The orange juice comparison was spot on about this fragrance, the opening was so good and I was like “ok we got one” but then it dried down and just died. Definitely not worth the money it reminds me of a Bleu de Chanel type fragrance. Great review

I do prefer Aventus Cologne but then again I like a lighter fresher scent...I get above average preformace with tons of development during the dry down...now that it has been out a year you can find it for 1/2 the original retail. This is my go-to fragrance, I think its a brighter/fresher Aventus with a more woody dry down and a less smoky wood heart...
I much prefer the cologne of Aventus vs. Aventus. I find it more wearable, plus I received a complement on it while wearing from a free sample. The down fall is the price tag, can't get past that. May have to try the DUA version or Alexandria's once it's created.
Rob Wheeler wow good taste in this thread. Ombre Leather is really good and gets compliments unlike many other Tom Ford fragrances. The only other one I get compliments on are Mandarino and Neroli. The oud ones and tuscan leather are hated by most. Layton is good too. I think Aventus is better but Layton is much better priced so it goes either way. Try pegasus too and Amouge reflection.
Thought cologne smelled better than original in dept store, which has too many batch variations. My daughter said cologne smelled more “expensive” and that was the deciding factor for me to get cologne and not the original.
Great well balanced review 👌 I sampled this too , the opening is fantastic but the dry down is somewhat forgettable to me. I did get a lot better longevity , 10 + hours but the projection was somewhat light after the opening. I pretty much echo the same view as you. It's also a little cheaper here. 195 euro but still not worth it to me. Hopefully it works for others and if it does I'm glad they found something they love 🙏
Yes exactly. Some may get better performance just as you seem to get better than me. I just need a fragrance with more structure and backbone for this price.
Great review Brother. First Viking then this. Creed is taking “social media” influencers too seriously. They have had 9 years post Aventus and what have they achieved? This is disheartening to say the least.
Here is my honest critical take. Aventus is much too strong for me. When I put just one spray on, I start to feel sick, my throat dries, I get nausated. The scent is OK but much too powerful. I think Creed made this lighter version because this was a common theme from many for a long time. People often exclamed, yes, I like Aventus, but it is too strong. So Creed made an Aventus many could embrace. I think it was smart. It's not wise to compare this with the original. It is meant for those like me who liked the scent of the original but couldn't use it because of its powerful strength. One could never wear the original Aventus to work, no way, it is an outdoor one for sure. With the new one, you can wear it to the office. Like it for what it is. It is designed for those who are senstive to the original.
I am saving up so that I can buy aventus and Virgin island water... Great review and also you are the only fragrance reviewer that uses background music properly. Others just make me deaf with their music...
It's a flop based on the cost. Not sure what you think, but they seemed to get their inspiration from Versace pour homme. It smells 95% the same in my opinion.
That’s my favorite cologne so thanks. I’m definitely getting it now lol. But I go the smart/cheap route and order it by 10ml bottles off eBay for super cheap 🤷🏻♂️
I agree with your assessment, Chris. It smells great in the opening, then it goes flat. I don’t believe that the scent profile or even the quality necessarily warrants the price. I will say that you guys in Europe/UK are fortunate that the price, while inflated, is reflective of its comparison to the original. Here in the States, AC is exactly the same price as a brand new bottle of the original Aventus. There’s nothing about the ingredients of AC that makes sense for it to be as expensive at its predecessor, and even the original is overpriced in regards to its current formulations 😕. I disagree it has a very musky and woody dry down with patchouli and vetitver. Not sure why this sometimes goes unnoticed by some reviewers. Not seen one review yet mentioning the stryax in the dry down. prehaps one of the most underated dry downs in recent fragrances.
Hi, after hearing so much about creed Aventus I decided to buy one this year. Disappointed as it only lasted one hour on my skin. I was keep on asking my family if they can smell it.
I was pleasantly surprised with this really like it as im not a fan of original aventus. Lovely fruity and fresh but do agree longevity not great and definitely not worth the money. Great review as always Chris
I think the smokiness that was so “popular” in the original aventus is actually what I don’t like about it lol. I like woodsy/musky colognes, but with this one, it’s like it smells super old and burnt almost lol. I prefer the fresher pineappley side of it. Like that dry down that you said “fixes” the original aventus.. yeah, I don’t like it. Really only smells okay when first applied. And then maybe like 4 hours later just before wearing off completely.
I have it, I wore it, I agree with you almost 100%. I think you’re being kind. I didn’t even get 2 hours out of it. Probably will just wear it out and move on.

