    When you walked down into the lazarette and the the engine room was when I really got interested. This is more my style, utilitarian, not artsy-fartsy, yet comfortable, even for crew, if I had the dough. Myself, I would prefer to eat and sleep where the crew does, so if I had the means, just one central galley and mess hall. If the paying guests don't like that, they can stay ashore or book another vessel.

    • @liuuuuu1
      @liuuuuu1 5 лет назад +2

      I suppose you never did a cruise on a boat like that. Even (more) the crew doesn't want to stay with gests/owners. Don't forget they're living on there work place. They want their own space, a bit of independance and privacy when they are not supposed to work.
      Same in the other way. You're the owner, you don't want a meet a resting crew member you maybe don't even know at 2:00am , both in underwear while you both go to kitchen to take something to eat during a sleepless night. Just an example over a thousand.
      You don't want to eat and sleep next to your boss. Same for them.

    • @LoneBrowncoat
      @LoneBrowncoat 5 лет назад +2

      @@liuuuuu1 ...No, but if you saw my other posts, if I could buy one of these, it would be to make it a working vessel. Where everyone's an equal, in my youth i was a worker on a factory ship, where its on the seas for days and the fish are filleted(de-boned) {the women were better at this than I}and flash frozen on the spot, so I was made a junior engineer's mate, decades later, working security along the St. Lawrence Seaway, I had to lock/unlock the gates for the provisioner's straight trucks to come and deliver. Hence my other comment. The AWOL has a husband and wife on board, I'd give them the support vessel's owners cabin and as a single person, move into the captain's cabin. As just one example.
      Unless your post was meant to be a put-down. Let me repeat, a working vessel, not a big toy. Both Alex and Damen have said the hulls could be configured any way the buyer wants. From their own history of building cargo and other ships. If I hadn't been overly conservative {chicken} and dropped twenty grand into BitCoin in 2007-2009 when it was still a penny a piece or less I would be in a position to buy a SuperYacht now, according to current exchange rates. I wouldn't fit in with the Gates, celebs, or Arab Shieks, hoi-paloy or other super rich. I'm blue collar-working class through and through. When I was a passenger, when I could afford to travel, it was on freighters, most have cabins in what was once called 'supercargo'. Less formal and you did/do mix with the crew and was nicer when bringing pets with you. Unlike a plane, I could go into the hold to see my cats or dogs [depending on what I had ATM] and if they were chill, take them out of their cages for exercise or playtime. Sometimes the cats were allowed to stay in the cabin with me. Freighters usually had one or two ship's cats around anyhow.

    For what I’d like to do, this thing would work just fine. More laundry capabilities is needed from what was shown, unless there’s an additional laundry room, for 13 people on extended voyages it’s a must, the walk in’s were fantastic, plenty of food storage for those many weeks out at remote locations. Having to pull into port sometimes isn’t always convenient, unless you’ve got a demanding owner who insists on having the freshest fruits and vegetables. But they can last a long time with proper care, Having some extended sea experience, a lot of dairy products can last quite a while, milk, and milk products, like dairy creamer etc. was the only thing we had to watch carefully and rationed at times. But we never ran out, but this vessel can do the most amazing things I’d like to do, except I’m broke.

    without knowing about this when i was a kid i saw in tv that some company was selling a small ship, around 1200 tons, i ask my older brother "hey, a small ship like that can be used like a yatch?, cos if we buy that ship we can carry the entire house inside, and with all family and friends, we can sail the whole world, we can have a huge backyard to play even we can put a pool in the deck and...." and my brother say me "shut up, dumb, ships are not for that, a yatch is a yatch and a ship like that is a cargo ship, no more!!"
    but after 40 years i know that many small used ships can be converted into a yatch with a good distribution of the spaces and taking out some unnecesary machinery to have more space to civil life, the vessels of Damen are extraordinary good, lot of time ago i been searching the quality of Damen vessels cos i have this idea to take a normal ship or vessel into a yatch like this since i was a kid, just look all that dammed space!! even helicopters can land in some emergency in high seas!! this ship-yatch is like my idea, quite better than a real yatch, more space, more strong and robust, super cheap compared etc
    congrats for this channel, Alex dude, i suscribe now, greetings

    It’s all well and good walking bare-foot around these vessels, but if the sole of your feet are black, who are you helping!!

    Addendum: As for "toys" I would prefer a couple of these 'trikes' with range extenders. It would require berthing where you'd have access to a roadway, but you could go get your own provisions rather than depend on a provisioning contractor/company, either the five door or the mini-pickup with the 400LBS capacity.

      @@DenisonYachting ......Thanks, I agree with the posters here, you can start as a dive vessel, but on either this or the 75 metre, add one or more laboratory spaces and lend yourself out to universities and such as a maritime research vessel. In other words, a true working ship, rather than a big toy.

      The Greek Customs uses these vessels for that very purpose. Fitted with guns and such. They look awesome! There are some videos on RUclips of them. There are other navies also. Your comment is spot on.!!

    THIS. I. LOVE.
    Just give me this. A crane, a submarine, a monstrous dive locker. Maybe a trawling rig and wet lab to keep critters around, for good measure.
    No jet skis, seabobs, or inflatable whateverthehells. Want a pool? Jump off the stern.
    I don't get people who would rather jetski than explore an undersea volcano.
    (Could you guess I'm a marine biologist?)

    This is the first walk through of a support vessel. Honestly was extremely interesting!
    So glad to see you back Alex. Glad to see you’ve completely recovered. Definitely missed seeing you in front of the camera. I always enjoy your videos.
    And it was great to see those sexy feet back on RUclips 😉😉
