Clemson fan - Really heartened by the effort. Wish the coaches had pulled denhoff and moved woods to DE sooner, but Garrett Riley is the real deal for what he did with zero running game at his disposal
@@hunterjohnson8202Sellers will be good in 3 more years, but rn he’s inconsistent and unable to make the tough throws against good teams. If he develops more as a passer he could be similar to Lamar, but he’s not even close yet
As a Texas fan, Klubnik and TJ Moore were incredible. Yeah, they were down big and needed to go into stress mode, but they still went out and dealt it, regardless of losing by 2 TD's. Those 2 next year will be good to watch. This was the first time I had watched Clemson since they were in the NC games. But they have to get better on the o-line and their defense; specifically depth.
Thanks man. As a Clemson fan we need lots and lots and lots of help on defense that once proud Defense is a meer shadow of itself nay it is in pieces. Linebackers were out of position all year long, Defensive front could not get a push and set the edge all year long . Changers have to be made and if they are and we just improve 50% I think we will be a true contender next year. But Thanks for the encouragement. Hope yall go all the way and kick some butt
I'm not worried about the OL. They've made tremendous strides in their first season under Matt Luke compared to last year. I'm mainly worried about our defense.
Opinion from a Clemson fan: I think Dabo is holding out for revenue sharing to hit, and believes Clemson will be able to get back to that level because of it. I feel good about the offense, but we need some better coaching on defense. Lack of fire and fundamentals. Also, we were never down 31-7…31-10 at worst
Everyone talks about Texas having the easiest path forward but when you look at who they play if Oregon wins... they play the 4 toughest conference champions. Minus Boise.
OSU and Oregon, if that is what Clemson can do to Texas secondary.... They are in trouble against either of those teams. Cause they not only run the ball well, but they are going to take your top off.
Personally, I feel Texas will get it figured out (if they beat ASU) against a top tier team after only playing 1 (Georgia) all season. I really hope we get a shot at OSU or OR because I think Texas has kind of played with their food for most of the season this year. 🤘
Imo when it comes to Texas’ pass defense you give more credit to Dabo who’s been in big games and Klubnik who played the best game of his career. He threw at least 10 dimes that had to be on the money. Yeah again in Howard he played his best too. All games had storylines for why games played out the way it did. It’s not Apple to Apple KD sitting there saying Texas’ defense isn’t that good. Even bad defenses with Texas’ schedule couldn’t do it. Even Ohio st is up there on defense and Oregon did it to them. Anyways I give it up to Clemson and Klubnik. We put our DBs on an island to shit down Clemsons run game which they did. Clemson had 79 yards rushing and it’s what had to be done. Also don’t forget to mention we ran almost 300 yards with two of our starting olineman out. Both of whom will be drafted. One was our center who calls everything. I could over the storylines from other games too. Either way besides Dillion Gabrielle there’s not a QB from week to week that has played out of their mind like we saw a few in the 1st rd. We’ll see if that continues
this is a slight concern given the fact that kirby stuffed dabo in a box and shipped it back to clemson. but a win is a win. I just think texas has too good of a roster to not dominate like ohio state did to tennessee
I think Clemson a is a good team, but the upper half of the SEC is just better than they are. South Carolina beat this team on the road, I think Texas winning by two touchdowns at home is appropriate.
Our issue is Sark gets cute, as well as Ewers makes baffling decisions, at best. He self-sacks, does some twist around throw, locks onto his first read. We have as many weapons as Ohio State, but Sark is stubborn. He just can't look in the mirror and admit to himself that he needs to stop calling stupid plays, like to the flat, screens, to teams who have good LB'S. Even though Quinn hit 2 deep passes last night, he's a terrible, God awful thrower of the deep ball (32% completion pctg). It's just small stuff that can be avoided if he just stopped going into full moron mode. He's a square peg, round hole guy, rather than take what they're giving you. It's annoying, frankly. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