I bought a sample travel container of aventus cologne, just to try it before I went and spent a lot of money on something I may not have been happy with, and in actuality I definitely would not have been happy and would have wasted a lot of money the fragrance is nice it's a little different than aventus but it definitely does not last long at all!!
I haven’t had a Creed perform longer than a few hours at all. I have Viking, Royal Mayfair, Bois Du Portugal, Royal Oud, Green Irish Tweed. The last two perform the best but maybe 6 hours…tops. For the price Creed isn’t worth it, especially since they stopped making the 4oz bottles and went down to 3.3, yet kept the price the same. That was a great idea 💡. I almost bought Aventus until I learned about the 5,000 different batches, which makes no sense whatsoever to me, instead I grabbed Nishane’s Hacivat, and for the money I get compliments for about 12 hours, it’s a beast and IMO smells better than Aventus. Creed is decent but for the price, the performance and silage needs major improvements.

True. I think it was quite a strange choice for an Aventus flanker. I can think of tweaks they could have made to the DNA that would have been more popular amongst Aventus lovers.

Rip offs. None of them are worth it. Aventus now has and has been having performance and batch issues and now a cologne version is just an insult for the cost. These characters at Creed and the other houses should get their acts together snd start makng fragrances that actially perform again and stop ripping people off with their weak water in fancy bottles and boxes
I wore it to dinner with old coworkers the other night and got 4 compliments . 2 commented when i hugged them and 2 smelled the projection when i came in. Smells good..not worth the price though. I live in Texas so it worked well in the heat
Not a big fan of creed , apart from Aventus and acqua fiorentina ( despite it's a flowery version of Light blue and doesnt last long ) but I tested all of them even A cologne, not my cup of tea too. Better and much more interesting fragrances around as example Eleven Hour from Byredo based on cloves or the amazing Elysium.
A fair great review as always, not smelt it yet. But I do think it's a shame from Creed I am only a novice but I kinda thought niche brands were all about, quality creativity, beauty a statement, not cashing in on flankers. The more affordable designers were about mass appealing just wantin to generally smell good and make the company wads of cash. So why has a prestigious wonderful company like Creed gone that way? Anyways my opinion. Just seems a shame because most of the people who can afford something like this will be like yourself knowledgable and excited to try something that should be something different and ground breaking that you have to own not kinda just milking the success of another and it's you guys we listen to when we wanna make a one off purchase of something great. But Mr Creed is rich and successful so what do we know
I wouldn’t say I get great performance but I definitely get a solid 6 hours with Aventus Cologne which is nice. Comparable performance to YSL Y EDT. That being said I get borderline beast mode performance out of Aventus, even my 18G11 batch which isn’t particularly renowned for its performance. So I think this DNA just works really well on my skin. And tbf fresh scents in general tend to work above average on my skin. I’m a very lucky person in that regard 😁

Hey brother, I’m looking for a fragance similar to aventus to wear at daytime in Miami where it’s very hot and humid. I already have aventus and I love it but I decided to only use it at night cuz in day time it doesn’t last long due to the hot temperatures. So, I’m looking for something fresh like aventus and with a similar scent but that lasts projecting for at least 5-6 hours. I tried hacivat and I didn’t like the sower scent it has in the dry down. Do you think Elysium would be the best shot? Does it last and project longer than aventus cologne?
I tried Aventus Cologne and I totally agree with what you say. I found the opening to be very generic and uninteresting, and the dry down was plain nasty.
I might sample it someday. The original Aventus smells good, just doesn't last very long. For what Creed wanted for their fragrances I just buy small decants. 435 for 100ml here in US no thanks lol.✌
What would you suggest as a versatile, niche, fragrance (that could be worn all year round)? I’ve got Carlisle as my “statement juice” - I think Aventus is just too good for a grab and dash. I’m thinking along the lines of Aventus Cologne or Green Irish Tweed (as I want a different house to PDM).

