Hello everyone, I am really stoked to demo this guitar, I have been a long time Ernie Ball string endorsee but funny enough have never had one of their beautiful guitars in my hands. Well this week was my lucky week. On Friday I received this guitar and Wow is an understatement.
From the Burl top and alder body do the incredibly delicious Roasted Birdseye maple neck with 24 amazing jumbo frets and that thin profile and liquidy ebony fret board, needless to say it took very little time to realize I am going to be in very big trouble with the wife because now I don’t want to send it back, and so Ive tried going on the run but lets face it I am in big trouble!! lol
Who else has been stuck in a similar situation!?! Let me know down below your stories on the matter.
But back to this guitar, if the features I listed above weren’t enough it also has some of the most amazing pickups in it. We have two humbuckers that are able to be split using the tone knob, just gotta press and release. And then for the volume knob we have a 20db boost!!
I can’t get over how amazing that volume boost is! Its just like having a pedal on the guitar, giving you to opportunity to get some mean rock and roll tones right from the clean channel, and then kick it to hum bucker mode and the 4 horse man will think they lost the job to your guitar!
But really on a serious note, I am a guy that likes to perform and record and the guitar I play really needs to be versatile. Sometimes I show up to the gig and they call old Elvis tunes next thing I know we are doing Van Halen and to have a guitar that can not only hang but blow all the other guitars away is quite the feet! This guitar does it without breaking a sweat!
I did a pretty extensive review of this instrument so that you could see and hear all of these wonderful options! Let me know down in the comments below what you think of the guitar and the videos and if you like what you see please subscribe and hit that bell for notifications.
Until Next time, rock and roll!
    Sincerely,
    Trey Alexander

Great review. Makes me want one (but I don't want to pay for one)! A little note, you said it's an active pickup guitar but the pickups are passive. The battery is just for the silent circuit and onboard boost.

Did you end up keeping this guitar? Was it worth the hefty price tag? Guitar looks so damn sick

Out of curiosity, it being such a shredder guitar, is chording comfortable with such a flat radius + such thin profile? Any cramp when you focus on just the lower frets?

It felt amazing all around, this is a guitar as is I could go on tour with. That’s rare. Don’t know that there are many guitars I could say that about, it’s quite amazing what they made!

Hi mate, thanks for the great demo, I'm completely sold! I'm going to buy my first music man guitar but I'm struggling between this Jason cutlass 6 and Jp6/15, how would you compare the floating tremolo system on these models? I found very few information of the bridge on jr cutlass, is it a recessed version of original cutlass? I believe all of them can do the dive bomb good,
but which tremolo bridge has the largest pull-up range (I often do the Vai stuff but I don't want a Floyd rose)? Cheers!

I think all of them will do it pretty well but a Floyd always has a strength to the dive bomb stuff. Wouldn’t call it better per say but it just feels more stable to me for dive and pull up stuff. But the feel of the Ernie ball has its own magic and my ear is starting to lean more towards that Michael Lee Firkins, Jeff beck, Carl Verheyn thing if you know what I mean:)

Thanks for watching the video!! Really appreciate the support!! Most everything in my videos are free improvisation, just winging it and coming up with ideas as I am playing and listening to the sounds coming out of the amp:) Just love playing guitar and it helps to get the opportunity to play such nice gear:)

@@TreyAlexander we don't have a MM dealer here. I played on the 7 string richardson and hate 7 strings so that wasn't a fair trial. Action was horrible on the 7 but the tone was phenomenal

@@derekp3963the one I had played so easy and these guitars have the most amazing necks on them. If you like the tone you won’t be sorry with the guitar. I will say with any great guitar it is made even greater with a really proper luthier
