he meant to say 4 lakhs per month. Cabinet secretary also gets around that. 4 lakh per annum is like 35k per month which is less than what normal clerk get.

@@VikramKumar-wd4dr He spent a lot of the time in the US and then moved to India. Similar thing happened with me too, after coming from UK, I used to calculate everything in Pounds in my head.

@@lakshayshtenics Not crazzy. But yes made calculation error. I checked online it says RBI governor salary is Rs 2.5L per month + Lots of Benefits. (Obviously housing , cars, security, utilities, aides, travel etc etc etc).
The current salary of an RBI governor is around 2,50,000(2.5 lackhs) INR per month or around 30 lackhs INR per annum. The current highest-paying job at RBI is a Deputy General Manager with a salary of INR 73 Lakhs per year.
How is a DGM earning more than the Governor ?

The highest post in rbi is that of a governor. At present Rbi grade b officers gets 1.7 lakhs per month(including perks, in hand probably be around 1.2 to 1.3 lakhs per month) they get promoted to grade c then grade d then grade e then grade f then Ed then dg then governor. So there is no way his salary Was 4 lakh per year even at that time.
He's talking about basic pay. Then there are allowances.