Hi Chris. I tried it in the Creed boutique in London when it first came out. I thought the opening smelt like the original Aventus which was good, But then after about an hour it dried down to smell a little bit like Chanel Allure to my nose, which is not really what you want from a £220 fragrance. Then after 3 hours the scent had gone, although a weird thing did happen it came back again around the 5hr mark and was faint skin scent for another couple of hours.
Sometimes people claim they become anosmic to Aventus and others around can still smell it. When wearing Aventus Cologne I was asking those around me and they couldn't smell it either. Pretty strange decision by Creed to release this IMO.
I get way more compliments from the women with Aventus Cologne than Aventus although I get lots of compliments with the latter as well. But something about Aventus cologne gets the female nose drawn to me. So they are both amazing but men like the OG better.
Haven't you heard Chris? The modern rebel is a conformist. lol Strangely enough, Sebastian did mention that he gets pretty good performance, so maybe the juice in the bottle is different from the one in the samples?
More likely to be skin as my decant came from a bottle. A few people seem to claim good performance but I've seen more comments relating to poor performance unfortunately.
I'm a bit confused... you start by saying that you like the scent and then proceed saying that it sucks although the opening is okay... I agree with you the opening is good, but all the rest is not up to par so for me the conclusion is that it sucks. Maybe if it would cost £50 would be fine
You know... I actually ended up buying a 100ml bottle just for that opening based off a carded sample. The samples opening didn't last but a few minutes. I'm pleased to say that the juice from my bottle lasts for a few hours. Other than the opening the scent is just eh for me. But that mandarin is divine, and especially during this heat/high humidity we have(currently at 80-90% humidity daily, it's AWFUL). Also let me add this: I did buy some ISO E Super recently as a 20% concentration, if I use it first then layer it with AC I find it turns into a very wonderful scent.
In my opinion none of Aventus or aventus colonge are worth the money because the smell is not complex packging and bottle nothing spec and they do not last. For that price point i would buy Roja doves fragrances awsome luxurious packging bottle is wonderful they last long time and smells complex and rich
i used my sample for a date in the hot heat and what can i say, after 30 minutes i didnt noticed the scent anymore... the Opening is really nice, i like it, but already after some minutes, yes already after like 10-20 minutes the magic is gone and there is just a uninteresing drydown left… and the Performance for me was below average, even my John varvatos fragrences perform better, not kidding…. i will stick with the Beautiful aventus, this one is trash imo, sorry

Your honest opinion provided a bit more truth and gave me a much clearer picture. Decant worthy? Absolutely I will buy a decant! Bottle worthy? Well, that will be determined, but it looks like the writing is on the wall for this Creed release. Viking was better in every way, shape, and form. I still believe Creed wasted their time with a flanker, and should of just pushed for a new release.

