Got told can't get 5.1 audio on PC with this unless using 3x aux cables, does it come with the 3 aux cables? Can I get the 5.1 audio surround sound on my pc with everything that comes in the box?
For movies and tv show from netflix for example, you need to use Z906 with Optical cable. for PC games you can either use Optical or 3 cable (green, black, orange) to get 5.1 sound.
You probably can, but you would want to keep them the same as the sound may change when using a different speaker. The amp is designed to be used with what comes in the set.
as long as your speakers are rated 65 watt RMS or lower since the amp is design to only output that much power for satellite speakers. if you use a higher RMS wattage speaker, the volume will sound lower than it should be.
Hi, just bought one used without the aux cable. I used it via optic cord connected to the tv and my tv to the laptop via hdmi. I would like to connect the speakers directly to my laptop but when I tried with a single aux cable it didn't work. Can you please tell me, do I need a 3x minijack(similar to the original) to connect it to my laptop and if so it's ok if I only plug in one jack in it to get 5.1 surround sound?! Thanks
Set your laptop to output audio with the HDMI cable connected to your TV. connect the Optical (tosslink/SPDF) cable from your TV to your Z906. Go to your TV settings and change audio output to Optical. You should get 5.1 surround sound now when the Decode Lights up on the control box of Z906. remember that the audio source form whatever movie/tv show you are watching has to be in 5.1 surround sound format or else you won't get true 5.1 sound from Z906. Usually your TV app like Netflix or Hulu should be playing 5.1 audio source but you can always check it by going to audio setting on the app when you are watching movie to select which audio you want to use. It should look like this; English 5.1, English Stereo, Spanish, French. Anything that doesn't say 5.1 next to name of audio, its in stereo only.
Do you reckon it's worth it for £160 (now, 2022)? Wanna connect my laptop and LG CX to it ... would I need an external audio interface for the laptop in order to use is as 5.1?
Yea I think so! I'm still using it and loving it. hard to find something out there for your PC that's 5.1 surround. Although not sure how well it'll go with your laptop in terms of 5.1 compatibility. Might wanna check you can do that with your laptop.

Yes you can headphone 3.5mm jack on your laptop to connect it to Z906. You must connect it to the control console on right side in the hole that has the music note icon next to it. you will only get 2.1 stereo sound with that connection or use 3D setting on console to get fake simulated surround sound.

I am bit of a n00b regarding surround stuff :D
no, sound source must be 5.1 and the connections must be optical or 3 plugs (green, black, orange) is only way to get 5.1 sound put on Z906. Yes you can use your Harmon speakers if it has the same wires.

Managed to score, a well looked after second hand set of these, for real cheap. Also have a set of z680s, I bought 2nd hand for cheap, but they were a little bit beat up. On comparing the two, imo, the z680 beats the z906, for solid bass, and sound quality. Even the old z5300s I used to have had better bass. Never owned z5500, but I'd say they would the cream of the crop. First thing I noticed was, with z906, that I was able to pick up the sub with one hand. Try that with those other 3 systems lol. Otherwise, I'm not too upset with my latest purchase. They're not bad, but after the comparison, done under raging, garage party conditions, the difference was day and night. Keeping my eyes peeled for a set of z5500s now...

