Peer blocked from taking part in debate after ‘falling asleep’ in the House of Lords

  • A peer was blocked from taking part in a House of Lords debate after being accused of falling asleep.
    Labour peer Lord Young of Norwood Green was told he could not take part in a debate on regulations governing genetic modification by Government frontbencher Baroness Bloomfield of Hinton Waldrist.
    As he stood to speak in the debate, Lord Young said: “I wanted to take part in this debate because I stake my position as somebody who is a Remainer, but if there’s two things that I welcome in coming out of the Common Market, one is the CAP and this particular gene editing…”

    You generally get sacked for falling asleep on the job. The fact this seems to be so common just goes to show the utter disregard these people have for their constituents and the general public.

      Peer blocked from taking part in debate after ‘falling asleep’ in the House of Lords 0930am 15.3.22 called out and yet they were all found lacking...as for falling asleep.. i once fell asleep next to a woman. but that was soon put right... and have fallen asleep whilst watching various dvd's in my life as a full time dole dosser and hater or all things interesting ie: my film choices as are my choices in women being immature.

    If that was the case there would be no one there because there all a sleep most of the time,sleepwalking from one disaster to another.

    You always get around 7 sleeping or nodding off. Its just and expensive auld folks home.
    Did he lose his wages for that day - naw bet not.
