Picked up a Kaizen 7 and love it. The ergonomic shape, the infinity radius fretboard and thin neck make it a super fast smooth player. Definitely fits the sports car analogy. Great instrument.
I'm wondering the same thing and hope they do. They started with the seven to ease people into the idea, and I believe most of the first album was done using a 7-string. In other interviews you can see Tosin looks disappointed that EBMM wanted to release a 6-string. The tough thing about innovation and new (especially in the guitar arena) is that it seems to take a generation or two for things to catch on or be accepted.
Tosin Abasi and John Pettruci are the only guitarists who really strive for building perfect guitars at least to their customs. For me the sculpted back is the best feature of this guitar and I wished more guitars were build like this. I mean the general bellycuts on other guitars have no real function because the sculpting is not thought out well.
The body shape might have made that a bit difficult since the wings and body would have to be cut at the same time. The Majesty line is not quite as wild, so gluing the wings to the neck for the body just needs some light sanding to match. There's just so much room for error on the Kaizen body that consistency would probably be affected.
@@coupe-lee For about 4k I would hope it'd be a neck through. I get that the body design probably made it a no go but that seems counter intuitive to what Tosin does with his own line.
It has nothing to do with a guitars quality , etc .. Its a preference. . Bolt on guitars have a more immediate snap / response to them that players love. Tosin shares the same preference as myself and many other guitar players (bolt on necks ). Its not a design compromise or something or a sign of lesser quality..its a preference . Trust me if tosin loved neck throughs , all of his guitars would be neck through.
@@colebertram8482 I agree too. Tosin has had both types of guitars constructed for himself over the years as well. The middle position on the switch is even reminiscent of a tele in middle position. I believe the Rick Toone guitars Tosin has are bolt-on and they're like $13k.

6:50 yup just got this guitar and can confirm the neck pickup sound and middle position are sweet
First thing I noticed was them taping up the PRS logo on the amp haha
Tosin is known for 8-string guitars. Will there be an 8-string version of the Kaizen? 🤔

Music and gear is in such a good place! Love where it's going too.