If you have a DVD player with mic inputs, then you could connect them to the Z906 and have Karaoke by way of the DVD!
How does this connect to the TV? Is it the number 2 plug via the subwolfer?
Use optical cable to connect to you TV, optical number on Z906 is Output selection 3 and 4, the 5 one is is COAX.
Hi where can you but longer cables for the speakers? and how to pick the right ones?
The longer cables should be use for the rear left and rear right speakers since they're positioned further away from the subwoofer.
@@jcunboxing Thank you
Just to make sure when you put everything in there place how was the experience?
Is the sound power good?
Excellent. Love these speakers. Don't regret it at all.
is this set with optical cable can support Dolby 5.1?
Yes
Thank you very much for the video. What is the cables length of the speakers? They can be extended up to 10 metres ?
i have the same speakers. but i wont say that they are 10 meters long. but you can always buy longer cables ofc. but they are long though.
Can connect into smart tv? For that we need aux cable?
to buy this on GENIUS SW-HF 5.1 6000 II Dark Cherry? i`m afraid because speckers are plastick geius is wood
Wood and plastic doesn't make any difference anymore they basically sound the same. the wood speakers are just overpriced for same sound quality.
Would a DVI to a VGA extension cable work?
and how long are the cables for the back speakers?
no because that is not a monitor output. its a DB-15 ph connector. so no a DVI to VGA doesnt work.
Good sound. But if you push the sound to loud. The system overheat after 10 min.Not good if you want play the music very loud.If you are in apartment that ok.
MERCI POUR CETTE VIDEO
Is it possible to connect other passive speakers in the subwoofer? I have 2 Harman Kardons and I would like to use them as front L & R speakers :))) Also, this may sound dumb, I have external sound card (Steinberg UR12), so I just plug Red and White cable to my soundcard and I get surround sound (I know it depends of the source ect ec.), but what I mean is, like if I play game or listen to music, all 5+1 speakers will output sound even the original source may not be for 5.1 system... I am bit of a n00b regarding surround stuff :D
no, sound source must be 5.1 and the connections must be optical or 3 plugs (green, black, orange) is only way to get 5.1 sound put on Z906. Yes you can use your Harmon speakers if it has the same wires.
can you buy the speakers only and connect them to an av receiver (sony str-dh790)
Nope. They come in a set.
No, it's HTPC
Great Video! I have a question about the speakers, are they labeled as "Front" and "Rear" speakers? Or you can just set them up however you want them to be front or rear?
The rear speakers specially designed for highs and mids. Hope it has answered your question.
front and rear speakers are exactly the same specs. only center speaker is different cuz of his shape.
How loud do these get on max volume 5.1 ??
loud 500 (RMS)
Loud enough to shake your neighbours house
These speakers are really loud at max volume, Satellite speakers is 67 watt RMS, the subwoofer is 165 watt RMS.
Isnt the box particle board, not plastic?
I want to buy used logitech speakers, some offer the z906 and z5500 at the same price, I'm confused which one is better and better for the sound
Z5500 for bass, z906 for quality
Z906 blue box ones does not overheat. Z5500 have quality control problems.
How long are the cables for the rear speakers?
idk but you can buy like 100 feet of wire for like $15
What the best way to connect to my tv.TV.. noticed had 3 outputs green black and yellow for headphone.. I have optic and headphone on tv as well as the red white wires.. which is the nest set up to get max output
connect it using Optical to get 5.1 surround sound. Red and White RCA outputs are only Stereo.
Which device did u connect the aux cable to
Did you ever do a review on how the speakers sound after properly placing them? I'm currently debating getting these speakers for my pc setup :)
Great video btw, you earned a sub
Thanks!
I didn't end up doing a review. But I still use and love these speakers for my PC setup. No regrets at all getting them :)
what should the volume of the rear speakers be on the console? is max ok? will it spoil the speakers?
Depends, but generally don't cause the speakers to distort, could damage over time.
@@jcunboxing also whats the windows volume i should set? Any sound cardd would u recommend? Or is my x570 strix onboarf sufficient?
@@jonathanleonard9507 Set 100% volume in windows, x570 is good enough. Connect using 6 channel direct cables, and configure 5.1 setup in realtek audio console in windows. You could use optical cable instead of 6-ch direct cables, if you feel like your motherboard's audio codec is suppressing the quality.
I see older z906 and I think thay changed the colour slightly aswell as the box and logo the rings on speakers near mesh is black now and the rear inputs plat is not gloss but now flat that's what iv noticed
if my z506's ever die I'm going to get this x)-
Can we use it without controller?
Hi., Does anyone know the crossover frequency of z906?
Hi there, does anyone know what’s the difference between z906 the new and old version, thanks
New version Blue box one, has the overheating issue fixed. Old one is prone to it overtime the more you use it.
How's the Bass adjusted?
You can adjust the sub via the controller.
@@jcunboxing nice no more getting up because the voices are resonating
Total noob here. So I know these speakers can easily connect to a pc, but what about a Tv? I’m buying a tv for my room and gonna have a pic and ps5 connected to it. Is that something I can pull off??
Well, what exactly do you want to connect to the Z906, your TV?
connect PS5 to TV with HDMI cable to HDMI on your TV. Connect TV optical to Optical on Z906. Then Connect 3 cables (green, black, orange) to your PC and connect it to Z906 Green/black/orange to get 5.1 sound on both. use control console to switch between the sound source; PC or TV/PS5.
I would want to know about wall-mounting of the satellites and if the satellites come with wall-mounting screws.
Nah they don't, you'll need to buy your own.
@@jcunboxing I think that is where they failed. Had the system come with its wall mounts then it could be so nice
Good for music?
Yes. I have them and they are very loud and great sound also
Very good
sounds good on flat EQ, makes music sound great when you EQ it to whatever genre it is.
3D Printed Slim Brackets for Z906 Speakers : ruclips.net/video/YJEc90-U5hc/видео.html
It is 500w too?
Is this loud?
Hell yeah
Why didnt you try this set ? Unboxing is not that exciting as I thought by the end of this video you would play the system so we could have an idea of the quality of the sound... :(
you can't really judge sound quality through video either, you have to be there in person to listen to it to really know how it actually sound.
Can connect with my.ps4 pro??
Setup please, i am halfly eager to buy this. Great job btw!
instead of this go for onkyo/denon avr
@@m4mike250 small price difference….
Will it decode a 5.1.soundtrack from a DVD movie?
It should if you've got the connections don't right. Use optical for best results. But mainly depends on the DVD and your DVD player.
optical is only way to get 5.1 sound on Z906 from DVD/Bluray player.
not plastic sir, they are mdf
This system suitable for pc.
Yep, use it every day for my PC :)
Its made for pc
Maybe Logitech should put a Stone inside the control to make it heavy so you will not HATE it ..Can't believe you will complain about the control not heavy so you don't like it ..
i have the same set and the control box is fine. just normal weight if you ask me.
Only reason I am not buying this system is because nobody was able to answer me on how to connect this with my new 55inch smart tv.
optical/spdif/tosslink cable
Does it come with a optic cable?
Nope. What you see in this video is what you get.
@@jcunboxing Thanks
Price?
Why are 95% of all the reviews of this product from Down Under?
the rectangle is almost like a tweeter
what cable should
i use when i want to connect it to a TV?
optical/spdif
Ummm its not quite 1000 watts. 500 verified. Logitech is tight lipped on where the other 500 watts come from
It is 1000W PMPO(Peak Music Power Output)500W RMS.
The tweeter is NOT 80mm.
Ok
500 (RMS)
yup 500 rms
8" sub= 165 watt @ 6ohm
3" sats= 67watt × 5 @ 4 ohm
165+335= 500 watt RMS but please dont expect a sound quality of 500 watt it sounds just like an average 100 bucks speaker....
If you want a longer one there goa your power cable. Its called an extension cable.
let down by no tweeters and not dolby atmos
Price in indian rupee? Plzzz fast
Best to check your local supplier. But I got these for around $349 AUD.
@@jcunboxing in malaysia cost about RM1335 = $449 AUD
28,000 INR
Doesn't support HD audio.
Supports 3d audio, better.