What’s happenin brotha?Long time subbie,first time dropping a comment 👍🏾👍🏾 Great Page man,you always hold it down.As a Southern California native,I just got back from your neck of the woods this past May.I was in Europe for 3 1/2 weeks.Started off in London,stayed in the Kensington district at a hotel right across the street from Kensington Gardens(such a stunning park)Went to the Chelsea vs Watford match,so glad I got to experience European football in person...SICK lol.I don’t know what part of England your from but I love your country man.Even leaving London on the Eurail headed toward Amsterdam,I really enjoyed the English countryside. Before Amsterdam we stopped in Brussels.Then did Munich Paris Monaco and Milan.Helleva trip bro,Definitely coming back in the near future.The reason I bring all this up though is I had no clue fragrances in Europe is much cheaper than the States until I was doing some research getting ready for my trip.Other than a few occasions I went through fragrance.net,I usually purchase most of my niche fragrances retail just because I don’t wanna take the risk of having any problems with stale or fake juice.With that being said,After I checked into my paris hotel.The first thing I did after grabbing a nice meal on the patio(LOVE Europe’s patio/cafe culture)was headed for the creed boutique.Purchased a 50 ml GIT for 133 Euros 💶 💶💶 😳😳😳 bro it’s 295 USD plus tax here,I literally got half off.I also picked up my dad the huge 6 oz 200 ml bottle of Grand Soir from the MFK boutique for Father’s Day while I was there.Saved like 150 more than what I would’ve paid here.I joked with the ladies that helped me I may never fragrance shop in the States again haha.Next time I’m buying like 3-4 bottles just to take advantage.Anyways brotha Sorry for rambling but to get back on topic.After I got back from my trip I went to the Beverly Hills Creed boutique and checked this out.Dude gave me a sample.I dig it man it’s pretty dope.Nice and clean, very wearable.Goes hand-in-hand with sunny California etc. etc.Those Euro prices I might pick it up.But certainly not what they’re asking here in the States lol.I bought a 100 ML of Aventus for like 460 after taxes about 6 months ago from Neiman Marcus.If I knew then what I know now.I definitely would’ve waited for Europe lol Smh.Peace and Blessings brotha. Rip offs. None of them are worth it. Aventus now has and has been having performance and batch issues and now a cologne version is just an insult for the cost. These characters at Creed and the other houses should get their acts together snd start makng fragrances that actially perform again and stop ripping people off with their weak water in fancy bottles and boxes
I wore it to dinner with old coworkers the other night and got 4 compliments . 2 commented when i hugged them and 2 smelled the projection when i came in. Smells good..not worth the price though. I live in Texas so it worked well in the heat

Not a big fan of creed , apart from Aventus and acqua fiorentina ( despite it's a flowery version of Light blue and doesnt last long ) but I tested all of them even A cologne, not my cup of tea too. Better and much more interesting fragrances around as example Eleven Hour from Byredo based on cloves or the amazing Elysium.
Its a cash grab but people will still buy it because its Creed.

A fair great review as always, not smelt it yet. But I do think it's a shame from Creed I am only a novice but I kinda thought niche brands were all about, quality creativity, beauty a statement, not cashing in on flankers. The more affordable designers were about mass appealing just wantin to generally smell good and make the company wads of cash. So why has a prestigious wonderful company like Creed gone that way? Anyways my opinion. Just seems a shame because most of the people who can afford something like this will be like yourself knowledgable and excited to try something that should be something different and ground breaking that you have to own not kinda just milking the success of another and it's you guys we listen to when we wanna make a one off purchase of something great. But Mr Creed is rich and successful so what do we know

I wouldn’t say I get great performance but I definitely get a solid 6 hours with Aventus Cologne which is nice. Comparable performance to YSL Y EDT. That being said I get borderline beast mode performance out of Aventus, even my 18G11 batch which isn’t particularly renowned for its performance. So I think this DNA just works really well on my skin. And tbf fresh scents in general tend to work above average on my skin. I’m a very lucky person in that regard 😁
Thanks for the review, nice analogies. I won't be seeking this out, sounds rather uninteresting unfortunately. Perhaps Nishane Hacviat is more of what you would expect an Aventus Cologne to be actually.

Hey brother, I’m looking for a fragance similar to aventus to wear at daytime in Miami where it’s very hot and humid. I already have aventus and I love it but I decided to only use it at night cuz in day time it doesn’t last long due to the hot temperatures. So, I’m looking for something fresh like aventus and with a similar scent but that lasts projecting for at least 5-6 hours. I tried hacivat and I didn’t like the sower scent it has in the dry down. Do you think Elysium would be the best shot? Does it last and project longer than aventus cologne?

