I was told by Rivian to spray the dry lube between the slats. They didn't mention spraying the rails. I've done that on my OG Tonneau cover, and they are still working as expected.
@LoganRiley-ck7pd The dry lube I bought, WD-40, came with a built-in straw. So, with the Tonneau closed (extended over the bed), I spray the lube along each slat where it meets the next slat. It's a bit messy as not all the lube (ha, ha LUBE 🤣) goes between the slats. But in my mind, I'll take a bit of messiness rather than a broken cover. But as David mentioned, I'm also going to try Jose's way next time.
I've was using WD-40 Specialist Dry Lube when I had the OG tonneau cover, and it worked great. Just so you know, the updated tonneau is great. Still a bit noisy but never jams/slows/makes loud clunk noises, and mainly, works every time and doesn't fail. :)

Good call!
I think the combo of those two will be good. I’ve had mine just over 2 years, still working 🤞 but not a lot of usage.
I think that's where the majority of the noise is coming from.
How do you spray it between the slats?
