Um it does, if you have windows open and no power, the inside of the house will get colder, not as cold as being outside, but colder then if you had power and no broken windows
HOLD UP! I can have proper window and proper curtains in my Cabin in the Woods! I have played project Zomboid for too long and I somehow didn't know this thank you.
@@friedmandesigns Preferably with a well. I like to plant crops early game then I build a cabin/storage building while I wait.../helicopter helicopter/ Oh No.
You can also move bushes outside. Craft battery connectors at elec lvl 5, for battery powered lamps. Keep food warm by placing on top of the stove (when off). Repair gas tanks in cars, by emptying and removing them first. And a couple I can't remember right now.
Lol my base has both sides of the window barricaded and curtains closed so no light gets through. I also build little fortifications around the outside of the window as they are often the weakest part of the bottom level of any base. Then I usually use a combination of crates and fences to block the stairs and ropes out the top story to get in and out. And I only use the bottom level as storage.
you can also use the mod "more buildings to build more windows. you technically don't craft glass but your window has glass. i understand if it breaks immersion but if you are making your house from scratch like me its super useful.
having fun is what matters in a game... if a game offers modding support then more power to the player be it mods that increase atmosphere and immersion or mods that break the game with rocket propelled wheelchairs, goofy mechanics or big booty zombies
WTF I went to bed thinking...damn I need to figure out if i can replace windows, or just leave this base. First recommendation when i wake up? This. Google home is goin in the trash bois
To be fair, it is possible that this was added in more recent years (not sure since I've only got PZ a few months ago). It does happen to me too though: I learn how the game works and much later I find out new hidden stuff that I didn't pay attention.
I want to replace a broken window at my newly liberated country club base. I have the tools, but the game won't let me pick up a new window pane. Does this work on all types of windows, or only those with a frame? To clarify, I'm trying to replace a full pane you normally find on office buildings.
holy crap... I just googled him and now I want to watch the movie :)) The character I'm emulating in these videos is Vlad the Impaler, but now I cannot unsee Tom Savini :D
That was a good tip I was always wondering about. Your slav accent and narration may just propel your channel in the long term, provided you add some amusing quirks. But speak up and put more energy into it. Good job!
It's never too late to learn something new. Those that stop learning stagnate, the mind rots and are doomed to live in the past. Glad, this video helped btw.
Dude I've seen hundreds of these tiny zomboid details and I never knew you could pick up windows like this. Amazing.
Literally thinking the same thing, now I wonder the other possible objects I can pick up
You can even pickup the tiles from the floor xD
I forgot to mention that you do need carpentry level 2 :)
I mean carpentry Lv 2 is easy to get so no big deal
Ohh, okay. Why do you have a Romanian King as your avatar? :|
@@Blockade573 Because I liked his aesthetic moustache, of course :-{D
Tipical russian, a zombie break your window, you steal a new window.
sounds pretty romanian
Sounds pretty West Chicagoan.
Sounds pretty Japanese. Except there's no wife taken.
Seems like an entitled sjw tbf
Sounds pretty piraty
I was expecting a zombie to break through the window again at the end lol
Good to know i was not the only one.
I have like 400 hours in game and never knew this. This is awesome!
I would love it if temperatures indoors were affected by open/smashed windows and doors, providing incentive to do this when it comes wintertime.
The incentive is zombies not wandering in silently and zombies not hearing the sound you are making inside.
Um it does, if you have windows open and no power, the inside of the house will get colder, not as cold as being outside, but colder then if you had power and no broken windows
@@everythingpony No. Windows and/or doors have no effect on temperature.
@@Dennis19901 that incentive only exists depending on the type of base you have.
@@Dennis19901 Perhaps coming soon to a P.Z. 42.xx iteration near you, though. ☻
Amazing guide, I did all 8 steps. But how do I replace my stepsister?
Remove "step" duh....wait an minute...
is she stuck in the old window?

Thats why its important to always carry tweezers around with you.
This is the high quality content I come to RUclips for
I always thought that once a window is broken its one and done, thank you for teaching me a new thing today!
I mean, windows are a finite resource since there are only so many on the map. So you will run out...eventually....
@@darmocat what i meant was i thought that you couldnt do anything about the broken windows
Dont know why but this is so satisfying

Ive always used a sledgehammer to demolish the broken window. Never thought of just picking it up
revolutionary content. now I can stop drafts getting into the base
This blew my mind, thank you for posting this.
Oh lord we need more content like this
It sounds like he's announcing the plan to a heist and I love it
You learn stuff everyday with that game. I was tired of the sound of the wind inside even with barricades.
I will definitely use this method in b42
Not gonna lie, At the last part I was expecting for a zombie to just destroy it again and enter.
You can also move bushes outside. Craft battery connectors at elec lvl 5, for battery powered lamps. Keep food warm by placing on top of the stove (when off). Repair gas tanks in cars, by emptying and removing them first. And a couple I can't remember right now.
And most importantly, you can kill zeds with a pencil. WITH A F***ING PENCIL.
this game has so many little details it blows my mind

" don't worry dude just pick up another window "
" *pick up what?* "
Wuuut? Playing this game for years now ... didn't know that! Thanks so much dude. Take a like.
Guys , i think this channel will be a banger , lol
some real quality videos, keep it up!
Hell yea, was confused on how to get the windows but this was groovy enough and helpful enough for me. 😍
Thank you sir for the tips. Keep up the good work!
Never knew this, but i figured you could do something like this, just never knew where to begin to replace and or repair it.

2 steps to replace window
1. Don't let window be broken
2. Kill all the zombies so they don't break window

window? dont you mean 2 metal sheets??
what's the point when you are just going to barricade them anyway?