I tried Aventus Cologne and I totally agree with what you say. I found the opening to be very generic and uninteresting, and the dry down was plain nasty.

I might sample it someday. The original Aventus smells good, just doesn't last very long. For what Creed wanted for their fragrances I just buy small decants. 435 for 100ml here in US no thanks lol.✌

What would you suggest as a versatile, niche, fragrance (that could be worn all year round)? I’ve got Carlisle as my “statement juice” - I think Aventus is just too good for a grab and dash. I’m thinking along the lines of Aventus Cologne or Green Irish Tweed (as I want a different house to PDM).
You could go with Amouage Reflection. Roja Elysium and Burlington 1819 are versatile. Also Creed Viking or Original Santal 👍🏻

Hi Chris. I tried it in the Creed boutique in London when it first came out. I thought the opening smelt like the original Aventus which was good, But then after about an hour it dried down to smell a little bit like Chanel Allure to my nose, which is not really what you want from a £220 fragrance. Then after 3 hours the scent had gone, although a weird thing did happen it came back again around the 5hr mark and was faint skin scent for another couple of hours.
Sometimes people claim they become anosmic to Aventus and others around can still smell it. When wearing Aventus Cologne I was asking those around me and they couldn't smell it either. Pretty strange decision by Creed to release this IMO.
@@FRAGMENTAL it's your skin. I get 12 hours of aventus cologne, people can still smell me. Also, aventus cologne is €190 for 100ml here.

I get way more compliments from the women with Aventus Cologne than Aventus although I get lots of compliments with the latter as well. But something about Aventus cologne gets the female nose drawn to me. So they are both amazing but men like the OG better.
They should have made Aventus Intense instead with the 2013 style smokiness

Haven't you heard Chris? The modern rebel is a conformist. lol Strangely enough, Sebastian did mention that he gets pretty good performance, so maybe the juice in the bottle is different from the one in the samples?
More likely to be skin as my decant came from a bottle. A few people seem to claim good performance but I've seen more comments relating to poor performance unfortunately.

I'm a bit confused... you start by saying that you like the scent and then proceed saying that it sucks although the opening is okay...
I agree with you the opening is good, but all the rest is not up to par so for me the conclusion is that it sucks. Maybe if it would cost £50 would be fine
When the scent is at its best in the first hour or so I like it. After that it dies too quickly so overall it doesn't justify the price point.
You know... I actually ended up buying a 100ml bottle just for that opening based off a carded sample. The samples opening didn't last but a few minutes. I'm pleased to say that the juice from my bottle lasts for a few hours. Other than the opening the scent is just eh for me. But that mandarin is divine, and especially during this heat/high humidity we have(currently at 80-90% humidity daily, it's AWFUL).
Also let me add this: I did buy some ISO E Super recently as a 20% concentration, if I use it first then layer it with AC I find it turns into a very wonderful scent.

In my opinion none of Aventus or aventus colonge are worth the money because the smell is not complex packging and bottle nothing spec and they do not last. For that price point i would buy Roja doves fragrances awsome luxurious packging bottle is wonderful they last long time and smells complex and rich

i used my sample for a date in the hot heat and what can i say, after 30 minutes i didnt noticed the scent anymore... the Opening is really nice, i like it, but already after some minutes, yes already after like 10-20 minutes the magic is gone and there is just a uninteresing drydown left… and the Performance for me was below average, even my John varvatos fragrences perform better, not kidding…. i will stick with the Beautiful aventus, this one is trash imo, sorry

Hi Chris, as always; I appreciate your videos. Thank you for your own personal take on Aventus Cologne. Irregardless whether your opinion has been like the others, this video was still needed! Your honest opinion provided a bit more truth and gave me a much clearer picture. Decant worthy? Absolutely I will buy a decant! Bottle worthy? Well, that will be determined, but it looks like the writing is on the wall for this Creed release. Viking was better in every way, shape, and form. I still believe Creed wasted their time with a flanker, and should of just pushed for a new release.
