 6'11" Lego wouldnt read something wrongly trust me
The Habs had a bigger, right defenceman than Barron and now Carrier in J. Kovacevic and they traded him to New Jersey for peanuts
Maybe someone could bring us with some intel about why they made that trade?

Mailloux leaving? What are you on haha
Hage was not part of any trade
Hage won’t be traded lol

I think you will be surprised. Barron will become a good defenseman, and Carrier's going to be retired in 5-7 years.
Nashville won the trade.
@ Carrier’s only 28, he’s got more than 7 years left in him, and the players I mentioned were supposed to be good for us also
@GoldGoomba_YT You see him in the NHL at 35? I don't.
He is a little small
Never knew it was the trade deadline
For the Christmas brake.

I am not really surprised to see him gone!

Savard will be gone by this time tomorrow
carrier is hurt, won't happen tomorrow, more likely the trade deadline
Every move they make gets worst,.time to fire the gm and replace him with snoopy
Finally
HORRIBLE trade for the Habs.
Lmao Avs fleeced the Canadians with that Lehkonen trade 😂
stop living in the past
The second round pick was traded to advance a first round pick that became Michael Hage I wouldn't complain.
