  • Sorry but website with templates and plans is now down thanks to hackers and running costs.
    In this video we make a cheap easy to use vacuum former that not only works well, but is quite quick to build. essentially this was made from scrap wood, a tube of silicone sealant and two screws, but it works really really well.
    If you've ever thought about how to make a vacuum former, this build would be a good place to start.
    Here's a link to Kipkays video on building a vacuum former, which was the first one I could find, so I'll give him some credit : Kipkay's vacuum forming video: • Weekend Project: Make ...

    I was looking at vacuum formers so RUclips slipped me this video amidst some others I was actually searching for. And this is my favorite build so far! So dead simple. I love it when builds make a point to show how you can make it with household items and basic tools. Subbed!

    Great Video! Who wants to discuss the desired most efficient "depth" of the suck box to get the best Vacuum action going? On the small 12" x 12" inch vacuum form table I'm attempting to build, I already want to place the vacuum hose straight down under the table like a kitchen sink. Don't mind placing the vacuum form box up on stands or even wheels. My shop Vac (I plan 2 use with the vac-u-form) is a 1989 Genie 1.5 (horsepower?) 2" inch hose outlet model that still works fine.

    Why use caulking when you can use wood glue as a much stronger bond between the wood pieces?

    • @BrainfooTV
      @BrainfooTV  6 лет назад +3

      Because a silicone or caulking is nearly as strong but seals all holes / gaps 100% airtight, even if your wood is not perfectly smooth
