20bhp extra from an intake on an NA engine?
I doubt it.
The purpose for the design of the Porsche intake box is so that it draws in cold air, the one you installed draws in hot air from around the motor..
That’s not true and there are dyno results that prove otherwise.
It projects out into the original side vent area so it's pulling cold air.
The real benefit of a "cold air" intake is less restrictive airflow, not that the air it pulls in is actually colder.
@@frederickschulze8014 that's not true. Cold air intakes are usually relocated in the engine bay to where the air is colder. Colder air holds more oxygen, so cold air intakes get more oxygen, than if the air is warmer.
@@pS-sv3pm That's true for some people, but almost everyone you see at car meets or club racing keeps it in the same location as the stock airbox, and they often have to remove the shielding from the airbox meaning they're pulling in even more warm engine bay air. But they usually still see an increase in power. For most people, the majority of the power increase is from the more free flowing nature of these intakes.
I always liked the design on this generation porsche boxster/911s, accually the gauge looks like a Carrera GT gauge and its a first gen boxster, so huge amounts of fun out there with amazing mid engine handling and sound.good job with the mods. Keep it up.
Man... that thing sounds good!
I feel your pain on the removal. I did the pcs intake on my cayman and spent a lot of time in there with a dremel
What an awesome sounding car I'm considering this system for my own 986 Boxster S
It’s definitely worth it!
Sounds so good
Nice job!
It would have been nice to see you show the removal and installation. From how you described it, it sounded as though it was a bit of a bugger to get out.
I think the addition of the free flow exhaust, de snorkel and a clean air filter and MAF is all you need.
what does the MAF do?
@@harrisogilvie2317 measure air flow
20 HP for a air intake, don´t think so. Show me a dyno test, but not from fabspeed.
IKR 😂
Can you tell me what size spacer you run for those wheels and do you ever get any rubs?
I don’t actually run an spacers. Rubbing was never an issue either. The only downside is that because if the larger wheel size your speedometer is off by a few mph
what wheels are those?
did u take the snorkle out
that drivers side vent tube
Yes
If you get it tuned it will actually work rn ur fuel to air ratio is messed up
Which exhaust do you have in this video?
Fabspeed supercup exhaust
You aren't going to really hear the intake sound driving with the top down.
Lol. Unless you are on a Dino you do NOT know if you picked up power. I hear if you put some stickers on, you pick up even more power.😂😂😂
Are these reliable ?
what exhaust do have fitted nice burbles from that
Fabspeed supercup
i'd love a boxster but am 195cm Tall :(
How much would you sell it for?
I may sell it next summer for 7-9k
@@JH_Cars hilarious!!!! I paid 2k
@@kingofthewestmidlands4049 becouse you car must looks like shit.....
where are you located in NM? I am in southern NM.
I’m in South Eastern NM
@@JH_Cars Are you closer to the east boarder or Las Cruces?
Roswell actually, but currently in ID for school
that will barely give you 10 hp especially without a tune
4:45 do you have a tune? I want to make my 986 pop like this. not a pop tune just few pops when I let go of the gas.
No tune! Just an exhaust that’s less restrictive. Throw on the Fabspeed supercup exhaust and your set. For more aggressive pops throw on some catless headers