@guiltybyproxy1 just stop with the bashing of Quinn Ewers. The interception wasn't even his fault. The ball was on the money. Arch was put in the game and didn't do squat. QE3 is the best QB on the roster.
Clemson also was down to their 3rd string RBs. Mafah had been gimpy the past 2 games and was nowhere close to 100% even before he left the game (he only had 2 carries, I think). His normal backup, Jay Haynes, blew out his ACL against SMU and could not play. At one point, they were lining up receivers as backs. Not saying that it would've made a difference in the outcome, but it was good to see that the offense was still able to produce without a ground game (or, depending on your perspective: a bit concerning for Texas that they didn't shut them down completely, knowing they couldn't run).
Defense needs changes Linebackers need to learn to stay in there lanes and Defensive front needs to man up and get some push on the line but mostly this linebacker crew needs a lot of work before we are great again
Here's my theory. Clemson got the flu. There was a lot of coughing going on in the press conference in Clemson. I was alarmed they allowed reporters in like that.. In the post game interview one coach sounded like he had the flu compared to his voice days earlier. This would translate to players also having the flu and slowing their reaction time by a tiny fraction. In other words, the loss was a fluke, if you'll pardon the pun. Also, about 23. Wow. it was like he was in two places at once. I'm a bit superstitious so I wonder if God was trying to say anything about the number 23 since it came up a lot these last couple years and I've written about no other number more than the number 23. My mother-in-law's address in Japan is 2323 Hope. Maybe you can see it in the first name of 2323 DESCARTES. It's like the mother of numbers. Numbers are more than we realize, more than just stats. Football is a numbers game, and that's what makes it the greatest game on Earth.
I bleed Burnt Orange... But unless Texas steps up several notches offensively, not a chance in hell we beat an Oregon, Ohio State, Noterdame, or Georgia.
I think the Clemson winning streak they went on after Georgia smeared them fooled most of their fans. They went on a 6 game streak against about bunch losing records. And then another quality team in UL rolled into town and again...Clemson gets smashed. Their best regular season win was against a 7-5 Pitt team that hasn't won a game since October. And even then they needed a miracle run at the end of the game to come back at the last minute. Watched the SC game and frankly if SC doesn't turn the ball over inside the Clemson 30 on three different drives, that game is a blowout too. Most of the talking heads at Clemson seemed to be worried about their run game against Texas. But none of them seem to know that Clemson's defense is far overrated. Statistically speaking, Clemson looks good on paper, but then you look at the teams on paper and you see the tale of the tape. They built their season rep beating really bad teams and when it came time to face a decent team, they got popped. 33-52...That is the combined record of the teams they beat in regular season conference play.
Dude your full of it. Clemson went right back down the field on SC and lead the whole game. If not for the pure luck tipped ball interception we are going into OT in the valley. We really only had one bad quarter against Texas. It was a one score game going into the 4th quarter and they hit right back. Clemson went back down the field and Texas stopped them at the 1 on a big 4th and goal stand. Have some respect

Cade klubnik will be a Heisman front runner next year. He diced that Texas D. If Clemson gets a new DC they will be a playoff contender.
Clemson never went down 31-7, I remember the halftime score was 28-10. If you're going to say that number that many times, at least get it right.
Up 31-7 i think Texas got lulled into relaxing it happens

Apparently, that's why they call it an "advantage"

I agree. I think Dabo does too if you listen to what he said going into halftime. I think he knows Wes Goodwin's time is coming.
This game was all about quarters. Clemson actually won the combined 1st, 3rd & 4th quarters, but got killed in the 2nd.

Texas lost 2 OL & a RB during the game...otherwise Texas wouldn't have stalled imo.

There is no "p" in Clemson. To put one there sounds ignorant.

It felt like Texas could have just run the ball every play and won. I'm not sure why Texas quit running as much when they had a huge lead?
To keep people healthy. We lost our right tackle and running back and sat them for the rest of the game. Lotta football to go.
They were never down 31-7.
