This could be an awesome series of game designers/programmers from the medival age of gaming. Please more of it and they don't have to be dead.

I had the opportunity to meet Bob more than once at PRGE. He was a very nice man, always friendly and eager to speak about this games. He autographed some of my carts as well during those conventions. It was a sad day when I learned of his passing.

He was a great guy. I had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with him at several conventions. I was so saddened when I read that he had passed and would no longer be at conventions. Sadly, some of these legends are starting to get up there in years and we will see more of them pass.
    Such a great tribute!

Video Pinball is an all-time Top 10 game for me (for the 2600), and I will always have a soft spot for Riddle of the Sphinx.

I'm new to 2600 era vintage gaming, so I'm just now learning about the pioneers of the games of my youth. This was a wonderful and informative video, mostly wonderful.

Good video! RIP Bob Smith, I didn't know he made these games for the Atari 2600 and other systems! Nice to find out about the programmers for the Atari 2600. I hope you will do more of something like this!

I'd love to see you review WarpSpeed if you haven't already. I guess it's essentially a dollar-store version of Wing Commander, or maybe a reskinned Starmaster in Wing Commander's clothing, but it's an interesting game and definitely feels like a time capsule of an older era. The Genesis and SNES versions are similar in most respects, but have a few odd differences.

Riddle of the Sphinx: Something like fifteen pages of instructions. Flat. Scrolling only until you find an object.

There is no way to accurately describe this library. ALL of these games are on my Well Played category. These are absolute master pieces on the 2600.

I play moon sweeper almost every day. It's on my favorites list on the iiRcade. It's not the same version (it's Coleco). But when I was around ten, eleven, and twelve it was among my favorites. Still is.

I have fond memories of Star Voyager. I loved those type games, with my favorite being Phaser Patrol for the Starpath Supercharger. I also loved Starmaster. I was never fond of the 2600 port of Star Raiders though. I found it hard to tell exactly what I was supposed to be shooting at and where they were. I liked the 5200 version though.
I also never cared for Dragon Fire. A friend had it, I tried it and just found it more frustrating than fun.

Nice tribute NSG. Video Pinball was very playable back in those days. At least a $4k bonus from Atari is better than what Rob Fulop (Missile Command, Demon Attack) got (coupon for a Christmas turkey). I liked Star Voyager as well but even he knew that Alan Miller from Activision had his number with Star Master which was the better game. Lastly I was not a fan of Dragonfire. Too frustrating.
