I grew up in San Dimas and have fond memories of this little city. I now live in Palm Springs, but will say, that this town is truly special and has a magic aura to it

Is San Dimas More Or A Western Town Or Closer To The Interstate 10 Freeway?

Roady's Restaurant my sister worked there Patty Hill and my parents Ken & Bev Hill went there when older and mom disabled to have dinner and get out a bit all week long, every week for years. Let owners of restaurant come and pick lemons in our half acre lemon grove for free. Wonderful people. But I probably know most people living in town. Fifty years.

This is my hometown. They destroyed my hometown. San Dimas could have kept the wooden sidewalks and structures. Also the harassment of the Los Angeles county sheriff increased incredibly.

You mean they took out the wooden sidewalks in town? Is the train station still there with apts. upstairs. I lived there. Was born on Pearlanna St. Gladstone/Amelia for twenty years. Then uptown to Moore Place, the last dirt road in San Dimas last house on the right side. My parents lived there for thirty years. I live now in SW WA, Pacific coast. Just above Astoria, OR. We put in the library complex. This is why I like to remember it the way it was now how it is with capitalism involved. So sad we tear down instead of restoring along the way. In heaven it will be the way we each remembered it. That's what's great, I can't wait. Serve Christ and it will be this way for you also in Heaven. God bless you.

The new police game is wanting us in CA to get used to state being a police state. Meaning police officers can call the shots instead of waiting on a judge. So everyone is a suspect and all they do is look for charges. Great so how do we get help with that? They just put people on a payment plan, force you to classes to learn to not do what you are doing. Parenting, anger mgt., drunk driving. They have to keep a tight reign right now for so many reasons.

The wood sidewalks were finally crumbling from weathering, termites, age, and not ADA compliment, people's wheelchairs we're getting stuck in the ruts and broken boards. They had to bring it up to code. Funny thing is that I knew this would happen when they first put them in to look rustic and old timey. They actually lasted a lot longer than I thought they would. It's not what bugs me about the new guard. I think that ending the annual Western Days celebration to substitute a wine and food crawl is unforgivable. They could have added that to Western Days. They could have modernized the activities but still call it Western Days. I think it's disrespectful to the history and the long time residents.

Mark you need to do your homework before doing a volg. Are you editing also before you post to see if you would want to see what you have filmed. Good luck!!!

The Carruthers Mansion is still there. It was a private residence when I went there all the time to see my boyfriend. Fred Bruner. We called each other Jeff & Jenny. That is the 2nd beautiful mansion I have ever been in, my family mansion is better. In Covina CA, Reeder St. and So. of Arrow Hwy. can't remember but it was on the corner. House sits way back, Gus & Mae lived there then their kids got it. Family name of Hill. Mansion last name of Shouse (could have spelled it wrong). Wonderful family, kids snoots. Never had parties there after Gus & Mae passed over. Too bad they were overnite pool parties. What a blast that house is.
