Do you really mount the plates only with wooden dowels?
No screws needed to hold the plates edges together, only the small support strip in the edges?
And glue, no screws .. ? .. can't believe it..

This is the way Gerrit Rietveld first designed and made this chair himself by hand. Without robots doing most of the work. It is a genius, simple and elegant design by one of the greatest, most influential and visionairy furniture designer and architect of the 20th century. His furniture designs and buildings still are what we refer to as 'modern' and 'forward thinking' to this very day. Over a century later....
